Looks like ps4/xboxone only atm. Sad day ;_; Not like I dont own both but still I prefer to play on pc.

So, uh... Guess I should play RDR at some point in the next year then, huh?
Definitely, the game may start to feel a bit tedious after a few sessions but once you head back up north it becomes a great game. I hope you've made it to this point without having the game spoilt for you, if you have avoid spoilers at all costs.

*slaps SlipZtrEm on the wrists for not having done so already* ;)

I was supremely late joining the last generation (got my PS3 summer 2010), so I've missed out on quite a lot of games that came out before a certain fifth iteration of a popular racing series...

:(

That is definitely my biggest issue with RDR, it starts off sooooo slow while it tries to teach you everything. It almost puts me off replaying it because it's a few hours of tedium before it really gets going.

It's really a good mix of GTA with Elder Scrolls titles (i'd extending that to the Fallout games too, but i've never played them to confirm). It's, as you'd imagine, GTA physics engine with a slower pace and more barren, but no less detailed, maps which gives it a more Elder Scrollsie feel. No bad thing IMO.

I also missed out on RDR first time around so I can't wait to play the second one. Especially after enjoying GTAV.

Looks like it's the old gang as in the leaked info from a while back (credit to whoever made this image)

The first redemption wasn't on PC because the code was a mess. Made between iterations of the engine and no actual documentation as to what does what. I doubt they've made that mistake twice so PC will no doubt get this game, 12 months later-ish..

GTA-O reportedly makes Rockstar nearly $1B/year through microtransactions. There is no way they are not doing RDR-O
Exactly my thoughts, with that considered it would be a surprise if the game didn't come out on PC eventually as well. Rockstar would be losing out on hundreds of millions of dollars in microtransactions by not making a PC version.

So it's a continuation of the story? can't wait to see what they've done, welcome to this generation R*.

Me also, but seeing as I still have my PS3 I'm sure I'll be able to find the time to play the first one before 2 is released :)

RDR is one of my all time favorite games...So so hope this comes to PC (with not too much of a delay).
Swapped all my gaming over to PC now so don't really want to be forced to buy a PS4 just for this.

That's a longer wait than i hoped.
I have never heard of a major release that was published within months of its announcement. It was always going to be about a year between announcement and release.

So it's a continuation of the story?
I don't see how that can work, sunce the first game was set at the very end of the Wild West, and all of the major characters are dead.

Wow not even any confirmation of a PC release, does anyone remember if the PC version was announced when the first GTA 5 announcement was made? I don't mind waiting, the PC version of GTA 5 was worth the wait but damn that's cold if they don't give us the game at all.

I'm very happy this is now official as the rumors of it's existence were a big factor in me jumping to the current gen of consoles.

I think I may have to take advantage of RDR being BC on the One as a refresher course.

Revolver rather did the classic Spaghetti Western well. And Redemption did somewhat of a deconstruction of the romanticised Old West, whilst also addressing the death of it. Where can Redemption go after that? It could be a prequel to Redemption (making 'Redemption' a redundant title in the process) but that would make all the character development in Redemption rather pointless. It'd be interesting to see how Marston's life was prior to Redemption. But your actions as the player in Redemption 2 could make all of Marston's personal development look rather shallow.
Not to mention it'd be yet another take on the Old West, circa 1890. As if that hasn't been done to death.

One way they could avoid that is to instead make it take place in an area that had a very similar social and geological environment to the American Old West: 1880s South and Western Australia. A massive gold rush during that time meant that outlaws or bushrangers grew exponentially more common. Stealing, robbing, murder, living in the wilderness. It is a time period very underrepresented in media.

Another idea is 1890s South Africa. In a few years, South Africa became the supply for more than 20% of the world's gold. Again, crime ran rampant. Not to mention the constant fight for survival in a desert environment, and the many dangerous and almost fantastical beasts of central and Southern Africa. Along with fighting and existing with African tribes, and the growing animosity between British and Dutch settlers.

It's supposed to be a prequel, that's what I'm hearing. I'm ok with online, as long as the single player campaign doesn't suffer because of it. I wasn't impressed with GTA V's single player campaign, it was alright but could of been a lot better. RDR is one of my favorite games ever, this one has some big shoes to fill, for me anyways.

That sounds fantastic, but they'd never do it. It's unfortunate that they - and so many other developers - seem intent on relying purely on American history in games. Assassin's Creed III was presented as being significant and profound, but was incoherent to me, and I had no awareness of the historical significance of parts of Fallout 4.

After me telling all how much i loved RDR, most people suggested Creed III. However, I wasn't convinced by the handful of reviews I read.

It'll come to PC at some point, I imagine they're worried about lower PC game price cannibalizing more expensive console copies. Well, that and piracy.

AC3 was horrible. It felt like a really dry history lecture. But IV seamlessly mixes land exploration with naval combat, which is a lot of fun. However, the series has really poor replay value.
