Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO (PS4/XB1/PC) - Milestone

Picked up a used copy this weekend and after discovering I lost my save, I started fresh this afternoon. Had forgotten what a great handling Rally game this is. With a wheel the experience is fantastic and it doesn't look to crappy either. Busy with the Loeb Experience and the video's are a very nice touch that has been added. Would love to see a '2 with the UE4 engine

Got to the Loeb-chalkenge with the C4 in Wales (25 seconds). Before I struggled a longtime on this one. Now after months not having played, I start the challenge and pretty much breeze through :boggled: No idea how that is possible !! Did it got easier after the patch?

Hmmm did some additional research concerning the game and it seems the domain will expire the 16th of december this year.
Of course it could be a rally title with a completely different name but that would be too bad since Loeb is a great name to have in the game's title.

Hopefully Milestone can enlighten us / me pretty soon!

They have brought quite a few motorcycle games to the market and on 4 wheels it has indeed been very quiet. But if I think we see a new Dirt game early next year, probably a WRC title also and then a new SLRally Evo. Wouldn't that be a lot or could Milestone have the WRC license back after WRC released Milestone had done a great job with SLRE? I personally prefer they stick to SLRE and have more freedom of cars and locations.

Problem is the studio did something like Gravel because there was a lot of competition on the "simulation" style of game (WRC 6 and Dirt Rally). This is something @er185es found on some PDF written by one of Milestone developers. So with Dirt Rally 2 and WRC 8 coming, is very unlikely we have SLRE2.

I think WRC 8 is still being worked by Kylotonn.

@SlimCharles I did see Kylotonn was looking for additional people but it is still very unclear if they have the license or not. Tried various channels to get some info but all zero response.
  • Dirt Rally 2 (Early 2019)
  • WRC 8 (?)
  • Dakar '19 (2019)
  • Milestone rally game (?)
So far only DR2 would come out in the beginning of 2019 but I ask myself if WRC 8 could launch with the new WRC season end Januari 2019? Where and how Milestone will fit in, I have no clue.

During the eSports WRC 2018 broadcast the announcer Ben Constanduros said WRC 8 will be released at the end of 2019 and represent the 2019 season. No word on who is doing it. It's anyone's guess who, if anyone, has the WRC license at this point.

End 2019? Wow, not what I expected. I know it is spéculation but I can't image Kylotonn still has the license then. Wouldn't be surprised if it was Slightly Mad since they have gathered some pretty serious offroad specialists.

BTW: may I ask what difficulty you are all running in the career? I tried pro and realistic but the AI are so incredible fast that they seem uncatchable

When I played it I ran mostly realistic, (after lots of practice!), the only time I remember dropping it sometimes, (dependant on car, normally the slower types), was on the Monte Carlo stages, try as I might I couldn't match the AI.

Thanks @MrCrynox 👍 so they are beatable indeed. I did for comparison a run against a ghost of Loeb in time trial and his time seem much closer to pro than realistic AI or am I wrong there?

Actually I can't answer that as I don't think I ran against Loeb's time trial ghosts, I didn't realise they were in there! Thanks @doblocruiser you may have given me a reason to play SLRE again :)

@MrCrynox yes, racing against Loeb's ghost is lots of fun. I made a whole YouTube series out of them.

@doblocruiser yes Loeb is closer to Pro than realistic. He was probably there only a day or two to set the times and 64 stages is a lot of seat time so he probably never got up to speed.

I did the game on Easy for the Platinum trophy then started doing rallies on Realistic with Heavy Damage. That combo is by far the most challenging in any rally game, ever.

Thanks Pfei 👍

'not up to speed' you say. Hmmm I found he set some rather quick times, even without a lot of seattime. Will take many tries with my "exceptional talents" to beat those

I don't think he's that bad, but definitely not an alien.
This is sooo funny to read or to even think of!

A living legend and arguably one of the best racing driver in all motorsport of all time. This goes to really show how lacking simracing is still compared to real life. The lack of G-forces is one of the biggest reasons I suppose for that.

A real driver has lots of things to take into account mainly "fear for his life", "fear for his machinery", "costs" (repairs or running costs), "risk vs reward" etc... In our sims all it costs us is maybe a restart button click...
