Two bizarre glitches from two separate mods.

Audi R18 - AI cars when they accelerate suddenlt just take off in the air, and bounce around like the road is a trampoline? What can be wrong with that?

Toyota TS030 - Very slow to load, and whenever it hits the wall or another car (player or AI) the game briefly stutters like the CPU is taking a massive drop or something?

Anyone have an idea what is up with these?

R18 is a 0.9 version, it lacks physics adjustments.
TS030 is a low quality google sketchup model not optimized, quite heavy on the CPU.

Surely you can edit the physics hdv? After all player car works fine.

Recently got this mod

http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Stockcar Sim Series 2012

and I installed it as a "full Rfactor install" which I'm now regretting.. I uninstalled it since I didn't like it to much and now Rfactor refuses to start, saying "Windows is searching for Rfactor.exe" and it can't find it. So I'm guessing that when I got rid of the mod, it took Rfactor with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

So for anyone still posting here, can anyone help me with this problem?

I try to select a track and different car and it keeps reverting back to the last car and track I used. Can anyone help me out with this because I'm just frustraited beyond belief.

Still having that issue with a Stand alone mod while this is still going on with rFactor:

Ok, I'm having an issue with rFactor. So I was having trouble with cars showing up yesterday or the menus not showing any of the files. So I reinstalled everything and finally, all the cars and mods show up (no more "Unable to load MAS file" whatever nonsense) but now when I select a car, select a track and click "Load Circuit", it just cuts off. Likewise, I press "Play Replay", it just cuts off.

Would really appreaciate it.

@ Mac, you are supposed to install it as a brand new folder, not in current rfactor installation. @racecar, run rfactor with admin privileges in windows, and for mas file errors maybe you have one folder too much created.

I don't understand?

Install it like it's a stand alone game, it gets it's own install path, and icon when installed. So say your Rfactor path is C:/Program Files/Rfactor/ , DON'T install it there, I made that mistake first time myself.

Thanks, just fixed it. That had me worried for a second :P

I experience major FPS hits with that mod....

I also never like Rfactors collision detection so I change the torque stab values on most mods to 0.5 or 0.4.

I did a 0:59.870 in the 2007 Sauber BMW F1 (the one already included in the "base" Rfactor) at Mosport today, is that a decent lap? It felt pretty fast to me :P

downloaded the trial yesterday ,well firstly couldn't for the life of me figure out how to activate the clutch pedal on my G25 ,and the graphics of the cockpit were terrible but I guess I shouldn't be expecting GT5 levels,Driving physics were just something else I really need to get this game ,can't however find it on amazon so I'll try to look for it in a local store but doubt I'll have any luck .

The 1 hour demo with a car model made in 2005 is a peace of carp honestly.
You can't get any decent idea with that silly 1 hour demo.
Graphic detail is mod related, and your PC spec related. rFactor is just a platform.
There is rFactor lite digital version, you can build your own game from there. Multiple rFactor lite installations with every install pointing to a single "Locations" folder is the way to go.

Oh  figured as much, can i get mods for the lite version? ,i can buy it of the Rfactor site directly but 40$ is a bit too much

First of all, do you know if you had auto-clutch turned on? The F keys control a variety of assists and there is a HUD mode which shows the currently active ones. I don't think that disables your clutch though, but it does obviously make it unnecessary.

Secondly, you have to run the game as an admin to get it to save your settings changes, so if you went and turned all the graphics up and it still looked terrible, and we're talking possibly sub-PS2 graphics here, it's probably that. That is unless, of course, you do have extremely high standards and think even with the graphics all the way up you still think it looks bad. Have a look at some Google image results for rFactor and see if the graphics compare to what you've got, but I remember being almost disgusted with the graphics when I played... But 640x480, no AA and low quality textures will do that! Then I figured out it wasn't writing the settings changes, ran it as admin and it was all good.

Sure you can.

I know, as alternative you can consider Game Stock Car http://www.game-stockcar.com.br/en/demo.html or SimBin stuff http://www.raceroom.net/ another alternative is find a GTR2 copy, if you like GT cars there's a lot of content (mods).
Yeah I have been looking into GTR2 will check it out.

Oh thanks for the tips ,yeah I do recall that the AA was off and I didn't want to fiddle with anything because I can't understand a single word :guilty:

I fiddled with the Auto clutch but when assigning the clutch button I press the pedal but it still won't assign it unlike the gas and brake pedals which are assigned when I press them.

Had the same issues with the pedals. Try running as an administrator. I think that fixed it for me.
rFactor can be weird like that sometimes.

Guys I am new to rfactor. If I download the game how do I set up multiplayer etc? Do we have to organise one or does multiplayer have lobby etc.

Rfactor has a new weird problem for me. Whenever I start a race, it drops immediately to 1fps. Also loading times have gone very long... anyone know why? ;boggled:

Installed anything new lately?
Try running the rFactor installer over your current install. Refresh all the default files.

Historic GT & Touring Car mod, and CART Factor.

HGTTC needs a separate install. That's probably what's giving you the problems.
Speaking of HistorX, if anybody is interested there's a 12 hour race over on SimJunkies on a track called Saschenring. The track really is awesome, and it's good for racing too.
