My wife purchased this and it showed up yesterday. I thought it was too cool to not share.
It's a digital stethoscope that shows the heart rhythm and rate on the display and has a built-in amplifier to make it easier to hear the heart beat. If you have long term patients, it will record it so you can compare from one day to the next.
And yes, she opted for the pink cover and ear pieces to keep the doctors away from it.
I bought two vinyl albums for my own collection for the first time in many years - in fact, I've only bought something like 4 vinyls since I was a kid, and the last two have been gifts for friends. My last vinyl purchase for myself was Rush - Permanent Waves 40th Anniversary Super Deluxe boxset. These two albums were just £30 each, which is something of a bargain considering how much some places charge for vinyl these days.
Both of these albums mean a lot to me personally. 'Olias of Sunhillow' is a vinyl that my uncle had in his collection, and I've had the album since I was about 16 - I've wanted the original vinyl for years, and the one I just bought is near-identical to the original release - textured cover, gatefold sleeve and full inlay materials. Mike Oldfield is a relatively new addition to my music listening canon, and I've been listening to his 'classic' era albums since about 2018 - 'Ommadawn' is actually not my favourite Oldfield album, but it is still so good that it ranks among my current favourites.
Both albums are symbolic of my own musical style - very much a solo effort, and so these are going to go on display in my new music room here at my Mum's...
I have bought some "new" dusty old games for my GT collection, check them out:
Found this Collector's Edition of GT5 at a local games shop, couldn't let it pass.
Price: 22 euros, everything seems to be there, the Apex magazine, the game itself (with manual included) and the 5 exclusive pictures... all in a pretty good shape, except for the outer cover box which definitely has seen better days (sadly it has a massive tear on the underside, nothing a little duct tape couldn't fix but yeah).
... and there's more:
Heck yeah!! Look at this beauty, the original japanese edition of the 1st Gran Turismo!
I'm so glad I found this (also on the same shop), the overall condition of the CD, manual and box is very good so it's worth every single one of the 15 euros I've payed for it.
PS: for those interested, here's a picture of my GT collection with everything I bought so far:
This is what I'd consider a very "cool" collection (because it's sitting on top of a freezer duh...)
I know this is not the most complete or valuable collection ever, as I'm missing some of the anniversary editions as well as GT Sport and what not, but please keep in mind the fact that 4 years ago I only had one Gran Turismo in my collection (GT6).
So, this collection has come a long way since then, I guess!
I definitely don't consider myself a hardcore GT fan by any means, but the series has steadily grown on me for the past few years, and I'm yet to play most of these games as I've only played GT6 so far, and I'm currently playing GT7 and 5.
I'll get there someday!
Bought it this past summer so that I can go travel through airports, due to all the dumb checks
What freedom are we talking Bout nowadays in this country ?!
Just received this this evening
Edit:
My OG PS5 is also getting an early Christmas 🎁 presents:
This is not all of it, there are bigger parts too, but it's about $2300 worth of bits and pieces for me to fix the N55 on me bmw
Now comes the hard part to put everything back together
Edit:
I just finished verifying the list, everything looks to be accounted for ..
And I kitted them, in the order I will need to assemble them, going in first to last from left to right...
Its all in the name to ensure the car does not leak anymore...
Valve cover and gaskets
Oil housing gaskets and seals
Oil pan cover gaskets and all other seals...bolts and hoses.... Refresh a 14 years old engine...
I was hunting this one down. About $60 USD, local sales tax included at a big Wal-Mart where I was doing some groceries. And also recently I just bought a new real 🚗 for my ass and it cost me a lot but right now I have really luxury one)

Got this today! Although a bit janky, I am a fan of the PS1 version of SpongeBob Squarepants SuperSponge, and I had a friend tell me a few things about the GBA version a while ago that was enough to make me want this version of the game. So, I finally decided to look for it and eventually found a cartridge that had that and 3 other games all in one, which I thought was great. Not only did I like SpongeBob, but I was also a fan of The Fairly Oddparents growing up, and although I was not allowed to watch Rocket Power, I was somewhat partial to it. I like Nick in general, so this seemed like a good deal for me.
Unfortunately, it wasn't without problems, though. When I got the game, it would not read on my GBA, my GBA SP could only partially read it, and a device I have made to read them also struggled. So I tried cleaning it with rubbing alcohol, and it still refused to work. Fortunately, I had bought some tri-wing screwdrivers a long time ago that were later used to install the backlight kit I have now, and thanks to this, I was able to disassemble the cartridge and give it a more thorough cleaning. Upon doing so, I realized one of the pins on the cartridge had apparently broken off at some point, which could explain why it wasn't reading. Fortunately, after that thorough cleaning, although it was stubborn at first, it eventually started working as intended and has been fine ever since.
While that ordeal was unfortunate, I am just thankful it even works because the seller does not accept returns, and I am eager to play it. So much so, I am about to get off here, and do so in a little bit. Hopefully, no further problems occur down the line while I am playing. 🤞
Go figure, it was packaged in a Dr. Dre case, and the language on the back of the case is so bad, I can't even post it here. Although I have an NTSC copy of the game already that once belonged to my cousin, I've wanted to get a PAL copy lately since it has some interesting differences, including music tracks not present on the NTSC version, just to provide a slightly different experience. Although I really wish I could've got it with the right case and cover, I finally found a US seller that had it for a reasonable price after seeing so many overseas that cost a lot, so I got this one. Just in time too, because I've been wanting to revisit Spyro 1 sometime before Christmas. Although I do have the Playstation Classic, which has some PAL games on it, this is actually my very first physical PAL disc.
While this is where I would usually write a happy note here, that sadly is not the case for this one. The disc unfortunately is too scratched up for me to do anything with it right now. Mind you, I knew beforehand it was scratched by looking at the pictures, but I took a chance because of what I said above, and I have had some discs before that looked about as bad and still worked. Thankfully, it's not a lost cause because my PC at the very least recognizes it, and I've looked at ways to clean discs some this year, which I have put off on for too long now, and I am confident this one can be fixed with a little time. Hopefully, by the end of the week I can get it working. 🤞
These two prints are from my Patreon subscriptions. The first is a 4x6 print of Hawkgirl by Mike Maihack. Unfortunately the photo kind of kills it, but the background has this impressive metallic sheen that really pops in person. I bought a red frame for it, but accidentally bought two. So when this Krampus card arrived in the mail from my Patreon subscription to Yamino (creator/writer/artist of the webcomic Sister Claire), I was ready. It’s just printed on construction paper and wasn’t exactly 4x6 (it was a little too wide and a little too short), but I realized if I trimmed some of the blank from the left side and put it over the top, it would fit almost perfectly.
The next thing I got was a film camera from the Second Annual 💩 Camera Challenge. I didn’t know about it last year, but I jumped on it this year. A camera collector sold 47 cameras this year. Each one is a blind buy. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t. But the entire $50 purchase price goes to the Trevor Project. I have a lot of camera film in several sizes, as well as a small handful of film cameras. And it’s a worthy cause, so I jumped on it. I got a 1962 Yashica J 35mm rangefinder. Even better, it looks like it works. I can hopefully start taking pictures with it this weekend.
Finished my last final of the semester and decided to take the bus to a local art store. Grabbed a couple of my favorite notebooks for classes next semester and regular notetaking, got some plain black ink cartridges for use doing cross-writing, and grabbed a bottle from a company I've wanted to try for quote a while, Krishna Ink out of India. This is their Dhumala ink, a nice purple! The cartridges are Pelikan Black, just a good, reliable ink that I can use just about any time!
Bought a house. Took a hot minute, but when you have a fellow gearhead for a wife, we had to find the right place for the cars.
Having our private celebratory toast, we’re congratulated by our first visitor.
Meet, as my wife calls him, “Sack”. Not Zack. Just “Sack”. 🤔
About ten minutes later, we were congratulated by another neighbour of nature, “George”. He was a bushy-tailed fellow(brushtail). Gave a quick “Waddup?!” as he ran across the top of the fence.
Also greeted by a couple, on the bigger side, kookaburras. Having a hearty laugh by the pool.
Crazy hot today 40 degrees C 🥵and the heat will continue through the weekend as we finish moving in. Good stuff!
