Question about 911 Turbo (996)

Hi Guys i got a question here When was The turbo version Of (996) was launched Some websites have said 1998 and some said 2000 oh and when Did they introduce the teardrop headlamp ? Thank you

I can only find references to it being released in 2000. The 996 was sold from 1998 onwards. Two years between regular 911 and a turbo version being released sounds about right. The facelifted version came out in 2002.

Yep, 996 turbos started in 2000. My dad had a 2002 996 turbo s and damn that thing was an animal. 172 on an open highway at 5am, definiely a memory I'll never forget. I remember one time he decided to go for it on the bridge on his way to work and when he got to the next toll booth a cop told him they got him on camera doing 120. He looked up and said "Nah, I had to be doing at least 150-160." Luckily the cop let him go on it.

996 Turbo debuted in 2000 and received a facelift in 2002, along with the rest of the range.
