Thank you for the love guys, Finland has a great fanbase 👍

Apropos Scandinavia, I really don´t understand why this thread was closed: People Who Want Saab in Gt6

Dedication to a single Manufacturer, that had little to zero presence in GT, coming from the heart on top, deserves to be discussed seperately. Not drowned in and forgotten in a thread with 5000 replies!

Of course they should. The Vauxhall renamed Opel cars... NO.

Why not? If it means we'd be getting LHD Opels and RHD Vauxhalls (like the Toyota/Scion or Acura/Honda examples in GT5) there would be a significant enough reason to include both, although there are apparantly RHD Opels as well so we might instead get both in RHD...
Opel/Vauxhall will have their Standard cars carried over but I'm afraid we won't get anymore than one or 2 Premium cars (if at all) since a brand like Mercedes for example only gets 3 new additions.
Ofcourse they already had a small amount of Premium cars and Opel/Vauxhall none but still.

So my guess is that we'll be getting both Vauxhall and Opel again if Premium material is added, Opel and Vauxhall will possibly (and hopefully) both include the Insignia OPC/VXR (and Buick will probably have a Regal added ), maybe Opel an Ampera alone (LHD and most likely then a Chevrolet Volt version too) whilst Vauxhall might have one of the rebadged Holden high-performance cars assuming that Holden will be added too making both Opel and Vauxhall having 2 Premium cars.

That's the most optimistic scenario I'm afraid, although I hope I'm wrong (but right about the Insignia being added).

They will, jagenigma, I just didn´t update the thread title yet. I know it is confusing now that we know about every car going to be in GT6 and some will get the premium treatment.

Right now I am curious wich Opel, if any, will become a full premium. Hoping for the Calibra DTM of course.

But that stuff doesn´t satisfy me really. What would do so would be a newly added car of the brand, one that has never been in GT before, and I couldn´t care less wich one, and if it was a 1993 Vectra A 1.6  I would still be happy thinking heres to hoping there will be more to come soon.

That´s why I started this thread, actually, there were several thoughts behind it:

One was to see how many people would speak up for the brand, that´s why there was a poll

Another was to see wich models would be requested

both have been getting much better response than I had thought, given this site is mainly used by people from countries where the Opel brand is barely known.

the last being, to hand over the links to this thread to people who are in charge on things. There are two big problems though, it is hard to reach Polyphony in any way. And from Opel´s side they played it down most of the time, in their ignorance they probably thought "pfff, that´s just a game, we have other things to deal with". (I understand them saying that in a way)

They fail to see how an addition of the sporty OPC models, for example, could help them gain popularity and reputation. I´m in contact with Opel´s head of social-media and I write e-mails and post comments on their official blog all I get is "oh, great game"and "yeah, good idea, we will think about that" and so on. :grumpy:

All this is way more than just a personal wishlist, it´s dedication from the heart. And that´s not going to stop.

Great idea Analog, haven´t thought about that way to kind of seperate Opel and Vauxhall a bit. Pretend PD would want to add a Vaux. VXR8 until they realize there is no counterpart Opel...maybe then they would understand how they messed up with the DTM´s ("Supertouring Cars").

Yes, more manufacturers, the better, plus with Opel they can add Buicks in since the newer Buick models are basically Opel no?

In late 1968 Opel invited [Erich] Bitter to drive a new Rekord with 150bhp under the bonnet. Dressed in black and understatedly named "The Taxi", the saloon was more than a match for higher group Porsches with Bitter setting the fastest lap in its class. Those races in the Rekord forged links with GM's German management, links that would prove to be valuable in the years ahead. Bitter won both friends and respect at the Russelheim car maker. (from the Bitter website)

In short, this TC was driven by Erich Bitter and Niki Lauda, didn´t have major succes (according to wiki) and the remaining of the original car was not certain.

In 2012, Opel Classic, rebuild the car with the support of Anatole Lapine

I would say yes because then we would get all the Saab cars too the rebadged Vectras 

I'd say you'd be best off getting in contact with Vauxhall and asking them to consider licensing more cars to GT, as they added their Insignia VXR as DLC to Forza 3, and with the latest Astra being the Reasonably Priced Car, there's a chance they'd want to cross promote it with GT and the Top Gear track.

What, the Astra is the new Reasonably Priced Car? Ha ha I didn´t even know that, last time I checked TG website they haven´t announced it... hmmm and Clarkson was ok with that??? Thought he "hates" Vauxhall...

It´s pretty hard to stay in contact with Volker Strycek, Head of the Opel Perfomance Center, or any other representatives. Since I live in France/Germany it would be even harder to get in contact with anybody at Vauxhall I´m afraid.

I think that is the joke they are saying that vauxhall are cheap nd nasty cars :)

I think what they are saying is that they consider it as being reasonably priced, wich has nothing to do with being cheap, otherwise they wouldn´t have chosen it and that´s what they actually said on episode 1 of series 20. And 17.345 Pounds isn´t exactly cheap plus I have no idea what a "nasty car" would be.

@VXR, if GT had any of the former RPC´s I would see the chances you have mentioned, but GT didn´t even have the Liana!!! A Japanese car after all.

A nasty car is a car which is badly built which is what vauxhall are there is no built quality when you close the door on a vauxhall it's like someone banging two pan lids together which is why I would never own one.
I personally think ford are a better car to own :)

I agree they were badly built. A friend of mine had a Corsa like the one in GT5 and it was absolute c***. But nowadays their cars aren't that bad. Look at Insignia. It's a very good car and it's good looking.
Then we have the Astra, which is a great car.
And finally, the Adam a bloody brilliant little car. Me and my brother absolutly love that car and named it the small car of the year along side the VW UP!.
But the more the merrier, bring Opel to the "party"

Vauxhall might have had a rough spot, but their current range is nowhere near badly built. My 2003 Astra is well screwed together, although Bertone built it. My dad's 91 Cavalier had a much nicer interior than my 93 BMW 320, too.

O dear, look at what Mr. Lopez has done... There are still people today who think Opel/Vauxhall are badly built, I guess a destroyed reputation will last equally a long time in the minds of people as it takes to regain said reputation.

Strangely enough, there are still a bunch of Lopez-Era Opel/Vauxhalls on the streets today and although they might often be in a bad condition, they are there... I don´t even remember when the last time was that I had seen a... say Escort Mk4.

Very true. Fords from that era are thin on the ground in my part of the world, yet Vauxhalls of that age are plentiful.

i finally saw my first Insignia in Melbourne, over the weekend. It looks just like it does in pictures. I wasn't too enthused but, i'd drive it in the game.

I don't think we need to post the entire Opel lineup here.......
To be honest, I can easily see Opel being integrated into GT. Vauxhall is already in, and several cars in the Opel lineup are identical to some cars in GT already.

Opel Astra OPC Cup please.
10.JPG

Maybe the Corsa OPC, Speedster, GT 1.9 and Astra OPC road cars would be useful as well, and the classic Astra V8 DTM car, but it's not a terribly enticing brand overall. Still want that Astra OPC Cup though.
