Do any on you get attached to your horse... Mine may not be the fastest or the best looking but we've been through so much together I really don't want another. Yesterday Sweetheart was shot during a bridge crossing holdup, I thought it was over but luckily I was able to revive! Not that all has been roses, I once accidently punched her (hit wrong key) which she followed with a good swift kick sending me flying. But, all was forgiven and we rode off to explore. She's my partner in crime and we have each others back

Yes.

I want to have 4 different horses for different purposes and I don't want to get rid of my "main" one.

There are so many beautiful and good horses in the game. I want them all!

I think I'm buying a Turkoman next. They're strong and decently fast without being too bulky.

I'm still upset that my horse that I had since Valentine died with no way to get it back. Poor horse. I even named him "Trusty Stead"...which he was (I realized I misspelled it when I got the trophy). He's survived several falls down mountains, as well as ambushes from Lemoyne raiders, train robberies...but he ultimately could not survive in the end. Haven't checked the stables, but I assume he won't be there.

I also had one of those zebra-looking horses that was hitched up in camp, but somehow it unhitched itself and just wandered around the map aimlessly. Always wanted to put it in a stable, but I ended up having to use another wild horse, so I think I lost it for good.

Yeah, that was a sad moment. I had 2 horses with Arthur but the second one I got it very early in the game. I had to revive him once but other than that he held himself very well through out the 6 chapters.

Now I have " Rachel" with lvl 4 bonding but I will sell it. It has a unique color that can't be found anywhere else in the game (like Arthur's first horse) but everyone who plays the game has the exact same horse ^^. And since it's not a particularly good one, I'll get something different.

Tomorrow I want to get/have:

- All black American Standardbred (bad stats but beautiful coat. Almost level 4 bonding atm).

- Silver Turkoman (Strong, and Fast with a nice looking coat. The Black and Brown one looks pretty good as well).

- Rose Grey Arabian (Fancy and best stats but I won't use it as a main horse).

- Tiger Striped Bay Mustang (Sturdy and apparently doesn't get spooked easily, like Arabians. I need to catch it tomorrow).

I will sell 'the" Thoroughbred and the White Arabian (both maxed out atm). It's too damn bright! and is only good at the beginning of the game because it's free. By the end, there are better options.

Funny fact. Today I saw a guy riding a small donkey (really small!) ^^. The poor animal looked tired as hell. I'll share a screenshot tomorrow. I only thought about killing the guy and trying to get the donkey when I was far away from the place... I might try to go to the same place (if I remember it) to try and get the mini donkey. :p

I happened to see a youtube video that blew my mind of how many eastereggs are in this game. I dont consider them spoilers, but I'll hide them anyhow. But these eastereggs, will definately keep me playing after I finish the main story. Most of these I want to discover myself too. So much gameplay and I amnot even taking in account online. There might be loads of easter eggs, that maybe arent even discovered yet.

There are multiple bigfoot, multiple UFO's, ghosts, zombies, vampire, mutants, robots, movie references etc.

You do realise you control the horse yourself? I got my level 4 bonding dappled thoroughbred killed, because I used the cinematic mode autodrive feature. I went out for a smoke, came back and apparantly respawned with a tenessee walker, with my thoroughbred nowhere to be found. RIP

Nah I turned on autopilot.

Thanks for being polite and helping out a 'blind' man who asked to stop while on my way to a village. I gave him some help then he ran to my horse and he was gone with the wind. From now on I will use my Winchester if someone approaches me. Bought a new horse. Named him Bob Marley and gave him some dreadlocks and a rastafaria tail

This RDR2 game is the best I've ever played in this genre. Also saw on Youtube spoiler free funny moments compilations. Hilarious!

John Marston was shot in the shoulder and left for dead. He looked like he was beat to hell, and that he had barely managed to even get to camp. But all of a sudden, his wound healed, all the blood on him just disappeared, and he looked able to do things. He never handled a two handed weapon, but I definitely saw him climb rocks using both hands to help him get up and the wound was never seen or mentioned again. It just miraculously healed.

There was this one guy that said to me "I paid top dollar for this horse, wanna race?", beat him pretty easily since he got bucked off a bunch of times by it. But i never was able to inspect the horse to see what kind it was. I lasso'd the guy off and tied him up, but the horse disappeared. Couldn't find it anywhere in the area. And it's stupid too because there was a giant open field, with a wooded area behind it. Searched the field, nope. Searched the wooded area, nope. Gone forever I suppose.

The donkey I mentioned yesterday ^^

There's some great deals on the 1X at the moment in the US & the UK :)

I honestly thought about that, but I've spent quite a bit of money over the last month (new car + about $300 in work tools) so I can't really justify a new console at the moment. Seems power supplies aren't too terribly expensive though so I will just try replacing it in a few weeks and hope that works. At least RDR isn't one of those games where you miss a bunch of stuff if you don't play it for awhile.

I guess black friday cant come soon enough.

So it's confirmed, some side quests will disappear if you progress into the main story. Another reason for a second play through ^^

I'm having lots of fun hunting and exploring the world now. Found 6 gold bars yesterday! One of them I had to get some help from google as I could get the location from the drawing. :D

I'm at 86% of completion and still have tones of things to do and find!

Its amazing how well written this game is that it made me like Arthur so much. To make people like and root for a Ruthless murdering outlaw so much goes to show how good if a job they did.

Im glad i got the good ending, Thankfully i had good honor. The horse death rivaled arthurs in sadness. You could tell it was coming with arthur but it came as such a surprise. The way arthur said his goodbye, Just a really beautiful heartfelt thank you... Perfect. First thing i did when i got enough money with John was purchase another black arabian filly. Name? Arthurs Girl 👍

I already had such a suspicion. I am trying to do the storymission at a slower pace because of this suspicion. I have the official guide on order so hopefully will give me some insight what I am possibly missing.

This game keeps surprising me. I encountered the KKK again during another funny instance. In a 3 hour session I managed to tame a wild white Arabian and a wild grey thoroughbred and encounter "Margaret" and the strange brother and sister.

I ran across the KKK again too. This time it was just 3 of them. It was funny to watch. Let's just say i didn't have to kill them this time lol.

If anyone wants to see the girl in the outhouse here is a link to my YouTube video
Afterwards I came across an escaped prisoner in shackles.

I had many more random encounters though I havent. I have never played in an open world, with so many random and original encounters with NPC's that add so much to the experience.

Rockstar does a great job throwing random stuff in their open worlds. I have sat down intending to get through some missions and get side tracked. I have spent a lot of time just wandering around and finding crazy stuff.

Yeah I ran into the KKK twice and tried to kill as many as I could and even the leader lol. But not until the second time around was I able to take him out.. I like the mechanics of the game too, like if someone see's you commit a murder or crime, just keep killing people until they're until to report it anymore haha.

I found an old cave/coal mine yesterday and had to blow up the entrance to get in it.. still not sure if I want to explore it because after some talks from this thread I know there's going to be some messed up stuff in it. As well as a lot of places I've come a crossed recently of some pretty heinous acts to old bodies throughout the place.

Yeah there are some disturbing things in the game. I just saw a video earlier warning about some strange guy that will "violate" you. If an encounter is suspicious I try to manual save it, because these random encounters wont give you the option to retry like sidemission or storymissions.

I usually try to chase the witness if I know who it is. Once I chased him and hit O to tackle him and accidentally tackled a police officer :scared: oops lol

I was thinking about the cooking in the game. I just wish it was more similar to Zelda botw. There are so many more ways to cook and explore recipes. Cooking is just an afterthought in this game. Most of RDR2 you are only hunting for pelts and not for the meat, While in Zelda I was really trying to explore the world to get specific ingedients for risotto, stew, sushi etc.

I think the implementation should have been much better.

Needless to say, it's an impressive game. It's a digital organism, a very believable world with few foibles to challenge that immersion. There are still loopholes in the various AIs that control everything (including your own character, with amusing or annoying results), but The Last Guardian is the only other game I've played with AI this convincing. The sense of scale and attention to detail are astonishing. :)

I am more impressed with the story than I expected, though about the best I can say is that I generally like the characters and I'm interested to know what happens next (around 50% on the save file). That's way more than could ever be said for GTA. @Mrs Wolfe accurately summarizes these games as sharing one primary source of conflict -- your character really needs better friends.

Unfortunately I'm not sure the gameplay does all it can to capitalize on the complexity and detail. It's a living, breathing open world...until something scripted is happening and certain actions are locked or the scenario "shuts down" because it can't account for your choice of action. The game accounts for everything from your body temperature and cleanliness to the condition of your weapons...but with little impact or consequence in normal play.

I'm glad Rockstar avoided making things into tedious chores, but they remain sticklers on certain things while other details don't seem important enough. You are required to stand in a very particular way to change clothes when standing next to your horse -- because of how the animation is rigged, for "realism" -- but they couldn't be bothered to encourage us to bathe or clean our weapons after wading through a soupy swamp?

I can see that actions in the story are definitely dumbed down to help with progression, but I'm pretty annoyed by the achievement of "Complete within 1 minute 30 seconds" that is never possible the first time around it seems. I wish the cooking was a little better thought out but I definitely benefit from cooking explosive bullets just to rid my satchel of animal fat, but with the need to store more.

Perfect pelts got a lot easier to source when I started looking at the amount of stars in the bottom right corner whenever I would view an animal. But individual ingredients are tedious to track down in the open world by horse or just walking around.

Finally spent some time at home today, got to Chapter 2. Now to play with the camera.
