I have all 5 RUF's but the Yellow Bird is defo my favourite, its acctully a challenge to drive unlike most cars

It's tempting to be equally as rude to you in return, but I'll resist as you clearly have no idea what you're talking about ;)

Porsche have never built a 4WD GT2... 993GT2, 996GT2, 997GT2 & GT2RS are all RWD only.

As I said, the CTR2 is based on the 4WD 993 Turbo.

Sorry I wasn't meaning to sound rude, your right, the GT2 was based on the 911 turbo, it just had the 4wd removed because of FIA race regulations.

I had just assumed that since the GT2 was the same chassis/engine/body as the 911 turbo it would be 4wd.

I do know my Porsche's fairly well, I've even driven a 911 turbo on a track.

Finally picked up a CTR2 last night for over 200k :boggled:
I couldnt understand what the hype was about on the first struggling couple laps i did with it. I then took it to nurburgring and started letting the rear end slide out... OHHHH MYYYYYYYY!!! It is indeed very fun to drive. It's like you're on the edge every time you take a corner

No worries :)

I know my Porsche's very well... I own one ;)

Wow! I managed to find this in the store last night before going to work, just now took it out for a test drive ... Best car ever :) so slidey I had a massive smile on my face while sliding around and then when watching the replay!

I just wish it was a premium cos it's a beautiful car it deserves be a premium, I hope they convert this one. Love it :)

And Stefan Roser gearing with that tall oldschool gearing stick in the cockpit view :o) Shame RUFs are not a premium as only Porsches in the game.

Not sure why they modelled the CTR the way they did. I have had the good fortune of being a white knuckled passenger in an AWD rendition of the Yellowbird and piloting an AWD RT12 around a track in anger and on the open roads and neither was a plowing monster - all you needed to do was crank the wheel over more and give it extra stick to make the beast turn and I was told the CTR bahves in a similar manner. In fact, if you didnt pay attention in the black Yellowbird it behaved for all the world like a RWD Turbo.

It is a pity they dont model the cars with a favourable factory setup - they seem to drop them all off as dead center value setups.

But I love my Rufs in game... they are a blast.

Too bad it doesn't have cockpit view...
how is it driving from the roof? Is it funny?
We need a good hood view to enjoy standard cars... can't stop saying it.

This car is amazing, so far it's my favorite to drive. The sound, handling and the way it accelerates is just purely unique compared to the other cars i've driven in this game. Playing with the suspension, brake bias and aerodynamic settings is really interesting as well.

Painted it black so now it's a "Blackbird" instead =)

Love this car but I cant cure the lift off oversteer. Does anybody have any advice...

....don't lift.

In all seriousness, don't lift fully, sometimes apply a left foot brake smoothly at high speeds. A slight,10-20% throttle is sometimes all you need to keep it balanced in a corner.

Check out my tune at: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=134864 to make the car more manageable.

Yes, some of the "on a razor's edge" handling had been taken away but you can always tone down my rear camber/toe settings a bit. I've always just wanted to use it as a "cruising around/fun" car but now I find myself competing with it, only mods are race tires and full suspension.

Thank you I will take your advice mate. I have tried to calm the rear down with the LSD but it's not working for the lift off. Will defenitely try your tune tonight. Thanks again :)

I have a Yellowbird, full power upgrades and engine rebuild clocking in at 731hp and have soft racing slick tires.

It's very, very fast. The thing is, I cannot drive it well. I'm more than willing to trade it to someone less ham-fisted than I am (or who enjoys the feeling of being about to die more). In the right hands, I believe it could compete in GT All Stars. Those hands are not mine though.

Stats:
731hp
610 ft-lbs of torque
1081 kgs

I would love the premium SLR McLaren in exchange (even bone stock) if the money/rarity balances out.

Yellow Bird is my favourite. Only have about 3 right now. Still working on a tune for the yellow bird. I find it performs damn amazing on some courses, then others not too well. Need a decent all around tune. But for the tune i did use, I found it on this board some where.

Also try not to lift fully off while cornering, lift off while driving straight, or be prepared for the slide.

These RUF's are awesome, I've fallen in love with the RR layout.

FINALLY!!

This baby finally showed back up in the UD and i managed to purchase it.

Its my most fav car..........well this and the racing GT40 (the old 60's one) :)

When i get back from work i need to see which events i can use it in and good times will be had 👍

I've seen the Yellow Bird come up a couple of times and other RUFs. Not bought any so far, am I missing out or something? Just got to 2 million credits and don't know what to buy with it. I need a Ferrari and a Lambo for the specific events but other than that I don't know what to get.

Neither this nor the CTR2 has showed up in my used lot yet. I swear, the lot is not as "random" as the game suggests, given some cars never show up whilst the same cars(even Group C LM) showed up like 10 times already :indiff:

If anyone has a spare Yellowbird or CTR2, I'm willing to trade you for anything of equal value :sly:

Just missing out on the ride of your life is all 👍

Seeing as you have 2 million, the 177.000 it costs is just a drop in the ocean.

Sounds like my kind of car, but I'm currently 8/10s of the way to a mazda furai.

Save your money! You can get one of these the B-Spec Miata challenge. My (HORRIBLE) B-spec driver with a '93 Miata with the best allowable tires, a bit of weight reduction, a supercharger, and all the available cheap power adders (race chip, air filter, etc.). It's a pretty cheap way to get a Furai, if your blood pressure can handle watching B-Spec "races"! :ouch:

I'm looking to trade mine away. everything's been done (731hp, 1081kgs) but the chassis restore. I love the mclaren slr (stock is fine) if that seems fair to you.

Just curious, are any of these RUFs Premium?
Since I'm getting a Fanatec steering wheel it would be disappointing to know that I'll never be able to drive a Porsche with a Porsche wheel. :P
