Its **** all, 1 beat ****e music, rap IMO is the ****test form of music to ever exsist, I hate it, it only has 1 beat, and talks about bollocks 24/7...

You're right F2002! You reminded me of all that "alternative" music. You got guys playing 3 chords, yelling into the microphone, and jumping into empty swimming pools.

5 out of 5. IMO, you guys mught disagree but rock and alternative and that **** give me headaches, my parents listen to rap too so... hahaha my mom likes Cash Money and my dad like DMX, weird huh?

You have wicked parents.

There's nothing inherently wrong with rap. It can be interesting when the focus is on the music. The real thing that makes me hate it is rappers themselves.

First off, 99% of all rap songs are about, well, rap. Admit it - the lamest rock and roll songs are the ones that refer to rock and roll. So rap songs are starting out with a strike against them just for that.

Second off, all rap videos are the same. Once - just ONCE - I'd like to see a rap video that didn't start off with that blink/fade scene edit, that wasn't shot through a wide angle lens mounted on the floor, and that didn't feature a crowd of bikini chicks, a lot of stupidly expensive cars, a huge mansion, and in general too much conspicuous consuption for its own sake. I mean, there are numerous rock videos where you never even SEE the band. Just once I'd like to see a rapper NOT rub all of his **** in everybody's face.

If ever there was a genre that was born from selling out, rap is it. It's all about making enough name that you can get signed for a huge advance. After that it's all about making sure everybody else knows you got signed for a huge advance.

I'm not impressed.

raps good. if you dont like techno and you want good bass lines...raps the ticket.

ive gotta admit, some of them talk a lot of BS but ill give rap a 4.

Somebody who likes rap, please respond to my post above. Is there any more to it than that? I've never seen anything.

I think you're entirely correct. Just don't listen to the mainstream **** that is on the radio and MTV.

Indeed, Nelly, Eminem and all these other "kings of the rap industry" make me barf.

Rap doesn't always have to suck, I myself love the old school and old school style rap. It's a nice change from the mindless Nelly/Jayz/Ludacris/P Diddy/Eminem crap you mostly hear. Rap sucks when it's a bunch of mindless morons bragging about how much money they have and how many hoes they've ****ed. But if you go beyond that and listen to such great groups as Jurassic 5, Pharcyde, The Roots, Public Enemy, and the Beastie Boys...You'd realize that rap can be clever, meaningful, and often times (in the case of Pharcyde) hilarious...I'd suggest any of you rap haters check out some of the rap that isn't the mindless MTV garbage.

Well if that doesn't convince you neon, I don't know what will.

Like I said, there is nothing wrong with the IDEA of rap. The only 'rap' (if it's called that, maybe hiphop, but I don't want to misuse terms I don't really understand) that I like are the Beasties, De La Soul, G Love & Special Sauce, etc. I like some of the older stuff like Run-DMC, middle-skool stuff like Cypress Hill. Stuff where there is a tune, where there is some funk mixed in, where it sounds like they're having fun.

I've got no patience whatsoever for cockiness, and 98% of rap seems to be cockiness personified. The last thing in the world I want to hear is a crowd of arrogant punks brag about their money, their cars, their clothes, and their guns. Big deal. I've also got a lot of problem with the hatred and attitudes in some of it.

But thanks for taking the time to explain!

Is there anybody else who didn't understand a word of what he said? :thatsodd:

Actually, I like some rap. But generally, I have to agree with my kids. They see the word "rap" as an abbreviation....
