Stop playing the sound threw your TV speakers, and stop using the race transmission.
At the same time some of the sounds need a little more umph, enhancing so to speak.

Well we talked about this in tons of threads and this is a problem. Hope it will be fixed for GT6.

Still Forza is not a good example for engine sounds...SimBin games are in that case.

To be fair, switching from TV speakers to a proper surround sound setup does improve the sound. It doesn't fix all the sound problems, but it does make it better.

Thats only because the surround sound has a better system to produce the sounds.

Regardless of whats used the sounds are created as they are and could do with improvement.

If you have SRS Tru Surround XT available on your TV like mine, use it and alter the EQ to make the high freq cleaner, an improvement nonetheless. Or if you have AVR + surround speaker set, use DTS or multi channle LPCM, another way is to use stereo GT5 output + DSP to make the sound better, DTS NEO 3CH Cinema, Logic 7, Dolby 3 Stereo or SRS Tru Surround XT, depend on the brand of the AVR, they make GT5 sounds "better" for certain people when combined with EQ adjustments.

While some cars are a little off, most cars are spot on in the sound department and far far better than anything GT5 has produced. As for sim Bin games, the new GTR 3 sound samples sound amazing the rest of the games aren't better than forza

Forza 4 sounds absolutely fantastic through my TV speakers. Amazing, isn't it?

Buy a cheap second hand analog compressor & EQ, set it up so that the engine sounds are louder/dirtier/meatier. Job done! 👍
