I did, and I think I got pretty close but it wasn't good settings that got me there. Understanding physics, like you also mentioned, played a pretty big roll. I still believe if your settings aren’t incredibly bad they are probably fine though. However, I definitely see your point.
I am glad we could come to an agreement.

Do you have any vids? I would be interested in seeing your skill.;)

Yeah "Opposite Lock" it's the first vid in the drifting video section here on GTP. It's about 1.5 years old i think, so the stuff in there was pretty "new" at the time... not so much anymore.

i also find drifting sims is easier.. but i dont tune.. keep it stock, like what i can afford IRL..

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that vid. Not bad, overall. Why don't you have any newer vids? ;)

It just takes so much time to get a lot of quality drifts then put them together into a quality vid, plus everything has already been done… really the only special drift videos out there now are twin drifting. I haven't seen anything special from a single drifter in a while. Although recently people that drift with the DS2 have gotten a lot better. It used to be, just a year ago, that if it wasn't done with a wheel then wasn't all that good, sure they would claim to be as good a the "wheel" drifter but in the end there was a big gap. But now DS2 drifters are where wheel drifters were a few years ago, but the wheels really haven't moved from there so it's pretty even now.

Anyways, I did a one lapper for the drift comp a few months ago, but that's about it. I got to a point there where I felt there was really nothing left to learn about drifting. I really couldn't see any way to get any better at it, besides twin drifting, so it got a little boring. So I have very little new footage since. Now I drift maybe once a month so I'm pretty bad now lol, well not really but it would take me a few days to get it back I think.

Yeah, I've worked pretty hard at emulating a wheel with the Dual Shock. My next vid will be something different, I promise. I have many good replays, and with some pretty interesting links. That's what I strive for now......making the most dificult and smooth links possible, and trying to find new link possibilities. Well, I hope you decide to come back into drifting eventualy. This team battle is going to be interesting, and some new blood is starting to emerge. I think in a month, GTP is going to be dripping with drifting enthusiasm. ;)

I vote sims, but thats just cause I use 'em... I have used the slicks before and saw nothing wrong with 'em... but IMO I say sims.

Simulation Tires all the way. Never touched anything different, and never will. I tune from stock to about an absolute maximum of +125HP, if that...depending upon the drivetrain. If the car has JGTC-type horse power, then I turn up the TCS a level or two.

P.S.

Do what makes you feel good. To each his own.
