The car is fun. I've gotten use to the 600, so I'll probably jump back to the 1000 to give it another go.

i just downloaded the mod, i see what you mean!

Anytime you downshift you just seem to spin out, quite frustrating, also the throttle seems to be either on or off.. but the mod has alot of potential.

I switched to chase cam and hit the rear view. When the car is on the brakes, the front wing/wing supports are dragging the ground. With the limited setup adjustments, it didn't fix the issue so it would take some editing of the HDV file I think. Probably something regarding the collision feelers.

I first noticed the sparking from the AI as they were passing me in the braking zones as I was taking it extremely easy to not spin out.

hi

a new video on Nordschleife with BMW M1 mod DRM
Hope you like

a greeting

Nice video digiprost. 👍

And while we're waiting for the Stingray to come out imminently (and maybe Willow Springs at some point if we're lucky...), here is some exclusive new unseen footage of the Corvette Stingray at Willow Springs... :sly:

I recently put together a new pc in anticipation of the next generation of simulators. In the mean time, I have been playing with rfactor.

I play off line and am more into the immersion/realism aspect of driving simulators than I am in racing. Just sharing some of the things I've been able to do with my new computing power.

First FOV (field of view)
This link explains the hows and whys of setting up a realistic FOV better than I could.http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/93-Setting-up-your-rFactor-FOV-Tutorial

I will say that there is no one other thing you can do to enhance the sense of realism in a driving simulator; The perception of speed, elevation, radius of curves are all highly affected by the FOV settings.

The are some real drawbacks though. Primarily unless your display is the size of a wall you just cannot see much. ( I am using a 27" monitor set close enough I can touch it with my fingers while my hands are on the wheel yet I could not see my mirrors or instruments on most mods.) Also the head motion can become disconcerting. The work-arounds I have found for these problems are:
Realheadmotion plugin link here.

http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/3743-Real-Head-Motion-Plugin-1-0

and "Facetracknoir" tutorial found here

http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=215382

They are not perfect but complete effect can be sublime. I was prompted to write this post after a few laps of ISI's Lienz 24 gp track using the Historix mod. (BTW the 1600cc Alfa GTA may be the sweetest, best balanced car I've found in rfactor. 👍)

ps: I'll have no trouble waiting a few months for Assetto Corsa.

Nice post. Is it true I need GTR Evo in order to play with the VLN 2005 mod on Rfactor? By the way, I still can't get Rfactor to my liking, would anyone mind posting up their in game "wheel settings" and their settings in their wheel profiler (Logitech Profiler for me, G27).A screen shot would be ideal if its not to much trouble. I already have real feel and all that installed.

I found this trailer for the World Endurance Mod, a mod with based on endurance racing (go figure) with around 70 cars from the 80's to the 10's. It's been in development for nearly four years and it's scheduled to be released within the next two weeks. It looks really promising, hopefully looks won't be deceiving this time! It's also compatible with the RFE plugin released a while back.

So, did this turn out to be "vaporware"?

Great vid Sandman!

Here's a couple of vids on the new Neuplanitz track...
10 minute race which I blew right at the end :dunce:

(it's uploading but should be visible in a few minutes if YT will only hurry up...)

And the hotlap...

(By the way I'm a rank amateur when it comes to driving so there are some aids involved. I wouldn't pretend to be in the same league as you guys :guilty:

Full recap from the 2.4 Hours of Daytona on CMS using EnduRacers LMP2 and GT2.

Started second to last out of 37 cars total because I missed qualifying... as I expected.
Made a pretty awesome start. Made up eight positions in the first lap.

Was able to push forward the next couple laps and made up another seven positions by lap 11. At this point I'm in third place in GT2.
Cruised a bit for the next hour or so in the dark. Pit a lap before Daron Hume (Ferrari F430) who is in the lead and four laps before Greg Hall (Porsche 997) in second who I was catching relatively quickly and only 7 seconds behind when I stopped.
Pit stop when smoothly. Fresh medium tires and a full tank of gas. Turned up the boost, as I knew now was when I could put a dent in Greg and Daron's lead. I see Daron pits, he comes out with the same gap of forty seconds. Then I see Greg pit. Then as I am coming to the finish line. I see the pit out. He came out of the pits side by side with me. I beat him to the hairpin and had the legs coming out. With a lapped GT2 car in front of us and three protos right behind. That was CRAZY. Something happened and Greg lost 20 seconds or so.

I carried on. A few scares. The biggest of which was coming into turn one. I had just been passed by a proto and he broke relatively early. So another proto behind him has no where to go but into the back of him. And I am JUST to the outside of them. I had to get on the gas to avoid them... this is going into turn one!

So I notice with around 27 minutes to go, I have about 30 minutes of fuel left.
I back off a little to conserve the fuel. And Greg starts gaining on me again.
Then with 19 minutes to go, I have 20 minutes of fuel. And now Greg is 5 seconds behind me.

An absolutely amazing battle ensued with about 10 minutes to go (I now had 9 minutes of fuel left).
Back and forth and back and forth. And then a pass around the outside going to the bus stop (I don't know what I was thinking, when I realized what I was doing, I almost s**t myself). And then I ran out of fuel.

I'm not upset though. That was ridiculously fun.

Here are some videos.

Voltaic's video.

Official race report.

I love random YouTube finds. This is awesome.

It's a great video and I love the funky retro French music. 👍

Don't look too closely at all those shots of the start/finish clock though.
Time really DOES stand still at Le Mans

Some great vids of the 2.4hr race. Very impressive run. Not sure i could keep the concentration up that high for that long. I struggle to concentrate for more than a few .....

Where was I?

Here is tonight's disaster... Firstly, a rather major mishap caused by my stupidity :dunce: Luckily I won't do this to any of you as I only drive against AI drivers and don't drive online as, well, I'm crap...

Then a more soothing hot lap with no glaring mistakes (finally). This may be my most successful lap to date on rF

And the full race will be up on my channel by the time most of you see this.
I really love this test track by the way. Graphics are high quality and the U bends make for some interesting racing.

Apologies in advance for my really duff driving :D
I'm off for a beer (can of Duff please Mo )

I remade my Brumos skin. It's much better than the original now. Will probably post it to NoGrip soon.

Great skin Evo 👍

here's a trailer i put together for a new F1 mod :)

Love the vid as I said on YT. :)

Here's a new vid (in 2 parts) of Targa Florio with the pacenotes for anyone who is interested to see how they do in practice. Only third time I've driven the circuit and I'm pretty :yuck: at this even with the pacenotes, so fast forward all the mistakes :ouch:

Any comparison time without the pace notes?

In answer to your question CC570, the time without pacenotes in my case would be DNF

Here's a new vid of Colin McRae driving the new Pikes Peak conversion which has come courtesy of Lemax...

With driving like that, it was a miracle I got to the end
