Except unlike previous leaks, this was not even at an actual public event (via pictures from people at said event) This was leaked from what was supposed to be private info before an event. Thats clearly different. Is PD's history not enough evidence to suspect this isn't exactly making them more willing to share?

Breach of trust? It's a video game. Not nuclear codes. This isn't a matter of National security. Talk about over reaction.

This.

👍

Watching the video replays and taking photos in GTS will be absolute legendary:

Try telling that to literally every company (including Game Developers and Publishers) that has an NDA then. Its clear how many people here have no concept that when a company trusts you enough with info and specifically tells you to NOT disclose it before a certain time, you follow said instruction (especially if you even want to keep such a priviledge). But sure, keep telling me (someone who has dealt with these recently) that I'm "Over reacting".

Is the only thing not confirmed about all this so far is whether or not there's officially an NDA involved, or did I miss something? Arguing about it is only derailing the thread further than it's already gone tbh. Either way we'll see what's in store for us all in a week's time when the next event starts!

From what I can gather, no NDA, no explicit confidentiality contract and the person responsible was/is not an employee of PD.
There was simply a request not to say anything.
A request does not have to be followed.
Discourteous to leak the info but that’s about all.

This video shows that they have been working on the rain in the game. This is from an update 9 months ago. At launch, there was no sound but they added sound to the water in the update.

The rain currently does look pretty good on the ground and on the environment but the cars don't show they have any water on them.

Spray still seems iffy, like its not coming off the tires.

Wondering if some of the small graphical fidelities they made were in preparation for rain.

I had forgotten about the update in March where the release notes said they had "improved" existing tracks. When I saw that, my first thought was that they were working on ps5 and had just added some of the ps5 engine enhancements to GT Sport. But, it *would* make sense for them to buff the stability of things before adding rain, or wet weather effects.

In other news, it's finally stopped pissing it down with rain in england. Honestly, there's been >1 month of rain this week already. Last thing I want right now is even more of it on my ps4 :lol:

Still don’t understand why this Infield isn’t a playable track outside of Missions

OMG, I'm so happy!! I've been wishing for rain weather on GT Sport since i bought the game on December 2017, the hype is real!! This is great news!

Btw, I absolutely loved rain weather on Driveclub, so I wonder what PD'll be able to achieve on GTS...

as much as I want static fog
They did a pretty good job of light fog on the Nordschleife. Very atmospheric and almost as if they gave the track special attention (for good reason of course).
They probably didn’t add it to every track due to the time to develop and also it adds uniqueness where it’s used.
They may do the same with wet tracks.

I'm curious to see how wet tracks will be implemented.

If it’s coming, I’m betting it’ll come additional option(s) in the ToD/Conditions selection screen. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if PD use the existing “overcast” settings and just put the wet surfaces and rain particles in. Brands Hatch in particular has looked like it was made for rain since the closed beta.

Why people get salty over a leaked info? Since there is no agreement to not share it i dont see any reason to get salty because of it. Yes we know rain is coming. Did you lose something because we learned it?

Never bad for a 2 year old game to get a shot in the arm, especially one with microtransactions. But it's clear Christmas is cancelled.

Thanks to the guys who leaked this. PD are such a closed studio, so it's nice to get information on GT Sport any which way we can.

👍
Is it though? If people have been told to not leak anything, they can't do it simple as that.

Yeah it is. Leaked info is the only PR hype this game gets. I don't know about you but I actually want an increased player base anytime new content comes down the pipe.

They do show, when there's actual rain. (In the third festival)
But the raindrops are too far apart and small.

I seriously don't get why people are believing this, just because one person said it. Guys, Gran Turismo 8 is coming next month.

Still don’t understand why this Infield isn’t a playable track outside of Missions

What would it be used for?
