Let this be a lesson to all on the effects of alcoholism.

Total legend, sad to see him go but you gotta admit, he was given his fair amount of chances to stop the drink...

George Best was a very famous football (soccer) player fom Northern Ireland. He was best known for his greatness at Manchester United, where he scored many goals for the club. When he retired, he developed a drink problem which he tried to stop on a number of occasions. Unfortunately, his drinking habits have now claimed his life.

RIP George. The first football superstar.
 
This morning on the bus i was confused because on every front page of the newspapers had a picture and tribute to George Best. I thought he died during the night.
Its a shame that most people will remember him for his drinking than for his football.

It is true that he did bring it upon himself to an extent, but that's not what needs to be remembered.

I know George Best played football in L.A. during the 70's - i didn't know he played baseball there too.
