Sorry, no idea. Dont follow WMD as much as I used to anymore.
Most of the posts are now at the official forums anyway, so we know as much as you guys know, most of the time. I think Ian said they are working on improvements, but it's going to take a while, so don't hold your breath.

Hello, quick question... I always have my tire choise on 'depending on weather' but how can I see which tires actually are fitted? like softs, intermediate etc? (PS4 user)

You can't. You might as well just specify the tire yourself.

I have looked but can't find anything.
Does anyone know if it is possible to have race at 100% but practice and qualifying shorter at say 50% ?
You can start the qualify and practice at what you want then exit the event at the end of the results and change it to 100% back at the career Menu

For 1.5 i read SMS doesn't want to release the notes in advance like they did for 1.4, as then there was too much nagging about it for a couple of weeks. So no idea when 1.5 will come, i hope SMSoon TM.

For the pit crews, no idea will probably take them a while (why can't i put back a normal size font :p).
Thats a wise move by sms...the patch notes looked more like a wishlist after the patch came out.

OK, how long do the soft, medium and hard tyres last? Should I always use soft tires for 3-lap races and hard for races like le mans?

I've never done a race with those cars yet. But if you use "real" tire wear, the developer said the softs should last a full tank of gas. So yeah, soft tires will last 3 laps no problem.

And I'm exaggerating when I bash this messed up beta.
Well depends on what you say of course. I'm tempted to agree it is a Beta, but a very good one at that. Like i said in another thread last time I do a pre purchase though...

Man, I truly wish WMD members would have been given access to the console versions. The bugs and game instability is bad for us as customers and embarrassing for SMS.

Thing is... any developer does extensive beta testing programs on their titles nowadays, before releasing it to the console market, that is. Not SMS, by the looks of things.

Some of the bugs/glitches would've taken ten minutes to be spoted by a not so thorough beta tester. This makes me believe that the console ports weren't tested at all.

They simply run out of time and released pCARS as a finished product.

Now, we test the game for free!

If WMD/SMS were a little more honest, they would've released the game as a beta to console players. We would help, we wouldn't get so annoyed, angry and pissed by the game and in a couple of months, they could released the game in a stable, functioning state.

But, as always, common sense is the last resort.

It's good. But releasing a beta as a fully functional game is a dodgy thing to do. Reminds me of a japanese studio, which advertised a course maker to their latest product ages ago...

What single thing makes you hate the game so much? I mean sure there are some bugs, but the game is really good in the driving department, which is the main department.

I don't hate it. I actually quite like the feel of it through the wheel. It is very enjoyable to drive.

For some minutes, until it crashes, or freezes your PS4 and etc.

But I'm no hypocrite. For the last years, I've made fun of PD and its shortcomings. And when I see a developer going to the same route, with a legion of apologists to back up a broken game, well, I'll have to critize what I see wrong.

As I said, I don't hate the game. But I find tiresome getting all hyped to play the game, get home, turn the PS4 on, start to play it and got some nasty bugs all the time. The life is too short to overlook those things.

I just want it to be the best fully functional racing game ever. But it isn't and I don't have the patience to endure some 🤬 that this game is pulling regularly.

Well, it's not enough for me. I'll wait some months to see if they'll sort things out.

Seems like you have bad luck, my game crashes maybe once a week and that's a big maybe.

What nasty bugs do you get?

What isn't good enough for you with the driving aspect?

I would put up with a crash every six months.

Crashing aside, it's better now. Gameplaywise looks more solid.

Don't get me wrong: the driving physics is amazing. What I find bothersome is just drive and hotlap. I want to race, compete. But I can't do it with so much things going wrong on races. From pit broken mechanics to AI behaviour.

It's unplayable for me because I don't have patience anymore with a game that doesn't work properly.

If I could go back in time and cancel my pre-order I would. Not because I don't like the game, but because I feel SMS at best misled us, at worst, plain old lied to us about the state of the game and what was/is needed to have the game in the state they led me to believe it would be in at release.

Plus no crane, plus no safety car. ;)

@wowbaggerBR signature sums it up perfectly for me. The game is not unplayable and is brilliant when working properly. But there are a lot of annoyances (bugs, glitches, UI) that interrupt the fun. It's like SMS created the perfect woman (ladies: feel free to replace with Brad Pitt), only for her to constantly give me wet willies and wedgies.

It sounds like you have unrealistic expectations. Literally every PS4 game I've bought has had major bugs at launch.

What so many people don't seem to acknowledge is that pCars has an amazing core game that can be built from there on out instead of all these next gen games that have bad core gameplay and then the developers can't ever fix it because they would have to essentially launch an entire new game.

Also don't forget the game is just over a month old.

How many times must it be said; this does not make the fact pCARS has tons of bugs okay.

Just because its becoming common place for developers to release unfinished/buggy games doesn't mean it is what we should expect to happen.

It seems they did not got access to pc version either. They must have been playing re skinned rfactor2 or something... WMD backers and SMS should really be ashamed of the amount of bugs and how incredibly game breaking the bugs are..

I mean if you mange to connect to a lobby without a crash or get to click drive, then when the start goes after a long practice/qualify the cars get wrecked on the star tline before any one even gets to drive... gimme a break sms...We should get paid for wasting our time to just be able to get to play online... I Think P-cars is the most bugged game I ever played in my entire 33 year long/short life.... But the game is fun when it works...

It's going to happen no matter how many people complain about it. So yes people should get used to buggy games at release, welcome to the next gen.
