Is there anything I need to know if I'm preparing to do Le Mans?

I've just got the invitational to the 24hr Le Mans race and I'm considering doing it in 2 12hr stints (pausing the game in the middle for a bit of sleep) as I've seen a lot of bad reports about your AI driver crashing or getting DQ'd or running out of fuel. Is there anything in the game (bugs etc) that will ruin the race for me if I try to drive all the laps myself?

Well, what I have decided for myself when entering more WEC races:
- disable damage
- disable penalties

As long as they are not seriously handled by the game, I will keep having them OFF (as much as I would like have then ON), in endurance races that is.
Pretty frustrating spending so much time, just to find yourself DSQ by no fault of yourself...

Never heard of that. May be a good idea to report it on the official forums. I'm sure your painful to read Season recap will also get some attention.

Don't get angry if your Race reports get challenged by other users or a developer. They (devs) do this not to mock you but to get to the core of the problem.

Got the same bug for the third time on race 12 Monza. Luckely the AI was able to finish the race in first without dq-ing himself this time :). I have made 2 ps4share video's to show the bug(s). First video shows the AI driver taking control even when I select close in the pit menu and the second video shows me trying to get the ai to pit and it refusing to come in.

Hope this can be looked in to by the devs. Have posted it on the pc forum but so far I haven't got a response from the devs.
 
Honest opinion, the #1 thing the game needs for me is consistency in the career. I want to look at one of my opponents as a serious threat. If you look at the season results at the end of the season, most if not all of the ai have loads of points. There never is 3 or 4 opponents who seem to do better than the others, and realistically, that is what happens.

I guess what I'm saying is, can someone direct me to a place where I can complain about this? I really think this is a huge thing that would add so much value to the career, and make the career feel like a challenge. Because without your "lewis Hamilton's" or "Sebastian vettel's" winning more than the no name guys, it is sooooo easy for the player to get consistent 5th place finishes and win the championship.

The had the craziest race in the history of racing games last night...
I was racing on Watkins Glen in the US GT3 series, and I was second on the grid. Rain was coming down in buckets but I got a great jump when the lights went out putting me into first. I held a steady lead for a while until I smashed up my car. I went into the pitlane to fix the damage but the rain had eased off slightly and I changed to intermediates thinking that the rain would continue. One lap later the track was completely dry, so I went into the lane changing to softs. I came out in 23rd looking as though I had no chance of catching the leaders, but I managed to overtake some cars then I shot up to 9th because a large number of cars had come into the pit lane.

I thought beauty, I still have a chance here, then the rain came back. My tyres lost a large amount of grip when it started to get serious and I ended up spinning out suffering more damage, especially after getting collected by a RUF. I went down the order again after changing to wets, yet I got up to about 5th when another group of cars pitted. Then I crashed again so I came into the pits to fix the damage and popped up in 16th, passed a few cars then ANOTHER group of cars came in the lane putting me into second place. The guy in first was driving at a snail's pace and I easily dispatched him and I ended up winning by 38 seconds and lapped 5 cars. I couldn't believe my luck, I thought I'd get totally clobbered after my errors. I genuinely felt like I was living the reality and unexpectedness that is motor racing.

When racing in the GT3 class has anybody had an offer at the end of the season from another GT3 team ? I would like to stay in GT3 but swap teams a few times !

Yes of course. Well at least I have. I believe every single previous contract stays available if I'm not mistaken

My gosh. SMS forum is getting ridiculous. It's just been 2 months since forum launch, and the News & Announcement subforum is 2 pages and General Discussion has stickies taking up half of the first page. I guess the SMS guys like stickies and announcements. Can they just copy GTP?

It is a bit crazy there alright. I've only got 60 posts but I have become accustomed to GTP alerts notifying me of when I have been quoted. It is something I sorely miss on the PCars forum despite having so few posts. Being able to tag another member is a feature I miss too.

GTP has a great structure that many forums could learn from.

Oh man I was in a lobby with some friends yesterday and we all had to use the Mercedes Benz CLK LM and I plug my headphones into the controller and my god the sound of that car sounds so freaking great with headphones.:O

Great car indeed ,great sound, good to drive with and.....you sit in the middle of the car what I like .
