Does Farming Simulator have modding on console? It would be the same as that if so, due to same game engine/publisher.

Yes it does.

From the Giants software website about mods in this game:

“With the launch announcement comes the exciting news of premiere level modding within the world of racing simulation: Thanks to the proven GIANTS Engine, the team confirms full mod support from day one, across all platforms.

Using the official GIANTS Editor, all user-generated content can be submitted through the in-game UGC-Portal, where every mod is tested by the developers before being made available for download. “Project Motor Racing taps into the same powerhouse modding ecosystem as Farming Simulator,” says Boris Stefan, CSO & Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software. “Racing modders will be able to tweak, tune, and transform their experience however they like.”

I wonder if they will do something similar to Grid Legends when you race online. Where you can fill your race with bits and others can join and take over the bots place. Also I wonder how career modes can you do at the same time. I think in PC2 it was 4. That will allow to figure out how what I enjoy most

I know Boris, I worked with him at Konami :)

He's a cool dude.

That would be great, didn't know it's possible in PC2 :)

Yeah I think I have 3 different careers i PCS 1 Ginetta GT5 , 1 Ginetta GT4 & 1 Group C.

I wonder if they'll do the same with single player like they did with PCars2, where you could have 4 different classes racing together

I asked on the Discord, they confirmed you can have multiple save files for Career mode.

With that confirming that they're not sticking strictly to the 2004 entries for the GT class, I'm very hopeful for a C5-R (and the Maserati MC12 of course).

GT & N-GT look like the best classes for a career. No need for any of that modern hypercar/GT3/GT4 nonsense.
I will defend GT4 in that it’s pretty much back to basics GT racing. I know, I know, paddle shifters, TCS, ABS for those Gentleman race cars don’t make them as raw as old GT1 racers, but the less aero the better. ;)

If they add the Camaro or A110 I may give them a go.

I'd noticed in Farming Simulator 22 (not sure if 25 is still the same, it's not on GamePass yet) that people talking about mods were talking about the PC variant of the game, as they weren't all ported over to Xbox yet.

Hopefully PMR makes them on all platforms at the same time.

Not seeing much farmland in the footage yet, to try and determine if we'll have stuff growing in a seasonal manor, borrowed from FS. Could be pretty cool, especially in mods if we're racing about in the countryside, a few of their maps could be really good for a track or two.

Foliage in this footage is certainly looking nice.

Consoles will never get all the same mods as PC because of Xbox/Playstation guidelines. I just hope we get the good ones. PMR devs confirmed that custom championships can be modded into the career. Someone will do the late 90s BTCC seasons and I don’t want to buy a PC to play them!

It's my understanding that there's an additional approval stage for console mods and that not all PC mods will be available or eligible for console.

Here's the mod guide from GIANTS:

Quoting from the mod guide that @Famine linked:

How to get a mod on console

Our QA team will generally check every submitted mod for console compatibility. However, dueto various limitations, not every mod automatically qualifies for console publishing. For example, consoles cannot process scripts, which means that all mods with scripts cannot be consideredfor a console release.

If your mod is suitable for console publishing, our QA team will let you know. This also applies ifthe mod needs some minor adjustments to become console compatible.

Let's hope for the best and a lot of quality mods for us console players!

Yeah, I'm sure we'll also get tracks, their props and cars in the same way as FS has maps, fences etc to dot about and all the equipment to drive.

It was more advanced stuff like police with missions I'm sure I was looking into for my son, but we did manage to cut people out of car wrecks with a fire brigade mod on console, with missions varying from things like that to various different fire extinguishing scenarios - totally different from regular farming gameplay.

I’ll wait for reviews and maybe even a demo before before I part with money for yet another racing game, not saying it’s going to be bad at all, it actually looks very promising but will not be a day one game

I haven’t read the website notes about damage, but there’s got to be some wear and tear concerns like the real world.

  • Too much curb hopping or curb riding with low cold tyre pressures can possibly lead to punctures. Also “rubbin’ is racin’” leading to body panels rubbing on tyres, damaged wheels and possible side exhaust pipes.
  • Following too close raises temperatures for everything: brakes, fluids/engine temperature, tyre wear
  • damaging engine due to over revving; engine fires
  • brake fade in endurance races
  • random electrical failures; having to bit because wipers don’t work(if the rain is like what Kunos did in ACC, trust you’ll be needing the wipers)
  • oil leaks in older cars
  • being black flagged to fix a safety issue

I’m having a bit of fun(manufacturers would be like “hell to the no!”), but I think this game will be as good as PC & PC2.
Someone did ask in the Discord if we'd have the random engine combustion that could explode body parts like in GTR2, but that got shut down pretty quickly; no fires.

They noted we likely won't see any of the damage model in any trailers as well due to manufacturer agreements, but some have taken that as a sign the model may actually be good (like Grid 2 levels).

On the in game economy, the fact you can start the game rich if you so choose, suggests the game isn't going to push buying in game currency at you. There will no doubt be DLC that you can choose to buy, but the last thing a game developer will do if they want to encourage players to buy in game cash is allow them to choose to start the game well off instead of poor.
The professional category likely means in game budget must be spent on same level events, higher tiers of racing are more expensive.

The fact that all cars are available in non career mode is a strong indicator though that this game won’t be spoiled by micotransactions, or a grind economy like gt7.

They described the Global Operation option as a starting point for your set up and finances, so it gives you access to the higher level cars and events right away, not that you are limited to those. Either way, giving access to everything, including what would be considered end/late game content is a design choice that is contrary to a game economy designed to encourage MTXs.

Micro transactions are least of my worries for this game. Having the cars available from the jump is great. Being able to do a quick race will help me decide what route to take in career mode as far as class of car to drive. I will probably start out easy in the slowest car class in the game. But I guess I will see when I get to play it

This really does look promising, the front half of this console gen has been starved for racing games. HOWEVER, does anyone else wish they just skipped over GT3? In a other sims it cannibalises the online population.

I would love to see historic DTM or BTCC at some point. I know licensing might be tough but I'd love to see recreations of race series' that have gotten less attention over the last decade or so.

Also -- PSVR 2 would be incredible.

Full mod support. Yes! Banger racing conversion in 3...2...:D.

However...If licensing issues are going to be a big deal...how are they allowed to give us full mod support? I assume we could still make a Ford Fiesta RS1800 for example as long as we don't use "ford" badges and call is a "Bord Siesta SR0018" or something? Or is the licensing going to really strict on the SHAPE of the cars too? I am curious on this because it's absolutely awesome they'll have full mod support as 70 launch cars isn't that many so, I am very hopeful for this. Give me sh-tboxes please to race, and sh-tboxes only :D.

If it's like Farming Simulator then you can add pretty much anything on PC, but for console I believe any brands have to already be licenced to be allowed. Just have to wait and see how it actually works after release.

As for the sh-boxes, the game is focused on proper race cars and series, so maybe a F1 Ferrari?

That's fair, guess we'll see!

Yeah I realise that but that's the fun of it with mods...plenty of ****box cars can become track day monsters with enough mods :D. If GT7 is adding Citron BX's lol then I'm really looking forward to what people port over and how the handling model will cope. If there already an MX-5 that will certainly help with modders utilising variations of it's driving physics/profile or however cars are set up physics wise. I'd like to expect AsCorsa levels of mods but...even higher quality but I suppose we shall have to wait and see :).

I'd definitely be interested in some low level grassroots series mods like Clios, Minis, Ginettas, etc.

Do we have an indication those won't be in the game?

There’s not much space left in the launch lineup. They said there’d be 10 classes. 7 are confirmed. It’s not clear whether GTE (preorder) and Group 5 (DLC) are included in that 10 or are counted separately. The MX5 Cup doesn’t fit in any announced class so that’s one more.

If not at launch they may be added in year 1. The bundle says 3 extra content packs.

Group C is also rumoured to be one of the classes
