I agree with this, but I find it hard to believe that this brilliant person, one George Hotz, has apparently not been bothered with legal hassles for what he's managed to do to the iphone, PS3, and perhaps other systems. I never installed Linux on my PS3 because some years ago I was forced to use UNIX for a period of about five years, and I did not enjoy the experience.*snip*
My primary issue here is less with Sony and more with the industry as a whole. They have gotten so paranoid about piracy that they do not look at how many honest customers will be affected in their attempts to stop it.

In this current case, one man found a way through Other OS that would possibly allow piracy, and Sony has punished everyone that legitimately installed Linux.
I realize that the following is just a joke, but I really wish that something similar (and extremely expensive) would happen to this hacker:

My opinion is that legitimate Linux users that have been affected by Sony's actions should be upset at this hacker, because he is the sole reason that Sony was forced to close the loophole. I hope that he continues to attempt to create his own CFW, and I sincerely hope that he gets all of the peace and quiet that he needs for this project while working within the solitary confines of an 8' x 10' jail cell...without access to a computer.
