Any word on a release date?
It's either that, GTR2, or an iRacing subscription.

That should've been posted in this thread to begin with, imo.

Tyre wear/flatspots look good 👍

Yeah that rf2 is looking really sweet I thought those vids were impressive 👍

I wonder when this game will really be out tho'. They dont seem to be in a big hurry to get it out

oh ya I agree with Sharky, no need for a new thread for rf2 news

Bear in mind that ISI, the company behind rFactor, is only a small company, and not many people working for them. They will releases it when they are ready, but it does take time to make the tyre deformation that works and doesn't throw up any anomolies.

First time playing rF in months and the cars don't act properly when I take high speed corners. Maybe it's just the way the Fanatec wheels are with the game.

Does anyone have any good street car mods?
I've also been looking for a VW R32, but all I could find was the Cars of the Century mod which has no sound/physics.
Couldn't find anything that appeals to me on rfcentral.

Just found out how to put a Dixie horn on my GTI!
Win!
:dopey:

Was also able to make it an upgrade so I can switch itback to stock easily. 👍

After a while (and since my PS3 is on the verge of seemingly kicking the goat skins), I've decided to come back to the SCE mod. One of the first things I did was download the 2011 update, which features the new Nationwide COT.
Took it for a test drive at both Watkins Glen and Circuit Gilles-Vilenueve and damn, I've gained abit more respect then I already had for any NASCAR driver that can take this car around a road course fast without wrecking because it was difficult for me Just getting it to Slow down and turn like I wanted it to. Once I got the feel for it, I immediately was pounding out 1'15s consistantly and I was having a blast.

Also, I finally understood how to put paint schemes in the game: Instead of the traditional method of putting skins in the respective car folder alongside the veh. files, you put them in that respective manufacter's folder (depending on what series) and in a folder that says "Skins". Once in game and in the car selection, you select the car body you want, then go to skins and choose your paint scheme, kinda like you do on Nascar 09.

Going to do more testing beginning at Richmond And then a Mile 1/2 track. Will be uploading some pictures from each session.

Take a look at this thread, there are lots of good road cars coming and they have excellent physics and models. Sounds are mostly taken from the Shift Street mod however, so they aren't the best. Also try the Shift Street mod if you haven't already. I know it doesn't have the R32, but still some good road cars in there with good physics. EDIT: Just to let you know, none of these mods are on rFcentral, try F1Classic for some good road car mods.

I don't know if anyone has seen it, but finally the Transfagarasan has been released:

Yes, I have downloaded it but it crashed when I tried to load it?

Transfagarasan is pretty awesome

Edit; I think I had issues the first time, it may have a folder/sub-folder. If that's the case, try to install the sub-folder only in the Locations folder.

It's a shame the trees look like cardboard cutouts. That's my major pet peeve I know it might sound shallow but nowadays there is just too many high quality maps available to have to settle for poor trees. But the rest of that map looks very nice like the fog in the distance, etc. Looks like a decent effort (sorry if I'm sounding ungrateful or disrespectful to the mod authors). I appreciate that post though about that map I've never heard of it before.

Mind telling me where you got that Subaru car? :dopey: (oh nvm I see it's WRC Subaru 1.2 0.95 as shown clearly on youtube vid info)

The Transfagarasan is the 'ultimate driving road' in Romania that the Top Gear boys were looking for when they took the Ferrari California, Aston Martin DB9S and the Lamborghini Gallardo. It's taken on a bit of a cult following now.

Guys, I need help. I've just made a clean install of rFactor so I managed to start the game to where I have to create a profile but after I fill up my name etc. it wouldn't accept it as it just flash something to I think the UI of where you choose the race series you would like to join. So now I couldn't get to play it or even get to the menu page. I've tried to uninstall and install it again for several times and it didn't produce any result...

Any help is much appreciated!

Did you give rFactor administrative access? Maybe that is the problem if you are on Win 7. Dunno.

Ah, since you mentioned Administrative access I tried it and I finally made it! :D

Problem solved, thanks mate!

If either of the international Rallying series has a round for Romania, you think the Transfagarasan will be used as one of the Special Stages? :)

And what other track/road mods have caught your interest recently?

Solitude and Shomaru Touge are pretty recent and good for road courses. Of course the Targa Florio goes without saying.
