So I decided to buy the Classic Lotus Track Expansion, and I watched the trailer for it, and I have a question: does anyone know the name of the song used in it? If it even exists lol because I can't find anything at all

A little off topic but you should get the On Demand pack. Totally worth it.

Sorry I'm 2cheap but I do want that

Well, yeah I get it, $30 seems like a bit much. But then look at all the content it unlocks. Lots of variety to be had. I wish they'd release updated car sounds! PC modding community has it good as there have been some brilliant car audio samples.

So now that I've finally gotten a good controller setup, I'm able to enjoy the game without worrying about keeping my car on the track. I've been doing a bunch of multi class 10-15 minute races and have been having a great time.

Also this is the only game I've played that has a 24 hour time cycle for Laguna Seca :D

I know they're not realistic in most cases but screw it, they make it more manageable and if you're having fun that's all that matters.

Between the subpar steering algorithm on a controller, flaws with oversteer and countersteer in the physics, occasional glitches on the track surface that can toss you sideways without warning, and a career mode that frequently turns to rainy weather in cars with awful default setups that are uncontrollable in the wet...I'll admit I have stability control assigned as a "panic button" even though I drive without it 99% of the time.

Hopefully that won't be the case for PCARS2. 👍

@DesertPenguin09 -- I have a wheel, so I'm well aware how unnecessary it is, and I can tell the physics in PCARS1 aren't worth the trouble of dusting it off and setting it up, much less getting a GIMX adapter for my G25, relocating the PS4 to my computer desk, or configuring an arcane FFB menu (and for every car? Forget that).

A controller is just another input device. The idea that it's inherently inadequate for driving/racing is a PC-sim-elitist myth.

PCars plays fine with a controller (I've used DS4 on PS4 and I'm currently using Xbox360 on PC). The problem is that the default controller settings suck, and the default setup on most cars has steering ratio too fast. Once you find a good controller setup and adjust steering ratio in the car's setup the game plays fine with a controller.
Hopefully PCars2 will have better default settings.

Even though it's the only one I use, the XBONE controller is fine for me. With the RGT-8 GT3 and Escort, I notice more off center wandering with the Ruf and right hand pull with the Ford.

A gamepad is inadequate in providing feedback many like, it's not just an idea that many racers have. I don't even bother playing a good sim without my wheel setup, it is a necessity, but that's me. Yes, a wheel setup isn't required to play a racing game, to each their own, whatever floats your boat.

I'm on XONE using a pad. Works perfectly fine. But as @Wolfe pointed out, the countersteering physics are a bit "flawed" shall we say - beyond a certain threshhold, your car remains glued to the track in the direction of the slide and you just can't go into a tank slapper on command, like you can IRL or in other sims and reasonably realistic racing games. Irrespective of your setup, tuning or powertrain.

So if you wanted to smoothly drift from a left-hander to a right-hander and continue a volley so to speak, you just can't.

Yeap, it works great once you dial it in according to your preference and driving style. The right pull is because of the way the 2016 Fusion's engine is mounted and how the axle behaves as a result. It's accurate - I researched it! Will try to find the thread for you from the official forum if you like. The Ford Escort and Mustang Fastback do it too as a result.

Whatever floats your boat - precisely! I can play with the controller fine even with no vibration or rumble at all. But FFB is an absolute necessity for some. One fellow in particular wouldn't race with me online cos' the FFB on his wheel wasn't working correctly in Forza.

I've got it sorted out, but countersteer remains an issue. It's impossible to configure the steering to cover wide slides without being too sensitive to small kicks, or to dampen the response to small kicks without leaving you helpless in a wide slide.

I'm hoping for a more sophisticated filter that accounts for self-aligning torque like most other games, allowing the player to countersteer promptly without cranking way more countersteer than intended. Tippy-toeing around that problem means veering off course if the tail steps out just a little bit in a grippy car.

Hey man, you're not the one who took a friendly post confiding to another member about driving assists as an opportunity to toss out a snobby comment. No problem.

Precisely - I try to never lose grip in the race cars or grippier supercars, cos' once you do, you're toast. Actually fun to drift around in the less powerful road cars.

On career mode , does everyone do the full length of the races or do they shorten them like I tend to do ?
Depends on the event. Endurance I did on the shortest length, LMP1 & LMP2 can be done in full length, some events are good at half length.

Can someone tell me how to move up on career? mode and get the next kart?
Choose a class, play through the season (invitationals are optional), after season ends pick a contract for next season.

Thanks done the 125 shiftier karts, about 3 times now. I only ever get the same team contract as well, with Torque Racing. So not sure whats happening, may be have to start again:indiff:

That moment on PCars when you pause the game on a curve and when you resume you go flying off the track because you forgot you were on said curve.
Ha so many times! At least the G29 pauses the wheel in the same steering angle so if you keep it there when you unpause you should be good. I try to remember to only pause on straights but even then I sometime pick a short one and when I unpause I forget that so I'm driving straight on missing my braking point because I have no idea where I am on track

Just entered the 24hr Le Mans in career , currently in practice.

Also , if I do the race in a 2 hr real time timescale , does the day/night 24hr cycle work in according to the real timescale ? That would be awesome if so

Is there really no way of loading a tune into my car? I tuned a car at Brands, & when I go to another track the tune is gone. There is a reset to default tab & a save tab but no load tune tab. WTF?
