Now some users are going crazy...
Don't get me wrong here and I don't want to offend someone, but this build number talk in relation to the release is just.... ;)
Same goes for tractor madness in here. Calm the 🤬 down please!!

it is a game!! A game we are all excited about and can't wait to play as soon as possible! I'm driving the hype train too. But there is no need to enter the lunatic section of that train!! ;)

to all of you, have a nice (and sunny) Sunday!

It's nothing to do with 'going crazy' mate! With the recent silence from SMS regarding release date, the speculation has begun, nothing else!

Have a lovely day to my friend! :)

Ooo I am crazy. I got married, had kids and been crazy ever since:scared:. Guys don't marry a crazy women it'll suck the life right out of ya. Just kidding. No I'm not.

Indeed. You can have 0-3 ghosts. How's that for a crazy cool feature :)

The ghost ares in Time Trial, the three big "Add Ghost" buttons.
Three ghosts!? Closest I've seen in a game is Race 07 which has a ghost you can load up and the ghost of the best lap for that session.

A quick question guys I can't find this being asked previously.
I was just wondering in the races where's it's only 15-20 laps with tyres not having any scaling to them can you set mandatory pits stops during races if normally tyres wouldn't have to be changed?

I knew there were other Mozart fans out there! This is the music just in case anyone would like it on their playlist:

Mozart Symphony #40 in G Minor, K 550 - 1. Molto Allegro.

A very nice piece :)
And one for the Beethoven fans: Gamescom Trailer 2014

7th Symphony, 2nd Movement, arranged by Dr Stephen Baysted (SMS' sound/music main man, makes all the music) and performed by Mrs. Baysted.

I love classical music on these videos, it elevates the experience for me :)

Dr. Baysted is also the man behind the racing game classic piece from GTR2, Spa 24 hours. A version of it is in Project CARS.

Can you create separate classes and put in power/performance handicaps to balance out certain cars when creating a session?

Regarding AI

"Going through videos I FOUND this one from a week ago...

This is pretty much exactly what my GAME looks like and is a very good idea of how the AI drive.

Oulton Park, GT3 - AI set to 80% (we tend to run against 70-80% AI and it's a damn good challenge). The AI are...very realistic in that some are good, some bad, they will occasionally hit you, but they also make mistakes etc. This is the best video I've seen to properly show what to expect from the GAME at this point. This camera is set inside the helmet view, no HUD with the "shake" turned on. Very immersive when I PLAY."

He then proceeded to link this video

As Ronald Mcdonald would say............ I'M LOVIN' IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More from the source:

"In a normal online race you can do the following:

-Set weather and time speed
-Set up to four types of weather to rotate (including "random" as an option)
-Set qualifying/PRACTICE/rolling starts
-Set time of day
-Set assists allowed
-Set NUMBER of players (up to 64 on some maps - likely not for consoles?)
-"fill empty spots with AI" --- yep.
-Set AI difficulty on a 0-100 slider

In the game settings you also adjust rate/type of tire wear, fuel wear, damage (visual, performance impacting, realistic etc.), whether or not flags are enforced (penalties etc.)

Penalties get you black flagged etc.

Basically it's phenomenal. :) "

"Yep, my buddies and I are ALREADY planning on a 10x speed 24 Hours of LeMans (so 2.4 hours). You can simulate the entire thing. It seems they may have a special set-up just for that. The one thing I haven't seen and I need to look into is multi-class racing.

That would be hugely cool. It may even be in the game, but we haven't found it yet. Also there is a weather option "real" or some such which apparently will set the weather to the current weather of the TRACK when you're gaming. I think that'd be pretty slick.

There is a cool profile that's just started working too - SHOWING ALL of your stats, preferences, average finished, preferred classes - how many times you quit games etc."

And all this is just for PC? Or will it be for PS4/XBOXONE as well?

And this is where all the people who complain about Gran Turismo delays gather round and don't complain about Pcars doing it on their debut.
I'm still excited for Pcars, but this looks like a good reality check to me. Better than GT6, probably, but perfect, it will not be.

Not 100% sure if the "Real" Weather option could be possible on consoles, but other than that I don't see why all the other things mentioned couldn't be on consoles with the exception of the amount of cars on track.

Here's hoping it comes out on the 7th of May as stated!! Thanks mate! ;)

Not quite. This has been discussed at WMD though, and to that end some cars now have restrictors in the setup (those that would IRL?). I hope this will be made use of like you suggest. For now it would have to be a gentleman's agreement to run restricted cars in multiplayer.

You mean "no". ;)

After watching this entire video from start to finish something hit me towards the end. Throughout I was thinking to myself that this is the type of racing I enjoy the most. Wheel to wheel battles, trying to outfox my opponent, waiting for a mistake or trying to force one. Not caring about my finishing position, just enjoying the challenge of competing fairly with a competitor of equal skill. And then this happened 💡💡💡💡

This is how racing games get ruined by having a game economy. What incentive is there to engage in terrific battles with gaggles of cars in the middle of the field, with a truly challenging and competent level of AI, when you are penalized for doing so by winning less money and thus having less access to content in the future, by doing the very thing that's the most enjoyable?? The GT series actually discourages this type of racing for that very reason, and now it makes sense why they don't work on the AI and they aren't challenging at all in the career mode for even players of average skill. Why would someone want AI that's so good, it's literally taking money out of their virtual pocket?

Anyone wanting to know what kind of racing against the AI is possible in PCars should watch that video by the way.:eek:

@Johnnypenso -- There are always multiple ways of doing things, though. In any game where you can adjust the AI difficulty, there's nothing stopping you from playing on "Medium" to complete events and/or unlock things, then switching it to "Very Hard" to battle the AI, after you've bought and built up your dream car with the money you earned. It's no different from adjusting the AI % in PCARS in accordance to your skill level -- anyone can play to win, or play for the fun of battling the AI, or both.

I suppose Gran Turismo doesn't allow you to change the AI difficulty, so there's your problem. It's no reason to discredit the idea of a game economy entirely, across all games. Some people want more than just simulated racing. We also like to play videogames. Currency and winnings are elements of game design.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I'm not asking for an economy in PCARS. A career mode that tracks your progress and provides structure and permanence to your race results and achievements is another approach to game design, and one I look forward to trying myself.
