Cheers, couldn't find anything anywhere when searching! Will give it a shot over the weekend :)

There are 3 tunings on that page. I used Blueshifts tuning. The car is more manageable but still, you have to learn how to respond to it's quirks. It's loads of fun though!!!

Enjoy!

Cheers I will give Blueshifts ago. I don't mind persevering on the ring getting used to it. The car is never going to be tame! :-)

For those that are curious...

On the ABH Rating (acceleration, braking, and handling) that I've implemented in my matchmaker app, the Yellowbird is at the bottom of the Ruf cars with a 6.25 even though it is the lightest and has the highest P/W ratio. The RGT was the best, scoring a 6.94.

Code:
[SIZE="2"]Make	Model HP	(kg) P/W Ratio ABH Rating

RUF	3400S ‘00 296	1300 0.228 6.79
RUF	BTR ‘86 365 1180 0.309 6.27
RUF	CTR “Yellow Bird” 456	1150 0.397 6.25
RUF	CTR2 ‘96 505	1380 0.366 6.84
RUF	RGT ‘00 388 1330 0.292 6.94[/SIZE]

The Yellowbird is most definitely a tail happy beast that demands attention and respect. :)

It's just stupidly wild. I can't get it to turn in without the back end stepping out. A real challenge!

I used the Yellowbird for the Schwarzwald League B Extreme races. Quite a challenge for me. I think I used a tune available here but had to bump from SH to SS tires. Getting to the front of the pack on the 'ring wasn't tough as the A.I. takes things slow through the first sector. However, it still made for some white knuckle driving having them in my immediate rearview the entire race. I think I saved the replay so I'll try to upload it to YouTube.

I have all the RUFs, for rallying and drifting mostly, but also road racing too. If you like the Yellowbird, give the BTR a go - those two are both RR drivetrain.

Got all RUFs you can get few now form online dealer. I got them soon as they poped in UCD. Ttoaly worth is, hard to master but fun to drive.

I'm sure it's been mentioned up above somewhere, but one thing you should definitely consider is running these cars on stock suspensions (unless you are running them online in some of the "bad tracks" where the handling is all messed-up). Even if you upgrade the power a reasonably amount, the stock suspension settings will give you the best feel for how classic Porsches handle (the YB, for example, has what is essentially a stock Porsche suspension, they really are just that darn good). I also suggest that any of the sports tires will be your best bet for really understanding how these cars behave in real-life (again, your offline experience and your online experience may vary greatly depending on your track of choice). If you tune the suspension much at all you greatly reduce the uniqueness of these cars. Likewise putting racing tires on them really changes their characteristics.

(Also, as a word of warning: if you don't want to buy a classic Porsche, don't ever drive one. You'll basically have to buy one if you do.)

i couldnt agree with you more... i dont mess with any suspension settings unless im modifying the crap out of the car.. each car is its own unique flavor.. if you cant drive it standard dont buy the car

Just picked one up from the online dealer, I think that gives me four Ruffs now :). just got to find time to check it out now.

I love it, one of the best cars in the game. Had to put sports softs on it because with hards it was too difficult but other than that (and a bit of brake balance) completely stock and loving every second. It's the only car so far that really feels knife-edge even in a straight line.

Yesterday night we had a fantastic race on a friend's generated track in the rain. 5 laps 4 of which were pretty much plain drifting since the tyres started to go. I actually worked up a sweat trying to keep the car on the road :D

I'm glad there are more and more people who think this way. Max tuning and working the suspension on every car just makes them all feel the same. I have a couple tuned racers but most of my cars are stock so I can appreciate their unique feel.

that car is like a woman, if you step on her, she will kick and scream, then she will throw you on to the ground. But when treated gently (very gently) she can be sweet !! once you made love with her and gave her a 'good time' she will do anything you want :)
good luck guys

Nice pics but you forgot to show the "after" photos. Getting that much air with this car can only lead to one photo let me help you. lol

If you have the credits available, YES! 👍 They are very rewarding cars to drive once you learn them. Especially the Yellow Bird!

I got the CTR2, the Yellow Bird, the RGT and the BTR.. i have yet to direct funding their way tho for chassis restores and engine rebuilds... considering i got all my big projects out of the way.. these should get cash very shortly

OK8

I always have two of a kind when i modify a car.. a stock example and a tuner.. so ill always have the stocker to play with when i want to.. try an F40 or mclaren with no antilock.. hahah

I got a new tune up for this car that runs a ballast in the nose to give it a 50/50 weight distribution, but with the new gearing tune options I may still yet put a non-ballast tune together. If you connoisseurs of the Yellow Bird would like to give it a try and provide some feedback. Sport Softs on Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7:41" (time with DS3, AT shifting, aids off except ABS 1). LSD is tuned for 524HP (Engine Tune 2).

GT5 Update New Tunes Coming?, this thread started out as a discussion of the application of ballast and custom gearing and sort of drifted towards an impromptu tuning battle of the RUF Yellow Bird.

RUF CTR "Yellowbird" '87 (February 20, 2011 - Spec II - Nurburgring Edition) was the resulting tune I put forth for nose ballast and 50/50 weight distribution. If people still feel too adverse about having the extra weight, I'll see about modifying the spec to run without it as an option, which is definitely possible with gearing options now, but I kind of like the neutral handling balance on the car now.

Fully tuned, the rear slips out, but I am against the Ballast Idea.
I think it just means I need to get better at taming this beast of a car:scared:
