Ok....
Apocalypse: It's a interesting design, sort of like someone took Splinter and (not Hypno-Disc) squished it. But yeah, basically didn't work properly. Though to be fair they would have beaten Sabretooth without clouting the wall, but that demonstrates that the robot isn't really sturdy enough.
Donald Thump: I rolled my eyes when I first saw this because it seems that everywhere you go now, Donald Trump is there. However, that guy was very funny, and it did actually work, they technically inflicted immobilising damage on Sabretooth, but yeah, not much you can do against four robots without a working weapon.
The Swarm: They're lucky the floor is metal and not wood like the old, because it's so obvious that Behemoth and Apollo were struggling to line up a decent attack because everyone was sliding around everywhere. The spinner was the only one to do anything noteworthy, the others all just broke down. About we saw a robot go over the high fence, we just need to be a heavyweight now.
Sabretooth: It basically didn't work outside of the first fight, they got lucky to be largely against robots that didn't work either.
Apollo: Yeah, pretty much what I expected, should be interesting to see what our esteemed former champions can do in the wild card battle!
Behemoth: After 19 years and 8 seasons Behemoth have finally made it out of their heat for the second time! This time they were on point. Previously I haven't been particularly impressed with their driving, as I think that's given them as much bad luck as their reliability issues. That pitting was very nice, however if the floor was wooden Apollo would not have slid like that so easily. Everyone is struggling for grip, which is causing a lot of problems especially for flippers.
This new format is much better than the last; everyone gets a second chance. Not sure why the floor dildos decided to go rogue, and this new fog of war thing seems a bit pointless, I can picture a lot of robots unfairly ending up in the pit because of it.
Next week is gonna be a scorcher, but shows how important seedings are, whose brainwave was it to put Carbide, Eruption and Aftershock (essentially the 1st, 2nd and 4th seeds) in the same heat?
