In my opinion what Wardez is neither clean nor dirty. I mean he's a bit inside and a bit outside, so it is up to the organization to set the limit of how much track can be used. It's only preaseason anyways.

Going to be fun seeing so many Miata's in front of me, I'm so sloow.

What it comes down to is preparedness. And I in know way blame RT for this boundary business 'cause neither of us could've saw it coming for a pre-season race. And what I did there was a move to salvage my horrible line taking. I went in too far to the left and (as you can see by my G meter) yanked hard to keep it within limits.

But yes, it comes down to picking between the lesser of two evils. Either change the rule now, when people have qualified already, or go on and learn.

But in order to lighten the work load, and to show my appreciation for Jason's decision I'm gonna visit every track on the calender and take boundary photos, cross-confirm with Jason and get all of that out of the way.

The rules for me have always been the same, they just weren't posted correctly.

Edit: erickmx - your lap was OK.

In a race track, the edge of the tracks are the white lines so in this picture, the white line is on the inside isn't it as that how it works for the rest of the track so this is in my opinion, a major corner cut.

a major corner cut.

Let's not exaggerate now. The white line boundary extends the boarder where there are rumble strips behind it, and stops when there is green/black/grey concrete or green astrotruf.

Now, when there is a white line on the outside of the rumblestrip, that is clean as per the OLR rules, which the rules for FMSC are based on (which in cases like these, should be referred to imo when the basic set of rules for FMSC are ambiguous).

Take a look at WRS Week 18 at Monza. On the exit of Lesmo 1, there's white line/rumble strip/white(nearly grey) line/black concrete/gravel. EDK's post #6 says it's track (And yeah, you can actually go 3 wheels off that white/grey line there without having your other wheel touching the gravel.)

Someone will somehow argue with this, but Wardez, you're clean. 👍

I wasn't exaggerating. It just means that several people are already at a disadvantage (which could easily give you 2 tenths into S1) who have qualified.

Yeah but the kerbs are counted as track so aslong as you have 2 wheels on that kerb its seen as on track. I think the issue is with the white line to the left of the kerb and people are debating if it should count as kerb or not. I don't think you call it major cut unless they are clearly beyond the track limits.

I hate it when people exaggerate as to how much time can be gained from a corner cut as petty as this one. And you don't just say 2 tenths, you say easily 2 tenths. Say you cut it by how much Wardez did (and supposedly being dirty), rather than being a quarter of a car widths to the right and being clean, would have gained you no more than half a tenth. All you're doing is decreasing your lock a little and cutting a very wide apex by a foot or so.

I never remember kerbs being counted as part of the track. I thought the white line was the limit.

For me, it would gain 2 tenths because I lose speed through Eau Rouge but without having to make the corner properly, I don't drop barely at all in speed and gain an advantage for the whole of the next straight.

I'm just in a bad mood at the moment after people saying I'm using a bugged setup (aka cheating) in F1 2011 so I'll just stop.

Which thread should we post practice/quali room numbers in? Kinda confusing.

Any steward around to watch my quali?

I would also like to qualify now that I'm getting into the 2:32's consistently which I'm happy with. :)

A room is actually open guys: 1472 6118 4130 9223 7694

This is an amazing race. Watch how they take Eau Rouge and the exit from the chicane. This shows that it's not up to the track designers as to what the racers will deem legal to use, it's up to the organizers.

Wardez's time has been allowed, the rules have been set, the discussion is pretty much over. Let's move on.

I'd like to ask one other thing. Please do not bring questionable laps into the thread. It would be best for all involved if these were handled via PM'ing Stewards. Which you can find a list of in the OP or link in the OP.

Thank you for respecting all racers and keeping these things off the public thread.

How to solve the flags layout here?

I've emailed Google, waiting response. I've tried a handful of things, nothing is working. I don't know what's going on.

I hope our lack of attendance is because it's a pre-season race.

It's me who asked to oultlaw to post the pic on the thread. Cause I wanted to show those who are unfamiliar with PURE we don't show favoritism to any member of any kind, even among Stewards. And Edward seemed to be a good example for this sitaution ... ;)

Hello, I'm curious, how much power are you guys getting out of your cars? The limit says 265hp, but I seem to be down by 8hp. I have a supercharger and oil change. Any help would be appreciated.

Engine break-in at 180 miles.

Thank you, kind sir.

How many have qualified so far? Division 1 does have a race tonight at 9pm GMT right ? Bit quiet in here. Also, RT are you hosting?

7 in Division 1, 8 in Division 2. Both races are at the same time. Hope people paid attention to the schedule and realize that.

Div 2 is same time? Dang, should've joined that do I could be with people at my pace.

I am in the room Litchi posted above, just q'ed, CSL about to.

Div 2 is the same time for today only. Once you select a division, you cannot switch.

I see the deadline for quali (at least for Div 1) is 1pm EST/6pm GMT. Is it alright if I do my quali in about an hour or so? I know it's a bit late but I searched for the room twice today and it didn't come up. Didn't help that I didn't have Litchi on my friends list either. :ouch: No probs if not.

Im in the same boat as you. Race at 4, Q deadline at 1. Its 1.26. :( RT, if not possible to qualify add me to the back of the grid. Thats probably where I'll stay anyways

I am the designated backmarker. :dopey:

That's fine. Seems we are down on attendance for some reason anyway.

This race is ok since it's pre-season, but anyone that doesn't show next week without letting me know first will find themselves missing from the registration list. :)
