Hello guys and gals:
Does anyone here listen to the Iowa boys of "SlipKnot", I just recently got back fomr there concert and it was so bad ass. I love there style, music, and ow ya the clown running around like a dumb ass! :sly:
 
They're the best of the punk/hard rock. I love Duality.
 
How can you call slipknot punk?

They're the only band that takes 9 people to suck.
 
Slipknot isn't punk its metal!! Oh by the way I am a Slipknot fan, have all 3 albums + their live DVD. The best songs that I like are Duality of the new album, but I also Like My Plague and Wait and Bleed.

I saw the music video of "Duality" on Headbanger's Ball about two weeks ago, when they presented the special Ozzfest Edition.
 
Yes it wasw in the USA, and it was the OzzFest, im here in American visiting my mum and pop.

I love the songs
7 and the last 2 on there new cd. The slow one ****ing rocks!

Also dont come in here and dis our music kid, do that some where else. **** FACE

I thought you were in the UK since thats what your Location thing says. Lucky you you have been to the show, Im going to miss it since I don't have cash to go to the tour.
I guess your more into Rock then Metal.

MOre of a total punk rocker... but I love the older rock/metal bands.
 
I was into Slipknot about a couple years back, but not so much anymore. I think a lot of the fans and their whole sort of, "I ****ing hate everyone." mentality turned me away. I read some sort of book about them, and in an interview one of 'em said, "If I wasn't doing this, I'd probably be out killing people.". C'mon, doesn't that sound horribly fake and juvinelle? I still enjoy their songs every now and then, but not that often.

I saw 'em live at the Pledge of Allegience Tour. Holy, crap. They were good, along with Mudvayne, but the best had to be Rammstein. Awsome show.

Sorry, you guys know I'm not into bagging out other bands, I only state if I like them or not, but that's kinda funny.

I've said it before, Slipknot have ALOT of potential if the singer didn't sing soft. For one, I don't like softer singing :lol:, but THAT'S NOT THE POINT, I believe the softer singing doesn't suit their image. I think if they dropped the softer singing, they'd become a more respectable Metal band in the eyes of the Hardcore Metallers, whether or not they have 9 people or not. I don't mind the 9 people though, sadly, I think it gives them a bit more of an on-stage energy edge over other bands. But still, Slipknot have potential, they just have to use it.

I don't mind if they sing soft in a couple of songs, but not the whole album.

Fact - If SlipKnot didn't wear stupid costumes they would never be as popular as they are today.

That's not to say they wouldn't have fans. They might still have decent success, but they made it big because of the stupid costumes. That right there makes me think less of them as a band. That's a problem because I don't think highly of them anyway. As Jimmy Enslashay and I discussed in another thread, I feel the opposite of him in regards to music. I HATE listening to people scream for the duration of every song. It's annoying.

I don't think the masks are stupid, they are cool. Especially Sid's skull mask:

I really don't care if they scream or sing, I still hear the songs.
 
I like aggressive music, it's just me. But I know what you're saying Ethix, and alot of my friends are the same. Just comes down to preference. I mean I'm not ignorant to other music, most of my Primary Schooling was missed because I constantly travelled around with my Dad's band. He was a normal Rock band, covered a lot of 70's and 80's Rock. I appreciate alot of different kinds of music, whether I like to listen to it or not. Most of my friends play in normal Rock or even Punk Rock (which I hate) bands. But I prefer raw aggression, heavy and fast.

I'm also not into Goth or anything either, so don't make a mental picture of me like that :lol:

Something I found out about Slipknot is that they were touring with the Jagermeister tour before starting with Ozzfest. Found this out when I was researching Jagermeister for tour dates for this fall with Slayer. Didn't find any at least yet.

Acording to Slipknot News website, Duality will be featured on some soundtrack of chucky, don't remember the actual name of the CD. Vermillion will be featured on some other soundtrack. Too lazy to find out right now. I'll edit later.
 
Yes, Slipknot headlined last years tour, Slayer the year before. Last year's tour didn't do so good, but the Slayer one 2 years ago did great. I'm guessing they want a remake of this, but I don't think they will to be honest.

We'll see anyway.

i have the ne wone and iowa, i only liked, liked )that was weird saying...( like six songs on iowa all the did was scream on the rest it got so ****ing annoying
 
Nothing wrong with screaming, I wish they did that and cut out the soft singing. Lol. Also, iceman, do you mean what bands were there, or who from this forum went?
 
Slipknot is one of my favorite bands. They are actually coming to concert about 30 miles from my house this month on Sunday the 22 of August. They are playing with Slayer and Haterbreed. Should be a killer show. I have seen them once before and it was a great concert. This time im bringing my girlfriend. SHe has never seen them an they are also her favorite band.

Yes it was kick ass. Slipknot never disappoints. I have seen them do a better show but this was a good show since they were in a smaller place. I picked my girlfriend up and the lead singer pinted to her and smiled. SO that made her day since SLipknot is her favorite band. And also one of my favorite bands. 👍
