The delays are just more proof that the server update station is being manned by the bastard love child of B-Spec Bob and the Stig. (Have you ever seen such a cute little helmet?)

The reason for that is the rise of new technology everything is almost instant. Cellphone 15 years ago cellphones were like 10 lbs. Email? Cable Internet? The reason people are becoming inpatient is because how they were raised or have been conditioned for the past ten years to expect everything instantly, they become so accustomed that they don't expect things to be instant. However I am more upset about not having an estimated date for the update. The logical thing to do would be to state an update later than you expect it to go up. Therefore when its up early people are excited and if not it'll at least be up at the scheduled time. That how you deal with impatient for the current Media Convergence Generation.....How will Sony and PD survive *sigh* haha

When a pattern is established and announcements are made that state that pattern will continue then people expect it to continue. I don't believe patience has anything to do with it. I go to work at 9am everyday. If I don't show up until 10 one day people will ask me why I'm late. It's not them being impatient

This means, according to their schedule the update will propagate at any time between Tuesday@10am EST to Thursday@10am EST. Bitch about their communication all you want but they still have not deviated from what they have claimed. Will they? Will just have to wait and see, so until 10 hours or so from now comes can you guys please just wait? Ohh wait no, that is impossible, I forgot. Carry on.

I think a better analogy is a kid telling his Dad that he'll be back by 9pm, and he get's in after 10 (possibly the following day). Dad'll be pi$$ed for sure!

With the huge lack of events in this game, I'm a little disappointed that they haven't updated them yet. I was looking forward to doing something else in GT5 tonight other than B-Spec and car testing.

But I can wait until tomorrow.

Obviously you don't play online much? Online has unlimited races.. and they can be damn fun too if you find a good group (which GTP has plenty)

unless of course, you're only racing for XP and cash.. then no, online isn't the choice.

But you have to be there physically its your obligation, they did say +/- one day so they are still in their obligation to bring the update. It has everything to do with patience.

I'm also don't talking about your job. I'm talking about the shift in technology when everything is so on demand, fast quick and usually accurate. While your waiting for the update read up on Media Convergence. You have to be at work at 9 am everyday, okay if you aren't you get fired thats a Social Fact and a Social Norm has nothing to do with Gran Turismo 5 updates. I was just explaining why people get impatient about digital flow of media.
 
Maybe they are working on getting us that new Car Club feature as well,so the seasonal events would be delayed until tomorrow?

I know...wishful thinking.:)
 
The most upsetting thing is that now I have to grind Indy to raise the funds to buy all these lovely Rally Cars

I do plan on playing online, but I have a set of cars ranging from 250HP - 800HP so I can be prepared for any room with a HP limit. I want to test and tune these cars first before going online.
 
I'm as impatient about this seasonal event as the next person...

...the sad part is I've been sitting here keeping up with this thread instead of playing the game...and I even joined GTP in the process so I could join in on the fun haha.

When was the GT Academy event changed? Did that happen with the OCD update, or did it happen at a different time? (Note: I already know the answer; I'm pointing out the inconsistency in the poster's logic.)

Don't waste your time. The handling characteristics change from A-Spec to online. A perfect handling car will drive differently online. Weird...

Actually, you were right BMW. The idiot poking fun at you should learn to think before typing or maybe learn to open "their" mouth only to put "their" foot in "there" (mouth) haha I could not resist. LOL
 
Even if it's 1.06 coming out instead of a seasonal (whcih I'm sure we'll still get), the update will mostly just be for the "GT Anywhere" thing.
