I’ve not given up hope for mclaren yet. Still think they have one last surprise up their sleeves

GT4 style BMW licenses McLaren F1 GTR? Unlikely but still an outside shot.

Does anyone know if PMR features Stephen Baystead's AI commentary? None of the gameplay videos I've seen have it but I'm wondering if they're keeping it back until release.

It hasn't been mentioned or spoken about, naturally that doesn't confirm it isn't there but I'd be surprised if it was.

With the reveal of the Alpine A110 GT4 and the Toyota GT-ONE, I believe that leaves us with 4 unknown cars and 4 classes to be fully unveiled, GT, NGT, GT1 and GT3.

Think this shared by Ian Bell at the end of October might, could be recorded or it's really good? I noticed it but never spotted anyone commenting on it:

I was more interested to hear how the engine synth usage panned out.

The commentary there is from the real footage on the bottom left.

Makes sense. I'm sure I've been watching game footage that shows other angles picture-in-picture so thought that was what was going on here, not even sure which title that was in.

Is this a real thing does anyone know? In a thread asking if there will be console footage before release:

Seems a bit bizarre not to want to get more console pre-orders, are dev kits expensive or hard to get? To the extent they wouldn't make a trailer/gameplay footage by simply pressing record with one instead?

That was something I didn’t think about when the Alpine LMHABCDEFG was revealed. Seeing that A110 GT4 made me smile. The render looks a little better than in ACC. Will have to wait and see how it looks in a replay.

Yeah :(

No McLaren, Lexus and especially Ferrari feels bad.

I love the RCF in both wec and imsa.
i'm a little dissapointed that we won't be seeing Nissan in GT3 with the R35 (or has it been announced and i missed it), i know it doesn't compete in WEC or IMSA anymore but there are still a few running in Super GT

I know it’s not GT3 but there is still the DLC to come. Would be unthinkable if it’s not included in the several eras of GT500.

GT3 hasn't been fully unveiled yet, GTR is an outside bet maybe.

I've read in the past that devkits can cost upwards of $3000. For major studios this might not be a problem, and usually the major console manufacturers will provide one for free, but for smaller studios, like Straight4, I can see how it can be an issue and potentially being unwilling to fork out another $3-6k just to make a console video.

Anybody else seeing the attention to detail in the cockpit? You can see scuff and scratch lines all over the console near the switches. Even looks like dust particles are on it. Nice touch
Plus glove marks from touching the dash a certain way to toggle switches.

Edit: The True to Track thing is going to be interesting when it comes to the V8 Supercar DLC. The series run Dunlop tyres since forever. Michelin seem to be the brand of choice where applicable. Some of us members that have watched and continue to watch V8s know Dunlop change the compound construction all the time. The tyres fall of or don’t fall off. The track surface abrasion are a major player as well during a season.
Wondering where they’d get the tyre information if they’re not in a collab to get as accurate car behaviour information from Supercars.

I mean, same would go for Pirelli since that’s the brand used for GT3/GT4 unless it’s in the USA, Japan and Le Mans. However, V8s are so unique in the Motorsport world. It’d be an interesting read when that DLC drops.

One more thing in regards to GT4. So glad I don’t have to pretend. Even in ACC being the official game there weren’t any Mustang and Supra update for consoles. If McLaren(and Lotus) is to be the only brand missing in SRO GT classes, it’s still a great job to get ten GT4 manufacturers in the game. I’m happy.

I would bet not, else you'd just get the BMW Motorsport FINA car. And given they seem to be having to compromise some iconic liveries with similar names (Visteon is Vixbii, Goodwrench is Greenvars), FINA could just end up as FANE or something, which kind of spoils that having that specific car licensed.

It's very odd it isn't "carrying over", though. McLaren are usually pretty open to licensing their brand.

C'mon surely we're worth the investment, Ian?

If we're not, phone footage will do. While we can still pre-order.

I have almost no hope that they have left Ferrari for last minute reveal.

But in the DLC info, in the GT Legends Pack it clearly says icons of the '67 Sportscar Championship.

I assume the Ford GT40 Mk IV and some Porsche (906, 907, 910) will be included. Maybe the Chaparral 2F.

But I wouldn't understand if the Ferrari 330 P4 wasn't there.

I just hope the last 4 reveals are something truly exciting e.g. F1 GTR, MC12 GT1, Chrysler Viper GTSR and something left of field but nevertheless, exciting. I really liked the oddballs they've included like the Marcos Mantara, TVR T400R and the Gillet Vertigo.
How about a Diablo GTR? Not impossible since we have Lamborghini in the game.

GT4 does look like the best class. I can imagine a gentleman racer career driving all of them.
Would be nice if there were driver swaps, so I (the bronze rated tortoise) could hand off to a gold-rated pro (bot or real).
Yeah I have to say GT4 is looking like it will be a lot of fun indeed. I'm just super happy that pretty much every class has been filled out very nicely, that will make every class feel like it has a real purpose and place in the game.

GT4 - 10
LMDh - 9
GT3 - At least 9
GTE - 7
NGT - At least 7
GT1 - 6

And then GTO, Group 5 and Group C coming in 5 strong.

The only classes I feel that are lacking a little bit are LMP and Sports Car 70. However I realise that a lot of LMP900 cars may have complex licensing and the Sports Car 70 class was originally meant to have at least one more machine. I do feel the 70s class may become the black sheep of the game, unless it can be expanded with some good quality mods to expand the roster, the 917K will comfortably outclass the Lola.

Did you spot some real liveries in the youtube stuff?

aside from modding, I'm wondering if they go 1 livery per car, more than one, real ones, or what

I like to see many different colors on the track

Seems to be a mix from what I've seen on videos, even some of the what look like real liveries have fictional sponsors.

A few different livery options per car.

and an explanation of some of the issues with liveries from the game designer

(quite amusing to read that, considering who wrote it and their own personal history in this area)

This is looking better and better every day. I will probably end up pre-ordering it on PS5 but won't be home when it releases. The game, with everything coming out so far has a Race Driver Grid feel to it, which I am so excited for. Grid is definitely in my Top 5 games ever. If PMR gives that same experience, it will be right up there for me.

Grid is fine for what it is but personally I would be disappointed if PMR would turn out to be that way. Laser-scanned Tracks and a decent force feedback are already a significant difference...
