Nürburgring 24h
Well, I did a lot of drinking, but unfortunately not a lot of Pictures. I only had my phone at Hand, maybe Simba used his camera to capture some more.
It was fun, the hottest Weekend since 17 years or something like that, it was pretty hot and dry, which is very unusual for the Eifel region.
Why don't you lot take a camper, or just a tent, and get over the channel (or wherever you come from) to experience this amazing week around the 24 hours Race next year, 2018?
To the Pictures below:
1. We drove up there with a 1982 Hymer Motorhome, based on Mercedes. It has a 2.4L 4cyl. PETROL(!) engine which was running good but lacked power.
2. made it up to the 'Ring and settled down for a week
3. Friday evening, after race related Events have come to a halt, People can go ON the track! But me and friends went there wednesday already, so I could make this shot without any other People around
4. 1st bonfire, although there wasn't much need for it, it was so hot.
5. At the fence to enjoy watching some racing, shots must be from early 1st Qualifying, I guess. I didn't take any Pictures from the Classics this time
6/7. A Little inside look into the Manta, she has the best 4cyl. engine mankind has ever produced! Two Calibras where running in the 24hrs race, which have the same engine, of course.
8. Watching the start from the Müllenbach Schleife, GP Track, got sunburned badly...
9. Holden Maloo's aren't exactly the most common car to see in mainland Europe... so for me, it's very exciting when I get a Chance to spot one.
10. Bonfire right by the fence (FIA fence-safety stuff
) and staying awake as Long as possible throughout the night of the main race. Made it to after dawn, fell into the tent sometime at 4 or 5... woke up at 8!
11. saying goodbye to the Nurburgring while everyone was dismantling their camping sites on Sunday evening after the race, the worst part of the whole week, but you are cheered up by the positive thoughts of "coming back next year!" 👍
To get a taste of the Classics Race (3hour race) here's a Video of the livestream, but it's german:
