≡Track Notes ≡

Track boundaries for all races in GATE 2 are universally defined as follows:
The white lines along the edge of the track are considered to be the track boundaries. These lines continue onto the rumble strips at each corner. At no point should there be no more than two wheels over those lines/rumble strips. two tires must remain in contact with the track at all times. The preceding defines the "track." hard surfaces beyond white lines and curbing/rumble strips such as concrete, "greencrete", or turf and other run off is not considered to be track. White lines, curbing/rumble strips are track and even if you only have two tires on their very edges (to be reviewed and confirmed by as steward) it will be considered clean.

This rule is, of course, also pertinent to both regular season qualifying and the group qualifying to be held especially for the pre-season event. And this also applies to marked pit lane entry and exit lines. Do not cross them.

A staggered double-file line is used for our rolling start for the first lap after which the race will begin at the start/ finish line.
oQpyV.png
( First time pole sitters will be contacted for confirmation of the following regulations)
  • Pole sitter will begin on the left side of the track.
  • Even number position qualifiers will be on the right side lane of the formation. Odd number qualifiers will be in the pole sitters lane on the left side.
  • Once the GT5 race countdown has completed and the race event has begun all drivers must hold position and wait for confirmation from the host to proceed. Use your handbrakes, sit silently, report any suspicious latency between cars or lag jolting/skipping. After the host has given the go ahead all drivers will begin to slowly form up in qualifying order. The leader must act as gatherer, they must not pre-maturely advance from the group, it is their job to keep the pace slow enough until all cars are in position then proceed to formation speed.
  • Even pace at 100 kmh / 62 mph,
  • The pole leader must wait for the grid to line up behind them completely on the start straight before starting the race by applying full throttle at the start/finish line.
  • No weaving is allowed during formation lap.
  • You must not overlap the car ahead of you.
  • Do not pass any car until you're past the point the pole sitter started the race at.
  • Jump starters will be given warnings or penalties depending on severity.
  • If a driver is damaged on formation then the damaged driver must communicate this through text chat and continue at a reasonable speed to the pit area. The other cars will continue on as normal and the damaged car(s) can join the group as they come around for their first lap. At this point the formation lap will continue on for a second lap after which the race will begin. If it happens once more, the same contingency will be applied and a third formation lap will go on. After this, no more "formation restarts" will be acceptable and the affected drivers must either retire or start far behind the group. Drivers experiencing extreme lag will be asked to leave so the other drivers can race.
  • If, for any reason, a driver misses the formation start and stays behind still on the track the race will not go on, it must be restarted to eliminate the obstacle.

You don't have to split the room for me. I'm sure someone won't make it so paul can get in, I haven't been able to practice nearly as much as I wanted to, things just keep getting in the way as usual.

No way! I won't be much good in the race at all, my pace isn't there what so ever so you should definitely stay in.

Just coming was still testing, decided on a car close to my heart as I couldn't split some cars on pace.

Retired on lap 27 due to a horrible pit strategy and my parents wanted a lift haha. Some very nice battles at the beginning and terrific pace from all.

D1 finishing order:

Finishing with almost a half tank really took me out of the race. I really need a quality crew chief.

Retired myself almost half way. Just couldn't hold the car together, became torture. Not a bad car at all, just need more time.

May need to repick my car. I'm going to do some testing tomorrow, for now, Series X quali.

Had a fun race in the beginning, nice clean tight battles as always. Looking forward for Nurb. GP

Great race, some really close battling through lap 11 before joshua started lagging a bit and one way or another i got damage and started a 2 stopper.

Ended woth Skeng leading with me chasing, veloci in 3rd johan 4th, looking at a 4 way finish, but i ran out of fuel with 2 left and skeng in the final sector.

2 oitlaps = put in even more extra fuel

First, sorry to all that I might have mislead by stating you need to fill around 50 liters. I thought we were doing 36 race laps. So prior to the race I did a 12 lap run, pitted and needed 47 liters to fill it up. Figured out after the first stop (after taking on too much fuel) I done a mistake. Tried to recalulate whilst driving which didn't work all that great and put on 36 liters which was way too much.

Anyhow, good fun race. Was too conservative in the first corner and Veloci got away out of draft. Good battle with Dom and Josh. Somthing strange happened on lap 10 (or 11). Dom and Josh spun a bit in front of me accelerating out of the last corner. I hit Josh and got damage (2 wheels + engine). On my replay, Josh got the same damage but he drove on as he didn't get any damage but Dom pitted and he didn't have any damage on my replay.

Great last lap with Veloci both of us batteling real hard but fair. I was fortunate to get a better exit out of the last turn and could take the line.

Very unfortunate Shen who in the lead ran out of fuel with a quarter of a lap to go.
Veloci had great pace, especially on the first stint. And it was great to see Dom that strong in MRS, proving that the dog can go do well in the right hands. Impressive.

You guys really did a great job with the spec of these cars .

It was heartbreaking to run out of fuel on the last lap but ill just call this one a learning experience.

Looking forward to a great season

Still have more time to find in the car so it could be promising

GUTTED. I pitted on lap 17 with a 4 second lead from kolden, he stayed out an extra lap. It was telling me i didn't need any fuel so i put 12 litres in. It soon became apparent it wasn't enough so i pitted again at the end of the 28th lap. Another 12 litres. i had a 10 second lead after my fuel stop and then i ran out of fuel at the end of the second sector on lap 32. another stop and 7th place. i will test the fuel consumption in future.

Yeah I had a similar thing, stupid fuel.. Oh well we have the fastest laps and mine was draftless :D. Besides that everything abot my race sucked lol, was spun out, got hit off a few times then the aforementioned fuel screw up.

For those that didnt hear before the race, my MR-S was at 513pp instead of 516pp as a matter of testing.
Final tweaks to specs should be up tomorrow at the latest. 👍

I filled maybe to much fuel on my one pit. Thats why I won. Had to take a chance, aware of the fast fuel consumption, but filled to much(frustrating watching the car taking long time in the pit) Even more frustrating when I saw the guys, I had a lead on , now where way ahead of me. Thinking I had done a mistake. The mood fell, car felt slow, and my driving begin to suck. Concentrating of just finishing the race. But I won. Finishing by an historic overtaking of twistedfire( a hard fight, him being out fuel. When I saw him outside pushing the car, I though I might had chance.:)

Fantastic race. I was running on fumes the last 4 laps which included a pit stop, adding 8 liters with 2 laps to go, which was almost not enough.

Some real good battles between jashugan01 and I for the last 12 laps or so. Close finish with a 0.039sec margin for 2nd between us.

Until next time!

::Announcement::

Final Car Specs
As you may be aware Dom (CSLACR) has spent hours refining and perfecting the specs. It's fair to say now that the field is very finely balanced. Thank you for all your help Dom.
