Why should they? What they could do is patch the game to make sure it can't be exploited. If you bought credits I feel bad for you but it wasn't as if you were forced to do it.

It's not false advertising. They likely weren't aware of the glitch. Buying any credits was only going to be useful for people who had more money than they knew what to do with.
