How well does the SLR perform? It is really heavy, but does that effect turning? What kind of aero kits can be installed?

Slightly heavier than the sls (after max redux), 1313kg (sls) vs 1328kg (SLR). but corners like it's 200 to 300kg more. Plenty of power and Decent cornering for a road car. Overall a decent car, I expected better. The SLS is much better in all aspects.

I like it, but I don't love it. It's fast and very powerful, but I feel it lacks the sense of fun of the SLS. It is very quick, though, and If you have enough money to waste then you should buy it and see if you like it.

Can you stop posting useless threads and just buy the freaking car?

Reported.

Somebody got out of the wrong side if bed this morning.

In all fairness, he asked a simple, inoffensive question, hoping to get a reasonable answer. Yes, there may be other ways to get this information, but I don't see why it should be reported.

The slr is quite fast for how heavy it is. Mine will run under 2:00 laps at Suzuka pretty consistently so I'd consider it pretty quick.

Never understood why people are asking those questions... it's not like you're spending real money on a real car... it's a game, buy it, tune it, try it, then keep it or sell it.

And by the way, you can have like 2000 or 3000 cars in your garage and money is easy to get.

Sigh.

I don't want to buy a car that is nearly 600k if I don't know about it much... I made that mistake when I was lv15 and bought the viper ACR (though that was 100k, which was a LOT back then)

QFT.

I currently have over 660 cars. I also have over 18 Million Cr. in my wallet and all six of my B-Spec drivers have over 1 Million on them (and now with the 200%, they will cash out to over 3 Million each).

I've never duped anything. The very concept of money in this game is schtupid.

As to the car, it says Mercedes on it. I'm not a fan. Buy it and go enjoy yourself. By the time you've blown out the engine and replaced the tranny and suspension you'll have re-invented any number of cars that were better to start with.

He starts too many threads, all asking what's the best car for $XXXXX, what's the most fun racecar, what's the most...etc. It's getting annoying. He can do a few seasonals and get enough money to buy 10 SLRs.

So you think the next logical thing to do is start a thread about it?

I can't do seasonals! Seriously, if I could, I'd have all of the $20,000,000 cars by now and I wouldn't be doing this!

My PS3 isn't online!

👍 You tell him ;) People don't know other peoples situations. Anyway, while I don't own the Premium SLR the standard is definitely a fun cruiser but if you're planning on tuning one I have no idea from there. And if you do ever find the standard SLR, according to the reports on mygranturismo.net, it can boast more HP than the '09.

It can, but it really isn't necessary.

Probably not. And you never know how accurate people are on there.

No, it can. My Galaxit Silver Metallic standard is tuned to put out more than a maxed premium (just don't ask me how much more), whereas my Galaxit Black Metallic standard is mildly tuned (no staged upgrades) and my Magmarot standard is bone stock. The premium car is much better when maxed than the standard is, and frankly the only state of tune that I have seen it surpass the premium is that of none at all. Regardless, the SLR is a phenomenal car despite its appearance on paper, and that heft only helps to maintain control as the car absolutely flies despite it. By all means, get it. If you plan to modify it (as it's your first, I imagine you do), do go for the premium because a) it's much easier to obtain and b) it benefits from tuning so much more.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Ok! I'm getting it!!!

Update: Boy do I feel like an idjit. So, a maxed '03 (standard) produces 937hp, certainly respectable. Went to do an engine rebuild on my '09 and found it to still be in good condition so I checked the mileage; 101.3 miles on the clock. Went back to GTAuto and did an oil change before running another 100 miles to complete the break-in and found it to have 933. Odds are, once another 100 miles are registered on the odometer and the engine is rebuilt, it will be substantially higher than 937. Anyway, I'm more than willing to admit when I'm wrong but I'm still confident that the premium car is the better car (it likely has more power but power isn't everything) and it's far and away the better looking of the two. And oh how gorgeous it is. I was definitely on my game when I built the one my BoBs are still breaking in now because it looks absolutely stunning with the Braemar Blue (from a standard Aston Martin) squirt job, carbon fiber hood, chin spoiler, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser, and the Enkei RPF1s in their standard silver paint.

There still isn't a need to post a new thread every time you don't know what to do with your money.

 So he gets his butt kissed because his PS3 isn't online? Mmmmm kay.

Give him just a little break Parkour, not because he's offline, but because he was trying to find out if the SLR is really worth buying. Granted, his threadstartety (it's mine, Merriem-Webster) is a little high, but hopefully he'll realize this and back off a bit. It could be worse, he could have asked why GT5 doesn't have a Nissan Maxima.

OK, I'll try. :sly:

Hopefully. He should start a "Should I buy this" thread, in which he (and others) could ask whether or not a certain car is worth it, to keep him from posting anymore like this one. Or he could just get one of his threads closed and a warning, scare him straight.

I don't know why that thread has made it to 70 posts. *Goes to report Maxima thread*

And you HAVE to come into this thread because.....?

Better than the "whats your favourite colour" threads etc..

I've only ever used mine for photomode - if you're offline and just playing A spec/B spec, I doubt if there's a real use for it. Don't bother.

PS regarding the need for the thread, what's the matter, is the internet getting full or something?

The SLR is worth every credit, I like it a lot! :D Looks great, has a good top speed, good acceleration and a great handling ;)

Buy it, you won't regret it :)

I just bought one the other day, because I thought it would look nice going sideways around a corner in a cloud of tire smoke.

I recommend painting it in Gold Chrome.

It does this exactly if you floor it all of 1st gear.

I bought one only 2 months ago after seeing it in this clip from the movie. Totally worth it.

Oh and use Comfort Medium tires.
