I thought the same thing but the window frame looks just like the scion, and the grill is also pretty similar. Also while the head and tail lights have been toned down a lot, the shapes look to be similar as well just not as sharp and much more rounded.
The Subaru would have subie cues.

-> Hmm, it DOES carry Subie-ish wheels and tailight design IMO. But the front bumper is a giveaway Sci-yota-ish. :)

Looks just like this.

Meh, I agree, somewhat and only consider SCION a toyota division for kids. I think we'll be more pissed when the car comes out and the visual styling is cut back a lot or the the price jumps up. I see the car shown above and have a hard time believing toyota will release something like that.

Well unfortunately, the car we are seeing testing appears to already sport that.

Well, the down toning is due to the limitations on the price tag, sharp styling bodywork isn't cheap to fabricate, most machines can't press complicated body parts and the ones that can are more expensive, therefore translating into a increase in the final price tag.

I still think it'll be elegant, not as fiery hot and cool as the prototype but decent enough to be desired.

Yeah, like a mother....but as I said, I'm still liking it. The overall shape is still pretty nice, hood looks too short and mid section looks to tall, but I'm still waiting to see the subie.

-> Ok, I think it resembles of the (Toyota) FT-86 II very well:

^ It has those 'droopy' headlights, the airdam design is very similar, and if you look closely it has that fender slit, theres a hint also.

-> The front fogs & turn signal tries to be uniformed with other Toyota products:

^ Although the cues are derived from its hybrid models! So does that mean that this Sci-yota will be a HYBRID!? :scared:

-> I would certainly HOPE NOT!!!! :grumpy:

I was kinda thinking Celica GT-FOURish.

Holy crap that's some ground clearance.

^ I would think FHI (aka. Subaru) is doing the research shift this time. Sci-yota's shift is finished for the day as of the moment.

-> 'DAT' wing reminds me of the old-n-cool GC WRX STi Type-R:

^ Oohhh that Bunta car!

:)

Without the eye-straining camouflage, you mean?

Reserving judgement. A mule is just a mule.

The last batch looks to be a bit higher off the ground, than the non-wing one.
Maybe it's just me but if you look at the centerline of the rear wheel in relation to the bottom-back corner of the rear door, it looks higher.
Is everyone pretty much thinking the camo car is the Subaru version, then?

That's what I was thinking. Straight off the ST205...

I'm okay with it. As long as it is functional...

I never much cared for the massive GT-FOUR wing. It looked just like they thought it wasn't tall enough so they shoved some extenders under it.

Which probably made if functional. BMW did the same thing with the LTW wing for the E36 M3 models, having risers as an option.
