Thanks very much Dan, I will watch your replay. 👍

Glad to see everyone else helping out and encouraging people

Great Teamwork!

2'01.432 ~ this is doubt i will see again...

Hey Colby. I checked the replay and then also rechecked by running again. Are you sure u have ai on -10? I always get the '74 1600 GSR rally. It has 160 HP and 825kg. The 99 Puegot has 361HP and 1107kg with full tune. Starting in 2 gear like I said b4 is no problem at all. U smoke him right off the line. :) I was also using 210 gearing. That seemed pretty much right on.

race 2 update

24.361
44.295
1.06.249

quite possibly perfect 2nd sector, very rare to do full throttle with hardly any skidding

matched my other ending but still little more there according to holl01, no idea here

also dangerously close to wall on 1st sector like before but this time I'm almost positive from any angle that it's clean and data logger shows nothing suspicious

Still don't see a 24.1 ? I did manage 1 24.230 though which was kind of luck, I didn't really use that much grass on it and it was just a little drift at 85 mph.

update:

1´26´638, and this one is clean and also my security run to submit. now, there´s less pressure, i just need to polish the lap.

and posting 4 laps that i have, some are dirty, but the faster one, its clean. so i need a NTSC racer to take a look just to see what they think. am i losing time in some stupid moment? is it good? how much it looks like i can improve?
thanks in advance for the suggestions.

and, just a little story.

it worked again. in the start of my session today. i did a full race, 31 laps with the 787 with the same specs that i´m running. after the race, you only need 15-20 minutes to have blistering laps. it works everytime for me. it always happen during the JGTC. after the races, i´m always able to beat my qualify time pretty easilly. and i ran with strong tire wear. you get familiar with the car response and also, you are obligated to lap the course without restarting. its great, you guys should try to see if it helps.

Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna check everything again and do a few laps we'll see what happens 👍

that seems unreasonable that you could match my 2nd sector even while hitting the brakes and I never let off the throttle or used the brakes

guess I could take the turn before T1 faster, it seems if you try to take it in the high 80's it slides really hard and hits the wall and I'm not sure what type of angle you would take at the end. If you brake that early and try to take it in 2nd it can't stay on the road

if ur .5 away from my time then its safe to say that u r indeed doing it wrong, using 4th for that left b4 T1 is faster, as u avoid the extra gear change, which costs u time....and if u read my post properly, i said i made a very slight tap of the brakes, it was so slight sensitive, it cost me no speed at all, but i did it cos i felt like it, it was just one of those things that i decided to do on that lap, cos i felt like i achieved good drive out of the double left, and thus, a brake application would assist me to take that corner safely. it was either going to be a brake tappige, or a throttle lift...i chose the former. i shift a little bit after the red line
not on the red limiter, maybe .5 secs after it

Well after a hundred restarts I got the Lancer GSR and it's easy to fly past 👍

Now as for the track, I put a couple of hours in and I have a couple of clean races but they're crap. The best laps I can see with perfect splits from what I've personally seen so far is:

0`32.7xx
0`54.4xx
1`15.4xx
1`34.2xx

0`28.0xx
0`49.9xx
1`10.9xx
1`29.8xx

Total 3`04.1xx

I've got a 3'05.2xx and we'll see how I go with it. I dunno how you got a 1'27 Shaun, but I was using 210 km/h. I'll try 310 at some point in the near future

SCRATCH ALL OF THE ABOVE

I just changed to 310 and the very first lap I hit a 32.1xx at T1 so all my above calculations are out the window

Update:

At first I had a hard time getting under 1'31 but now it's going really well and I'm not losing that much time at T1 anymore (thanks for the help MinorShunt!).

Fastest lap so far: 1'30.445
It's dirty (hit that stupid tirewall before T2), but it shouldn't be too hard to set a clean lap.

This combo suits my driving style PERFECT!!! :) City courses seem to be my thing for some reason...

Well I have a clean and reasonably fast race saved:

0`32.657 (seen 0`31.9xx)
0`54.323
1`15.662
1`34.323 (1.0 can be found on this lap)

0`28.043 (seen 0`27.7xx)
0`49.897
1`10.800
1`29.530 (0.5 can be found on this lap)

Total: 3`03.853

I'll have to be right on the money to get a 3'02.xxx but that's what I'm aiming for. I may be taking some corners inefficiently so I'll be keen to see Matt or Dan have a crack so I can see where I'm taking corners wrong.

just letting u know of a few times which i have found out, seattle course, someone has a 29 for GTIRN, and madforce has a low 1'06.0xx time for grandvalley east reverse race. good luck fellas, hope u achieve ur goal times in ur individual races;)

after 2 days without playing, i got a new time:

1´26´328

now i think i have to get a 25 to compete. if you guys found out that someone is already at 1´25, please let me know...

Yo, Colby.

Had a run at this a few times over the weekend. Came up against the Evo IV rally car mostly. I didn't seem to have any real dramas getting past him, if I had a normal take-off (as opposed to an awesome launch). I'd just steer left a little after the start, and the evo would cross my bows. From there I'd make sure I went fairly deep into the first corner and "diamond" it off a little, get straight and then I wouldn't have to worry.

My best race is a 3'02.4xx, but I'm sure there is more time to find.

Best lap in time trial is a 1'28.4, best lap in the race is a 1'29.0 (I think).

I'm using 230 gearing, making sure I upshift as soon as it gets close to 6 grand. Don't bother waiting for the redline, these cars have more torque than top-end power.

Quick run down of my lap, through the 1st corner in 3rd initially, get it straight early then punch 4th, maybe 5th before braking for the tight hairpin right. Take that neatly in 2nd, change up to 3rd as soon as you can. Keep pulling gears as you approach T1, I pull 6th just before I take off.

Land, turn and down to 4th, over the second crest sideways with the wheels just touching the ground. Pull 5th halfway round the left sweeper, then down to 3rd for the tight left-right. I use a lot of sideways through these, especially the right because the exit is uphill and you can really throw it in and rely on the slope to pull you straight.

Across the wooden bridge changing up to 5th, then slight braking, down to 4th and big sideways again for the right. If I line it up nicely I get a good line for the left, down to 3rd briefly then upshifting again as I drift out to the exit lining up for the T3 jump. A good run out of there sees me at 180 as I go over the jump, back to 4th and an early entry for the left. Short shift again, up to 6th just before you come over the brow at 150, then the last right is easy flat, keeping it just sideways enough to make the corner without washing off too much speed.

race 1: 1.00,8
race 2: 1.06,113
race 3: 1.30,487
race 5: 1.28.2
race 7: 3.02,9 / 2'59.xxx
race 8: 5.43,3
race 10: 14.22,4

I've got my race 3 down to 30.3 something. My school holidays start next monday (19th) so I'll have a full week with nothing on to next down to that 29 if I don't get it this week.

Excellent 👍

One of the top posts are updated with the drivers lineup from other boards.

Where did you get those times from Dion? Race 10 time of 14'22.xxx is way slow! Right now I am down to a (dirty) 14'05.xxx and I can see more to get. I have not found the perfect AI lineup yet (0 difficulty set, on S1's), and that will make the difference I think. There seems to be many different lineups!

Also, if someone has some time, I would like to know how good a single lap time of 1'23.1xx is in arcade race mode with full fuel. I am using the Lotus 111R '04 with 0,-10 quick tune, S3 tires and strong tire wear per the race specs. My goal is to have all laps except the outlap in the 1'23 range. I may be able to get a high 1'22 on the last couple of laps, but haven't done it yet. I also haven't been able to get the 1'23 time on lap 6 when passing the AI for the second time.

Finally, I would like to get some opinions on how fast the final high speed turn can be taken on DF. Right now I can take it at about 110MPH consistently. Much work to be done, but hope to have a clean competitive race by end of the week for review. 👍

Will test tommorow when i wake up 👍

I got the times from the grapevine, i dont know where any came from, but some are good, others are not.

think im up against tannis, and whoever gets closest or into the 51's will win

0'25.789
1'11.692
--------
2'01.432 ~ this was done without TCS ( and i will never get it again )

0'25.856
1'11.652
--------
2'01.5xx ~ this is without TCS

~ and if i use TCS, i lose .4 the next lap

~ so if anyone can find me a dream combo, ill keep playing ~ other then that, im pretty much stuck on 52.3xx-.4xx

had a quick 20 minute session on Colby's race and managed a 3'03.635 running exactly what VTR said to do, second lap was a 1'29.5xx i think, forget what the first lap was... will put some more time in and see if i can find something quicker for you Colby... done another 2 races, and they have been 3'03.6 as well, with a bit of difference between each lap... probably another 2.0 left in it, maybe more...

EDIT: 3'02.565 with laps of 1'33.538 👍 and 1'29.047 👎 dirty lap, tapped a wall that cost me a couple of tenths...

Well I feel like I have pretty good control of the car, I just don't have the natural rallying knack, once I see a replay or two I'm sure I can replicate fairly well and cut some time. Thanks for the help Andrew 👍

no dramas mate, i enjoyed that little session, havent been on Swiss Alps since that WRS race with the evil little Lancia... same direction as well so it was quite easy to pick up...

had a 2 hour session at colbys and managed to do one HELL of a race of 2'57.019, was pretty much insanity, both laps were like .5secs beyond my previous limit. i reckon it would be one hell of a task to break the 2'57 barrier, almost impossible realistically, it was just one of those races were each corner u just nail.

You are the man Dan, I'll check that out tonight after work 👍 And thanks to Andrew for his replay, I've already spotted ways to get faster

in the last 30 minutes i got these

3'52.295
3'52.310
3'52.338

4 straight days of this, time to turn the ps2 off

0`31.759
0`53.749
1`14.355
1`32.848

0`27.830
0`49.797
1`10.334
1`28.733

Total: 3`01.581

Hoping to get into the 3'00.xxx, all my best splits would indicate I can do it 👍

somehow i feel bored with GT4... still, minor improvment

1´26´301 i still need 0´5 to get the perfect lap...

please, anybody with NTSC, check those replays for me:tup:

Down to 3`01.272...getting faster 👍

Beat my time. But I'm unhappy. Why?

My Time/Splits
1'30.252
T1 - 30.012
T2 - 1'10.902

Dan's Time/Splits
1'29.766
T1 - 29.615
T2 - 1'10.585

Which means in the T1-T2 Sector: Dan ran a 40.970, I ran a 40.890... (-090)
T2 - Finish: Dan ran a 19.181, I ran a 19.350...(+.169)
Start - T1: Dan ran a 29.615, I ran a 30.012... (+.397!!)

So if I can do the rest of this lap, with even a semi good T1 split, I should be able to get a 1'29.

I'll go back to banging my head against the wall now.
