Since when can't we back up our save?!

is there any danger in backing up horribly wrong and somehow deleting the original game save and being left with no saved data? i think that's my fear - trying to cover myself but end up making a problem that didn't exist.

edit: what difference is there between FAT 16 and FAT 32. My memory stick is currently FAT - will this work Ok?

Ok, what about this scenario? My PS3 craps out and has to be sent to Sony for repairs, I get back a refurbished model. My GT5 file is saved both to USB and online storage, when I upload from the stick it gives the whole different user crap. However when I upload from the online storage it appears to work, except all my coursemaker custom tracks are gone and many car icons don't come up on the screen whern you go into the garage, you can still use the cars but you can't see their pcitures in the garage. Is there some way around this incomplete upload, or have I missed something? Is there something wrong with the online storage thing?

FAT = FAT 16, so your memory stick will work.

The difference between FAT 16 and FAT 32 is the size of the addressing. Basically FAT 16 can only have 65k addresses so the sizes are larger so you could be wasting some space.

If you two or more accounts for duping/trading, best thing to do is label your flashdrives so you don't get them mixed up.
