SCEE Executive: GT5 for Christmas 2009

I really wouldn't mind it coming later than Christmas 2009. Yes, it would be fantastic to have it released then, but I want the best from Polyphony. If it takes a very long time i'm willing to be patient and wait for it, cos I don't want it to be rushed for a release date.

And if it takes long, I can save up for a new TV, wheel, even a racing seat if I so desire.

I really really want GT5 come out as soon as possible. But I want GT5 to be the best racing game/sim that we've ever seen. And I'll happily wait for that!!

I think copies of the game are in warehouses all over the world, ready to ship, as we speak. This week We'll start seeing teaser advertisements before next week, full ads, proclaiming the launch to be friday 17th of december. Or something like that. Lol.

December '09 sounds realistic. Holiday releases tend to be good for sales. Also, we should remember that the game could always be released sooner with downloadable updates later on.

Well, obviously a wait until 2050 is definitely enough! All I'm saying is that I'd rather have a great game after a long period of time, rather than have an unfinished game right away.

I guess one of the good things about this is that no one still really knows how far GT5 is in the production stage. And since this isn't official, though it does make sense, there is a whole year that PD can use as a release target. So luckily, up until Winter 2009, GT5 can't be delayed until it is announced or passes that target. Hopefully it will be released sooner, but a year isn't too far off!

I agree. I know a lot of people wouldn't want screens released or anything because it might spoil the game, but I honestly need something to make my mouth truly water while waiting. It's a pain in the butt using my imagination for everything.

If the Japan version releases in the Summer, then I'll be pleased but I really doubt it. Hopefully we'll get a Japan date soon, although I want a complete and as much polished, huge content game as possible and not a impatient fan rushed game that gets updated and patched to buggery.

I want GT5 to be worthy of the name like Kaz suggested a year ago. I think a huge high quality content game later with cheap PS3's will be better for PD/Sony than an early game with DLC.

After reading that article more closely, here's one thing I'm abit curious about: How exactly do we know this is GT5? It doesn't specifically say GT5 but "A new version of GT". That could mean something else for all we know, maybe even the PSP port(though highly unlikely). I'm in no rush for GT5 to come out, but are we sure we aren't jumping to conclusions here? This was after all not said by Kaz himself so I'm abit skeptical about it.

Second thing: bring the damn game out, if it have some bugs, fixe it later with some updates like you did with Prologue.

Third thing: Make things clear, always thez same b*ll**** with the release date, stop playing with us, we are not little childrens(well i'm not) like at the time of GT2/3. Telll us when it comes out and stick to that date

1. incorrect. people have more money at the holiday period to spend on gifts and non-necessities. Think of how many people rely on their parents to buy them games. Or even how many people only have 1-2 games even though they have had a ps3 for ages.

2. Majority of people wouldn't be so forgiving. a big release like that people expect the game complete. Plus for all you know the game at the moment might be all fine bug wise but missing content. Most people don't like to have to rely on additional content. They want a substantial game from the get go. Then you have all the bad publicity from reviews.


Nobody is playing with anyone regarding the release date. All previous gt's have had a release date and then delayed the game. This time they aren't announcing a release date. So how is that playing with people?

I'm a GT fan, and I'm expecting it to come out in 2011.

EDIT: I don't care anymore, everything is taking to long. So in other words, I was a GT fan... Probably I will be again when GT5 finally is released (in 2011/2012), lol. Oh and I'll most likely go back and play GT5P again for a while if the god damn private lobbies and damage comes with an update.

I think the team will still work on GT5 for up to a year because of online, updates, and other stuff. And that's what KAZ has mention.. but he did not say if the WHOLE team will be on the updates side or not..

But yeh I cant wait for GT6.. but I really hope it comes out for PS4 because I want more powerful game.. but hey.. they almost done with GT6 because all cars are LASER scanned.. for GT6 they need upgrade physics and LASER SCAN all the tracks.
