Project Cars 2 will be releasing on 22nd September 2017 with an improved car and track list. I would like to move across to the new game as soon as possible after launch (subject to a short period for car and track testing).

Unfortunately a few cars from PC1 will not be appearing in PC2 - I have therefore decided to alter our race programme after the current series end and showcase a few of the more interesting cars that will not be in PC2.

On Mondays we are currently racing the BMW 2002 Stance Works or Mercedes AMG 6.8 Historic saloons. When this series ends we will run a short season for the Caterham Seven Classic followed by a season in the Caper Montery Stockcar. Revised track list to be issued shortly.

On Wednesdays we are currently racing the Lotus Type 49C/49 - we will complete an extra round (Silverstone GP) to replace one which was missed earlier. Ruf will disappear from PC2 to be replaced by Porsche. When the current series ends we will run a season of GT1-X using the Ruf. Revised track list to be issued shortly.

The above new series will run until we switch to PC2. I would like to know from you all when you plan on getting the game - for example day one / preordered or Christmas present etc. Originally I was planning to get PC2 for Christmas from my family, but they very generously preordered already as a late birthday present!

I know some of you will be disappointed that we are not running Group A next, but this category has been expanded in PC2 therefore we will return to that later ad will no doubt run multiple series.

On PC2 I am planning to include some series for future classics (e.g. GT3, GT4, GTE etc.) as well as our traditional classic and historic cars.

Below - posters, track lists and further details will appear on the Monday and Wednesday threads asap (after PC2 as gone Gold). Please add any comments, questions or relevant thoughts to this thread.

Nice to see @John Wells and @Mr Tree are getting the game straight away - hopefully a few more of you are so we can move onto the new game early. Also, I'll be needing a bit of help with testing some of the cars - for example how do the Group A compare with each other. How do the Group 5 cars compare - how much faster are Group 6 than Group 5 etc.

I have pre ordered game, still enjoying the first one. Happy with what ever we do:D
What cars aren't new game?

SMS have had to renegotiate licensing for the cars from PC1 plus negotiate deals for new content. Apparently Porsche have been added to the game, but insisted that Ruf be dropped (Although Ruf is registered as a separate manufacturer it receives bodyshells and many other parts from Porsche).

I believe that Pagani is being dropped - don't know why.

The Caper Monterey is a fictional 1990 Stockcar - so presumably no licensing issue, but perhaps it is being replaced by a real car? I hope so - that is a strange one, because we now have some oval tracks. It has a ridiculous amount of grip for such a heavy car so perhaps the physics is too far from reality to warrant inclusion - just guessing!

The Caterham R500 is dropped and replaced with their new range topper the 620. The Seven Classic is dropped which I thin is the biggest loss of all - it only has 110bhp, but that is enough to make it a lot of fun. This was the car which I learnt to drive PC1 with - at first it was very tricky, but you can get into a great rhythm.

There are some modern cars which are dropped and replaced with the latest version. Most of the cars transfer across. I am really looking forward to the Escort RS1600 as that will now have three versions - road, race and rally cross.

Hey I've only just bought PC1 and I'm still getting to grips/up to speed with it (puns intended). ;)

I would like to know from you all when you plan on getting the game
Probably not straight away. If I do get it it'll most likely be when it's dropped in price a little, or on offer, and by then they'll have ironed out the initial bugs.
I'd like to wait for a GOTY edition to get all the added content but by then I'd think that PC3 might be on the horizon. If everyone is saying it's the bees knees then I might just cave in and get it.

I'm liking the Caterham by the way, think I've got the hang of it. And a RUF! As it happens I was throwing the CTR yellowthing around quite successfully yesterday so one with a bit of of downforce should be a piece of cake - probably. :)

I've met a lovely girl and my spare time will be a little more limited :P

Mr Tree - make sure the lovely girl knows that you are not free Monday and Wednesday between 20:30 and 21:30 BST, but you are free for the other 166 hours!

That is the sensible, measured response I would expect! Any chance you could join us tonight in the BMW 2002 Stance Works or Mercedes AMG 6.8 at Zolder? It should be a lot of fun as the track really suits those cars.

When I first got the game I found the GT1-X cars impossible to drive, but now find them a lot of fun - the Ruf has a good, clear cockpit view and a reasonable sound - the other Ruf racing car (the GT3 model) has a terrible sound - for some reason they must have used a 4 cylinder sample! I am hoping you can join us for the races - how does the time fit with your family duties?

Must dash - off to work now - see y'all on track at 20:30 tonight!

"Family duties" are a bit hit and miss so unfortunately I'm not, for now, going to be able to necessarily attend every meeting. But you'll see a bit more of me now hopefully.

I've just noticed you race in cockpit view, just when I've got a game with proper bonnet views and a mirror at last. :P

Hi mate! Sorry I have been working outside the UK recently so I haven't been online. I will add your PSN this evening

That's great and welcome back! Hopefully see you on track soon!

Quick question did GTPlanet make you become a Premium member in order to post in the forums or was there still an option when you joined to become a free member - the reason I ask is that another player who is not yet a member said he couldn't post in our threads unless he paid $9.99. If this is right GTPlanet has become a pay site for new members, but I haven't seen anything on the site news about this.

Hi mate,

Yes I was unable to comment or post anything until I paid $9.99 for a year which is pretty crappy but it's not a great of money.

That's very interesting - thanks for posting. I hope the rest of us who joined when it was a free site don't have to start paying! I haven't seen anything about this in the site news.

What do you think about this @IfAndOr ? and you others.

Everything is going up in price - PlayStation Network going up £10 per year or £5 per quarter and now GTPlanet charging new members!

I'm not a premium member, can post as many thing as I want. Yeah I haven't heard of this before, maybe someone could ask. All money, to play, join forums:banghead::boggled::yuck::grumpy:

Well I don't think it's a pay to post site. Maybe there's been some sort of glitch that has been disabling posting to new members since from reading Jod's message (on your Wednesday page) he had the same problem. Although the mods have fixed it for him now, without premium membership.

Premium isn't that dear thankfully and it does get rid of those pesky adverts (and it helps the site out).

Oh and hello to Tigga. 👍
