I Don't like how in the story they never give you any time to loot bodies after a gunfight, there is soo much you miss out on because of this.

With you on that. Always end up getting busted by a civilian NPC when I stay behind to loot bodies.

I always try to loot as I go, unless it’s a time sensitive quest. Even if one of my gang members keeps telling me to hurry up, I still take my time and loot. It’s a PITA to do it after the quest.

Just saw the end credits. What a masterpiece this is. And as I was watching it, I was thinking to myself how games, and particularly story driven games, have come such a long way.

I didn't want it to end. I lost count to how many times I was left speechless and in awe of what I was watching / playing. I confess there were also a couple of moments that brought a tear to my eye, such is the quality of the story, voice acting, motion capture and overall realistic mood of the cutscenes.

I've always liked and played GTA games, since they were in 2D. But RDR2 is on a completely different level, even compared to GTA V IMO.

I won't spoil anything but I'll just ask you not to skip the end credits (yeah, some people do that ^^). It's worth your time. Also, there's someone in there who played guitar, keyboard, bass... "and all kinds of weird instruments". ^^

I can now say this is GoTY for me. I think the deciding factor for me is the historically grounded (and accurate replication) of the world and the story.

If GOW wins though, that's great too. It deserves.

Since you brought the comparison, I still rate GoW higher. The lore and story have more depth and I am a sucker for mythology. You cant compare the 2 directly since they are different games, but GoW mad much more of an impact on me then RDR2. To be fair I am still only at the start of Chapter 3.

You can compare them though. That's what GoTY is all about: comparing games.

I love GoW. I just prefer RDR2 because of personal preference. You prefer mithology, I prefer more historically or realistic grounded games. But being at the beginning of Chapter 3, you still have lots to see and play. :) I only came to my conclusion after finishing the game.

I am just happy that these companies still invest in single player experiences. I almost never play multiplayer and have been disappointed how singleplayer franchises are being killed off left and right by primarily EA. GTA and probably RDR2 is the best example how you can build superb single player experience and superb multiplayer (so Ive heard).

In my session yesterday I am realising more and more how huge this game is. I found the dinosaur lady a while ago and still havent encountered any dinosaur bones yet in the many hours I already spent in the game.

The games I've bought or played in the last year were almost all singleplayer:

- Project Cars 2 (played mostly offline)
- GT Sport (the only multiplayer game I play and the game I've spent most time on ^^)
- The Witcher 3
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- The Witness
- Shadow of the Colossus
- Bloodborne (PS+)
- God of War
- No Man's Sky (I consider this a single player game and I spent maybe 100h in it)
- Spider Man
- Red Dead Redemption 2

Most of them are single player and competed / are competing for or won GoTY in the last 3 years.

I'm not that far through RDR2 yet, can you buy properties, or is that set to be on online only feature?

I'm really curious for the online! :) And I never cared for GTA Online. Just for have more things to do in RDR2's world is enough for me. ^^

No. You'll have a property but it's part of the story line. You can't buy any other properties or upgrade the one you get.

Thanks @zzz_pt

It's been discovered that buying properties looks like it will be a thing in RDR:O ... shame they're still holding stuff back for online only.

Yeah. The point in the story at which you do get a property suggests you'll be able to upgrade it at least and buy new things. :) I went back to the place where you get the materials for the property but I couldn't interact with the NPCs ^^.

Edit: spent 500$ in clothing yesterday... but I can only carry 3 outfits on the horse :/ One of them has to be for cold weather, then Only 2 others. I'd like to be able to stow at least a couple more.

Also hunted down 13 of the 14 legendary animals from the main 3 areas of the map. The Alligator wasn't there (I got a message saying there was too much activity in the area so he wasn't around... maybe I need to come back in the middle of the night...that will be fun, with all the aligators in the swamps ^^). Now I need to hunt the 3 ones left in New Austin.

You can upgrade your saddle bags to carry more outfits and hats. I think I can carry 5 outfits now.

Hmmm. I have to check that then. I think I can't upgrade my saddle any more. Maybe I missed something. :)

Seen people talk of fishing in here, is this actually a thing ?
Is it something that gets unlocked later in the game ? I'm still only on chapter 2 but haven't found anything like this yet.

Only getting to play maybe an hour each night but having a great time, do a mission, go exploring and hunting, go to bed and look forward to more of the same the next night :)
When I first played RDR1 it quickly became one of my all time favorite games, I said to myself it would take an incredible effort to top that experience if they make a RDR2, I actually doubted they could or would even do it....Fast forward to 2018 and they did it ! Not even that far through the game and I know this game has already joined my all time favorite list

Fishing will be unlocked in the story missions. Not going to spoil when ofcourse.

Abigail asks Arthur if he can take Jack fishing sometime in Chapter 2. You probably aren't too far away from it.

I want to find a big bulky black horse but it's been difficult. Basically I want one exactly like the horse we take to the stable to sell (Chapter 1) but I can't see them. I see dark brown, white, caramel but no all black. :/

I've been to every stable too. I need to be more attentive to random coaches and try to steal one when I see it.

There's a mission on chapter 4 I think where you go with 2 other gang members to steal 3 big horses (1 white, 1 black and one brown) but now if I go to the same place, there are no horses there.

I have a similar list to you.
But instead of spending 100+ hrs in no mans sky, I spent 100+ hrs in Zelda Botw.

I havent regretted using the gold bar glitch yet. The cheapest way to get rid of the wanted level is spending time in prison or pay the bounty. I really think the lawmen are way too aggressive in the game, so I have no regrets that I have the freedom to pay off bounties even if they are several hundred dollars. The downside is you are less enclined to go robbing or looting all the bodies. But I am enjoying the gameplay nonetheless. Are there any very expensive stuff you can buy later in the game?

Pretty amazing vistas. I've been slowly making my way through the story, though delayed by exploration. The first thing I did once I was able to get out of snow was ride to the south shore and steal a canoe. I then upgraded to a stolen steamboat in New Orleans and made my way up the east coast. Once I reached the NE boundary I traversed the north boundary by horse hunting and gathering along the way to get an outline of the map.

Since then I've been sprinkling in some missions between roaming around and mapping the real life landmarks. Like GTA, there are a lot of liberties taken and some features that are combinations of two or more areas which can make it difficult to positively identify certain points. Possibility for tours exists.

I don't have a switch yet but I'll buy it sooner or later to play Zelda and SM Odyssey. :)

I didn't use any glitch because I was very careful with my game style. :) Also, there's nothing really that expensive in the game. Horses, clothes and nothing more. If you're reckless and careless, of course paying bounties and "revives" can get rather expensive...

When you finish the game you get 20.000$ to do whatever you want. I bought pretty much already and still have 18.900$. I had pretty much all the guns I wanted already before end game. Now I want to buy the rest of the items from the trapper and fencer (3.000 is more than enough) and maybe get another Arabian. Clothes are not that expensive and some of the items are dispensable.

I still find random items to sell from gunfights with other gangs ( jewelry, gold, money), from hunting (perfect pelts) and other small things.

I haven't tried fishing that much. I still have to go to the fishing shop ^^.

All in all, there's no need for money glitches unless you want to be an outlaw and don't worry with the mechanics of actually having the money to balance your crimes.

Once online comes, probably you'll get tones of chances to spend. ^^

Not going to be tempted by spoilers here!:ouch:

I am not going to play this game online though. Lots of games I still want to finish or start with.

I need to figure out a better way to make money. I have a $300 bounty on my head because of a mission I completed and I only have $177. Tried selling some pelts and playing poker, while those are fun, those aren't exactly money makers....yet.

I was in the highlands or something and saw a horses color as Black, but didn't actually look at it or check any deeper. It was apart of someones camp.

I might have an issue with accumulating horses though. Much like Fallout 4, I collected a ton of power armor and never used it. Now I have been collecting horses left and right and never one to get rid of my Arabian until I find something cooler.

I then upgraded to a stolen steamboat

Whoa. I'm currently into chapter III and I've seen plenty of steamboats after buying the canoe upgrade for the camp and traveling around the area but had no idea that you could steal them. Nice. 👍

It was a small runabout. The larger steam trawlers and such are not operable. Those large ones you see going up and down the river a distance from shore are just props. The windows are all tinted, you cannot enter the pilothouse or anything, and there are no npcs on board.

Steamboat Schultz.....denied ;)
