The third "entry' event on chamonix is giving me problems,I can barely scratch bronze even though I got gold for the other 2..any advice? I'm running with all aids off, except ABS

I must admit to using SRF, ABS and Stability and Golded it the first time I finished it. I had the driving line on so that I knew (in places) when not to brake (which came after some attempts and the Arcade run)!

I have my suspicions about that race or at least the car. I was having problems learning the track on the Challenge so went into Arcade to practice. I had the C4 WRC, with the settings identical to the way I was doing the Challenge and was 40 seconds inside the Gold time there which at the time struck me as suspicious. Why should I be so much faster in the Arcade? The car felt absolutely superb to drive there even with the assists compared to the reluctant specimen I was having to contend with in the Challenge. I suppose if you get used to it at speed in the Arcade the actual Challenge will seem that bit easier with the slower car.

Turn Driving line off, TCS off, ABS 1, SRF on, Everything else of, with automatic, Should be easy so long as you brake for corners and mash X when you see the exit, I golded all of them with a Dual Shock 3, without practice.

Edit: I overtook the ghost using this, and have replays if there's a way to send them in game

The torque split setup is usually all wrong. It's 30/70 on a blasted snow course. Mind your momentum and change the torque split to 50/50 before you get on and you will be far more stable when exiting corners and under acceleration. That extra accelerating traction will shave off your time.

I was having troubles on this one as well, even though I had golded the first two relatively easily.

What I did on Chamonix was to change the torque distribution from the original 70/30 to 50/50. On my first try after that, I golded it.

My aids were exactly like yours: everything off; only ABS=1.

Try using ABS1 and skid recovery. Otherwise just learn the courses corner by corner. There times aren't too difficult to beat

I left all the aids on and imitated everything the ghost did, on the 2nd one, I even beat Loeb! (Somehow)

leave tcs on at 1,if you can gold the 2nd one chamonix should be easy. dont listen to the driving line, only brake on hairpins... if you see red on the driving line, lift off on most corners except the hairpins.steady hands on the steering tho if your on th DS3...

1. Learn the track!
2. 50/50 F/R torque
3. Rally IS NOT a drift, amazingly it's more like normal racing but on dirt.

When you get gold once - then you be able to do it from the first try!Good Luck!

I have tried this a million times without succes until I have seen the tutotial video, after that golded all by 3-4 sec

GOLD!! I did a 4.06!! After a stint in my lamborghini i did the event again and taa dahh! Thanks guys, especially mmmm5!

Spent about 6 hours on all three tracks. Ran with the DS3 a bunch of times and couldn't get even close to bronze. Buddy loaned me his DFGT and running lap after lap was finally able to get all gold. Chamoix seemed to be the easiest of the three. Totally satisfying after all that hard work getting the gold. Now I can rock the seasonal challenge with my new shiny citron red bull.

Wheel is the only way to go. Got a fanatec wheel coming on Tuesday and can't wait. DFGT is amazing and if the fanatec is better not sure how you can get better. :)

Controller is impossible.I switched to a wheel ages ago.best choice ever:tup:

Thanks to all of you with tips.

I couldn't find anywhere to change the differential settings, but ABS on 1, ASR on and everything else turned off was enough on all 3 tracks using DS3.

Only managed a 4:13.163 on Chamonix which is nowhere near the 4.06s people are getting but enough for me to get the C4 for the Seasonal bonus so will do me.

This is weird because i always use the dfgt but for this event i found the controller way way easier.

My advice is. go really really slowly and steer with the throttle. turf the wheel. Trust me. slow and steady wins here.

Same method goes for the final gt rally event.

tried for hours on the last 2 of these the other day. tried them out today, golded both of them on the 3rd try, no aids....

turn off all assists not called ABS, piece of cake

you MAY need to turn on Skid Force Recovery for the snow level though

turning off all forms of traction control off completely.

don't push too much on the gas and brakes. use the driving line, break with light taps before the red line in steep corners. all of them are goldable.

SRF on (or off, with it on i won by a HUGE margin)
Brake in a straight line.
Set the wheel bias to 50/50 with race menu (doable on DS3 if you re-program buttons)
Use throttle to get around corners, a little bit here and there will do.

If you want to get good at the terrain, just practice by finishing all the rally events with the Lancer Super Rally Car.

Why don't drive on the weeds?
Why don't Brake long distance?
Why don't keep corning under 60km/h?
Why don't ignore Sebastian loeb ghost?
