All good things said and done, I've got to say, I hope that they don't change the background music as they have done with the logo.

I think Dara is an inspired choice, but a part of me wishes slightly more that John Bishop was doing it, I think he'd be great at it.

I can't see him having the enthusiasm for it like Craig used to do, and I think Dara will get into it as well.

Will the judges be the same guys, Sharkey et al?

I hope they don't change the on screen graphics too much, I liked the two angle grinder things that opened and closed when they displayed the competitors.

After seeing the repeats on Challenge recently and being reminded of it one thing I hope they don't do this time is show parts of the fights, sometimes including their conclusion, before the program even starts. Totally spoils it when thy show a robot going down the pit or having the washing machine dropped on them in the opening credits.

Looks like all tickets are full. Did anyone manage to get any? I did. I'm off on the 5th of March to watch!

Read that the floor is going to be steel this time rather than the usual wood, I assume so they don't have to replace it so often.

6mm steel - a material with the side-effect of making spiky wheels obsolete.

In other news, 110KG is the new weight limit, so Shunt, Matilda, Sgt. Bash and Dead Metal are going to need a bit of beefing up. Given the rise of Hardox in robotic combat, I wouldn't be surprised if the new generation of spinners knocked them for six if they got caught in their path.

The one we've all been waiting for!

The lack of stuff in Killalot's head makes me optimistic that the beefing-up has actually taken place - though I doubt that Sir Killalot really needed much of an upgrade - much more an update than anything.

All apart from Growler had been scrapped before now, so they're all being rebuilt from scratch. It'll be interesting to see what they do to them, but the same outside design looks to be happening.

I thought there was something strange about Shunt's scoop...

In that case, an overhauled group of house robots should do quite well to bring a sense of danger to the CPZs. Apart from Cassius Chrome. I hope that he's been left to rust.

Has this been given a transmission date yet?, I know it might be a bit soon as they haven't began recording, just thought I'd ask ...

There isn't an official date yet, but I'm guessing that it's going to be on screens between the 3rd of April and 8th of May.

Been watching the seventh wars on Challenge recently and I realised I never watched it originally. I think it aired in that time when Channel 5 still had crap analogue reception for half of the country, a snowy mess.

Spruce up the coverage so a it's a *bit* more like an actual sport and a bit less cringeworthy and it's all great.

Did the proliferation of flipper robots continue after the show went off air? I stopped watching as I got quite sick of them.

Spinners were banned soon after, so it's become Flippers vs Axes.

well here's hoping that they put some thicker screens in for the audience and unban everything!
Superthick Bulletproof plexiglass is what they've got. Spinners and all manner of destructive stuff after allowed for this series, so it should be mental.

It's now Less than a week until I get to watch it. SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!

This is not what I wanted to see!

I was hoping for an improved version of the 'sub base' concept seen in the last 7 series of the original show. I guess that's what you get if you want to be guarded by a bullet-proof box, from very powerful pieces of machinery...

Place gently on back until and using a pair of poultry shears, quickly cut off the front of the robot about 1/4 inch behind the eyes. This kills the Hypnodisc.

So I went to filming today.

It was utterly fantastic. Dara and Angela are brilliant at the presenting malarkey, the new House Robots look fantastic, and the battles were incredible. A must watch when it comes on TV.

Were you allowed to take pictures or is it all embargoed?

I actually wonder how they'll deal with result spoilers, the internet wasn't the thing it is today back when it last aired.

We could take them as long as we don't post them anywhere. TBH it was impossible to stop us taking them. There are idiots who spoil, but I will do my best to not to.

Yeah I guess it'll be easy to avoid, as long as you don't visit the specific RW websites and forums.

Did they mention an air date, or is it still undecided?

Ok. Without giving anything away how much a difference did the steel floor make?
It didn't get damaged by the weapons, that was the first thing. Spiked tyres aren't in anymore, rubber is basically the only thing they can use for the wheels. That said, it didn't stop the House Robots leaving massive skid marks when they tried to push some robots.
