This looks much better. 3" body lift, 33" tires. Not overdone, and not stock. Just right if you ask me.

I don't care if they never see a dirt road, have noisy tires or get abysmal gas mileage, I love lifted trucks. The view up there is excellent and they look badass. The fact that they're pretty much universally panned by the car enthusiast community makes them a little more appealing, as well.

This guy gets it; I totally agree. The view is amazing, and it makes things a lot easier. You'd love mine then. And yes, it says "ANIMAL" on the plow frame...

Some lifted trucks look ok, but the moment I talk to the owner I instantly hate them. Around here they're all driving by ignorant rednecks or bro's. Not that the mini trucking community was much better, most of them thought they were homeboys.

But something about a truck laid out on bags with a body drop is just cool for me. Full-sized truck are a bit hit or miss, but like Cano said, dually's are awesome when they're dropped.

All he did was put lights on a roll bar in the bed for offroading purposes (which we used to do a lot of) and install a bumper lmao.

It's a custom made double iron pipe bumper my dad made. It's so heavy, he had to lift it with a forklift to install it. It's welded on as well as has 6 bolts drilled through the frame rails, 3 on each side. There's actually a light on top of it now for backing up in the dark now. The actual exhaust pipes are cut off about a foot in from of the rear axle and left there under the bed. Nothing special, no tips, no dumps, nothing.

Like I said I had mine lifted and it's already a massive truck as it is, but I'm not a 🤬, that's for sure lmao.

Mine was lifted, albeit 3 inch body but it was taken out. I like to rip around and brag about it, but there's a point where it becomes obnoxious. A lot of my friends are that way.

I quite like the pro-touring style myself. Not too low, but quite aggressive at the same time. I'd love an older Silverado with Corvette suspension and an LS7. A bit like this one, albeit without the 1996 style clear corners and mesh grille... :lol:

See with something like that, I'd like to give it some wide 31's and leave it at stock height.

That's like putting 33's on a Lightning or SRT10... doesn't make any sense.

Because it looks a lot better and wider tends to mean more traction. Lets face it, a lot of street driving is going straight and that performance is what I like. 31's actually aren't all that big. It's kind of like why people leave skinny tires on the front of Mustangs and beef up the driven wheels, though leaving all of them beefed up to make it look even.

Just because it serves no purpose doesn't mean I can't make it look how I want.

How can it have corvette suspension? Vette's use a transverse leaf spring.

*Front suspension. A lot of those hot rod kits that replicate 32' Fords usually use C4 suspension & steering, for instance. I'd do something like that, but with Z06 parts, if money was no object.

While we're on the subject of ill-advised truck modifications....

My friend and I are planning on converting his '96 Ford Ranger for rallycross when he finally gets a new car. Strip out the interior, give it proper suspension (that isn't held together by washers and superglue), work out how to squeeze a bit of power from the V6, etc., etc. It's a ridiculously stupid plan, but he only bought the thing for $500, so it's it's not like we'd be losing much.
 
Dump a 302 in it. You will get nowhere with that V6 and its more cost effective to use the V8.

Do it, there's already a guy in the Detroit region that runs a Ranger at the rallycrosses and does pretty well with it. You don't need to do anything to the engine either since rallycross is more tire selection and driver ability than flatout power. I mean the guy that won my class for the year has a Chevy Metro.
