I see what your thinking. So by that one should be able set a 0/0 ride height then stiffen rear spring and soften front. Get tue same effect as ride height changes?
One the ride height. Center of gravity lower keeps car flatter. Giving more grip. However the game seems to do as you say plow.
I am gonna stop and suggest a chat group of a privates sorts. One where the guys that have good set ups and know some real world physics and set up, can have great tuning discussion.
Wardez? You're savvy on this sorta thing. If interest is there would you throw something together?
* Low center of gravity: GOOD
* Low center of gravity providing more grip: Can be true, but far from always.
A setup is very complicated, and every setting affect another one, more or less. By just raising the front, and thru that, experiance more oversteer is not enough proof for me.
I believe that GT5 physics are far more complex than we know/guess. I do not think for a second that PD should deliver such a major screw up (And not have it fixed).
We also need to keep in mind that the majority of us racing this game do not have the knowledge regarding this at all. A "quick-tip" that help us to get what we want from changing settings is welcome, and since it in most cases are concidered to be true (Raising the front for more oversteer/rotation), this is what will be concidered "truth".
I do not concider my self any wiser than any one else, but from my experiance when trying this, I can defenetly see why people feel more oversteer from a higher front, but I think it's too easy to come to that conclution from it.
I can def feel the car rotating more as I said, but I do feel that it's because of a more responsive front end, that are not "plowing". It's def the front that is affected, and not the rear in any way.
This subject is far to complex for me to make you guys see what I meen. I got a ton of thoughts that I want to write now, but I don't do that since my english keeps me from getting it right. Discussing a subject like this requires correct english, and terms to make you guys able to read what I try to say.. Sorry.. Perhaps I'll try google translate for the complicated parts.. 💡
