Well I just finished the last event in the Ferrari series and that just ticked me over to level 32, awesome now I can do the Nurburgring 4 hr race, I have been looking forward to this one. Excellent timing!

Hopefully this is the start of this type of event one week and higher paying events like we have had the following week. That would give it a bit of balance. Otherwise when the credit raise gets binned after the next update we will be back to square one. And I just dont enjoy "grinding". I didnt pay forty quid for a game in which I have to repeat races again and again just to get ones I do want to do unlocked. GT5 needs a lot of tweaking to match the previous two games in my view. These events are nothing special, could do that in thirty seconds with an events generator !!

Being new to the forum there seems to be two camps, the people like me who do enjoy the game but see its flaws and the fanboys who would buy a turnip if Kaz caved GT5 in the side of it. The next update is the make or break for me. If they sort at least some of the issues I have concerns with I keep it, if not its gone. And I strongly suspect we will get this useless app for playing B-Spec anywhere and not much else.

I want to point out 1st I love GT5 and this is about the online side of the game

For most I dont think its about things been handed to us on a plate from the start more that we'd like a reasonable chance to get things

If im level 25 but used my money already on cars and dont have any I want to sell so have say £10,000 and my friends are racing an event of the same cars that I dont have say the FGT I have to grind Indy 44 times (220 Laps, About 2 and a half hours not including the 9 UCD updates to check) just to get 1 car, im all for long life gaming but that is just plain stupid!

The alternative is Trading/duping which when you look at it seems a far more viable option

Could they not have bumped the credits up on some of the final seasonal races but also upted the restrictions and difficulty so that the starting seasonal 7 races were low credits low difficulty and the ending races high credits but very difficult???

Its not rocket science PD even if you took 6 years to make 1 game!

Sorry, mate, but what you're saying does not make much sense to me. You're saying you're level 25 and you don't have any money left and you need to grind? Well, then you blew all your credits on cars you didn't need.

I started a new account very recently, and to this day have not raced a single event twice, have not done any license tests to level up, have not yet completed all Special Events, and I'm at Level 29 and have 13 million credits in the bank. This game offers plenty of opportunity to level up and earn credits, if your only concern is not getting only 700hp+ race cars that cost 5 million credits each.

What you're suggesting basically means that you would have to throw the credit system out the window, because if you can earn them too easily, it doesn't serve ANY purpose.

You're basically just complaining you can't get one particular car at an instant without credits.

In my opinion it’s sad that the previous 3-4 seasonal events have been so easy and the payout so big... It´s been far too easy to level up and buy overpowered cars without the restrictions, witch has left me with very little to look forward to in GT5, except online and shuffle races...

My garage has 300+ cars in it, 40% road cars, 30% supercars and 30% LM/RM-cars...

A friend i have just started his profile in GT5 and levelled to lv-21 just by doing the 6th seasonal event... And with the cars, money and tires acquired with those races, he wont find a challenging challenge until he starts with the expert once... And this as a result of just attending the 6th seasonal event...

I say, payouts should break you even with the car required (maybe not an F1/LM-car though) but not more. And the events should be restricted so that its haaard to come first. More power/weight/tire-restriction pleeeease...

A game should be a challenge, not a walk in the park. And a simulator even more so...

But that’s my opinion...

I think you might be forgeting another camp the one with people who refuse to accpet there is something good about the game and will use anything to say it sucks

Grinding in this game can be compared to situation where in - say a first person shooter - you'd have to play missions 1-10 once, then missions 11-12 for twenty times to unlock the last mission. Can't see how anyone doesn't see this as a genuine problem, to be honest.

And on topic: Can't wait to get home from work to play a few of these. At least something of variety to do in the game although it doesn't work against the grinding problem much.

You're saying you're level 25 and you don't have any money left and you need to grind? Well, then you blew all your credits on cars you didn't need.

Well, my level is even higher, and I guess I blew all my money on cars I didn't need. Is that what it's about? Not buying cars you don't need? How about buying cars you want? If you have to do the same races over and over and over again, isn't it at least a little better to keep doing it with different cars? I even have some cars twice, one stock and one fully tuned. Not because I need it, but because I want it. It brings joy to driving the same races again and again and again? Or are you telling me I should stop spending all my money on cars and think about what I really need? I mean, what else do you earn all that money for if it isn't to buy cars you want?

Or am I missing something here?

Sweet. These new events are pretty epic. Although I was hoping for more prize money to help me get to 20 million. Oh well... I'll have to find some other way. :p

IBTL posts offer no point and are just spam . as the IBTL thread states you ge banned for this.

 That's a bit rich for someone who said "how are we supposed to afford the good cars without BORING GRINDING NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO TO HELL PD. ", dont you think!?!

I bet your friends call you Einstein :dopey::dunce::sly:

Seriously though and back on topic, I'm using cars i wouldn't normally use and racing them stock for more of a challenge since the payouts are more or less defunct now...

How about everyone else?

You're saying you're level 25 and you don't have any money left and you need to grind? Well, then you blew all your credits on cars you didn't need.

Nope if you read it properly I never once said I was level 25 I gave that as an example of worst case scenario for people who are trying to get just 1 car and are complaining thats why it said IF

The credits ive used havent been wasted they've gone on cars that I use online in many different variations of racing with my friends so dont make stupid remarks

Continue your remarks through pm this doesnt need to turn to a flame war!

I only use seasonal's for money and well they have taken that out so I think I'm going to stop doing them.

But honestly what is the point? I could have done this in one of the amateur A-Spec races if I wanted to. PD didnt need to waste there time adding pointless events.

Also a slightly modded RX8 (295HP) destroys the competition in the FR races. They are even easier than they used to be.

Why do you have to use the 50-50 weight distribution and tuned RX8? Didn't you know the perfect balance it has? Take a ride on an untuned RX8 with 1 level better tires than the competition if you need a challenge, or a Japanese coupe (RX7,NSX) untuned with same tires as the competition. Why do all in here complain for these reasons? There are far more important things to be fixed. Things like this you said above can get fixed by us. 👍

They give out seasonal 7

And you STILL Moan! bunch of whining mingebags!!

Call of Duty Black Ops completed in 1 day.............Gran Turismo played for 2 months and 14 days and still enjoying it, with fresh content on a weekly basis, online play and still lots to do in the game for me (only A and B spec endurances left) Whats everybody's beef? C'mon boys and girls its a game, just enjoy it! If you've had enough just stop playing it..........simples

+1 There is no need to grind through the game, there are enough ways to get the exp you need to not race a single event more than once, as long as you only get (for the most part) the cars you need.

Is it just me, or is anyone else confused by some of the comments.

There are people complaing about grinding, just to earn more credits. Isn't grinding just the same as racing but with an over powered car. I think they are missing the point, and need to choose a car that will be more suited to the races they are entering. GT5 is not a challenge to be conquered, it is an experience to be enjoyed. Everyone has the power to make the game (and at the end of the day it is a game, not a way of life) more exciting by selecitn the right car.

Sorry I went off on one there.

Seasonal 7

I think that PD have done a good job, and I for one am happy with the selection. The money's not great, but it's not really a problem. I do need 5mil in credits to get an F1 car, but I'll just get Bob to do some grinding (without complaint) when I am doing other stuff.

How does only getting the cars you need help you with xp? Maybe I'm missing something, but I've got pretty much gold on anything but the higher level endurance races (yes, that means I raced all of them at least once), and I don't have enough xp together to unlock the next endurance race.

What are the ways to not need to race a single event more than once? I'd really like to know.

I said we needed longer races, Kaz is starting to listen to me.. Now if we could get 4 or 5 hundred more a-spec races..

Are the hp restrictions definite, or just a guideline?

Oh, and it would be nice if you after golding each of the bonus races were awarded a prize car. Even a crap one would be nice ;)

The 3 constants in the universe: Death, Taxes, and whining about GT5

The big payouts of the previous seasonal events were fun while they lasted, I admit it, but I have no problems with the current format. They gave us more races, after all. And you do the races for fun and because you like to race - padding your credits or XP is secondary.

I had all but given up on the F1 races (not a fan of the FGT anyway). I suddenly remembered a little thing called assists (I usually just go with ABS of 1). I set Stability On, Traction Off, Active Steering Off and Skid Recovery Force On with my normal ABS of 1 and was able to win all the races. One second or so lead in Tokyo and a comfortable win for the other two. I even forgot to max out the downforce until the last race! Top speed was set to around 218 mph. I used the F2007 in the end.

Other races will be easy in comparison.

Hear hear, GT5 has a massive community who are happy to help you. If you need a particular car all you have to do is ask. Me and my friends just gift cars to each other for certain events and they send them back when they have finished. I won the Toyota 7, used it for the historic racing cup then passed it onto my mate who did the same and so on and then eventually it arrives back?

Take a look at GTPlanet's feedback forum. What is the second highest requested feature for the game? More Race Events

THAT is exactly what PD has given us this week, and have even presented them as categorized A-Spec events. Add to that a superb F1 event, and you've got a healthy dose of icing on the cake. I think the new seasonal events are the best of the lot!

I don't get it when people complain that taking off the restrictions makes it too easy! Sure it does, but what's stopping you from taking an underpowered car to the race?! Just check out the 'Typical Opponents' list, and select a car from your garage that fits well with that list. 💡

As for the payout, even I would have loved higher numbers (who wouldn't?). But if PD are going to roll out these many number of events every week, it really won't be such an issue in the long run.

actually the F1 races in all pay out Cr. 368,300. but then again, what's the point of me even saying this, you lost your spoils of extremely easy xp and credits and feel the need to wine about it.

Besides the X2010 challenge.............. there is very little in this game that is hard.

O you must be under the mistaken impression that time consuming = hard. Well it doesn't.
