This is one thing that is missing from all rally games. I would love to see proper, 10 or 15 mile long stages in rally games. Why can't they stream off the HDD or disc? It can't be that impossible, surely?
 
That's sort of what I like bout Dirt 3 is that the stages are nice, wide, and short so I can actually do pretty well online sometimes. But I can see the value of more challenging tracks tho.

I think Dirt 3 is being lazy with streaming in longer levels due to the replays starting up instantly when u finish the race. So it feels like the entire level is loaded at all times
 
I've just bought this game and downloaded a few mods but they just seem to be cars from rfactorcentral, do they have track packs or do I need to download every track by itself? For example the 2005 F1 mod seems to have no tracks, am I missing something?
 
Nope, the mod is just for the cars. You have to find the tracks seperately. I know it's a pain, but it's the only way at the moment, because I don't think there is any one group that has released all 2005 circuits themselves, and rFactorCentral won't make a package to download as a whole due to copyright issues. The only one I have seen is the 2011 F1 pack by ModF1RS. It also includes GP2 and Formula 3, as well as having links for the trackpack, see below:

That sucks but it will have to work. I'm actually terrible at the game anyways. I was messing around with the rtrainer and it feels impossible to drive compared to the gt5. The only aid I am using is low anti-lock breaks and I seem to be either way off the pace (offline race weekend) or I manager to spin about once a lap.
 
That rTrainer car is awesomely fun on small tracks like the Toban Small Course.

Since I've installed the game back, I can't stop playing it :grumpy:. I immediately install the Renault Megane Trophy 2.0 and blast off with the online racing. I suck, because I use a keyboard to drive...

Yeah, get out of the standard cars that come with the game, they really are terrible. If you want some easy fun, try the Hot Hatch mod. If you want some real excitement, try the 70's F1 mod, and find some old F1 tracks. Oh my word, it's so hard!
 
I am not very familiar with the Australian V8 Supercar racing series. Which one is the best mod? V8Factor Unleashed?
 
Guys I was playing Enduracers the other day on Spa and the game was runnng just fine on practice and quali with some bugging down as I went pass the pits, but on the race with 32 cars on track it would bug down BIG time to the point where it was impossible to drive! As I got away from the pack it would get better.
My question is, what settings would you recomend to avoid this happening again?
 
Weird I always play with everything turned up to max. Enduracers is one of my top 5 mods and it has always run well on my favorite group of maps. I dont have Spa though. I'm assuming you meant Spa 2009 map? I'll go d/l it

My favorite mods: DRM, DTM, Enduracers, VLN, Grand Slam (Daytona Prototypes), V8 Factor Unleashed, Porche Fabcar,CTDP f1 2006, formula nippon, GP2, f1 2010, cart factor, IZOD IndyCar, and Formula Nippon [edit] To be honest I've probably loved every mod I've downloaded. Just go to rfactorcentral and d/l the most voted mods. Then hit up virtualr and crawl through their rFactor news which covers mods

Eh? I appear to be missing f1 1991 HE I could've sworn I had that installed

V8Factor 2006 is good (it's basically Unleashed's predecessor mod), as is FVR V8SC, although the physics feel a bit strange in the FVR mod.
 
Yeah I agree. Get V8Factor Unleashed but there's something about V8Factor 2006 that I still love.... FVR and the ADN V8 Supercar mod really aren't in the same league as the ORSM mods.
 
Man Enduracers is great, just spent the evening blasting a bunch of protoypes around Laguna Seca, I'd forgotten how good it was! The physics for the GT cars in the mod could be a little better though IMO.

DRM is probably the single best mod for rFactor in my opinion, really great fun to drive, as are AE86 club (especailly on Gunsai touge), and V8Factor Unleashed. Hearing great things about F1SR's GP2 mod, it's on the to-get list so I can compare it to the KS2 in Netkar. Definitely waiting on F1SR 1994 LE.

Just a quickie; anyone know a good version of Road Atlanta? Can't seem to find a decent one, even on F1 Classic.
 
If you're willing to wait abit, I've got one you can download. I've only seen two, one seemingly inaccurate with the pits to the left and not the right and the 2007 one, which has everything right in the right places.
 
Turns out I actually had f1 1991 HE already downloaded. I had it installed on my previous rFactor install but forgotten to reinstall. fixed now 👍

Yeah I've been looking for Road Atlanta as well

Can anyone tell me how to get the full F1-style HUD on rFactor? I've tried using the Multi-HUD mod, but it just doesn't apply the full thing.

Edit: Nevermind, found it. Can't wait to try and obliterate the Qualifying time and fastest race lap.

Edit 2: Done it. Qualifying time for the 6 Hour race this past Saturday - 1'13.927

My Fastest lap - 1'13.085

Can we say, success? :D

Ok, so I tried the game today again with the settings maxed out, 32 cars, 20 visible cars instead of 10 and it's running just fine... Weird...
Anyways! I'm hooked! Anyone interested on a GTP Enduracers league?
