By the looks of that car, the "bastards" that vandalized it was probably no more than low winds catching the car at a bad angle.

"Condolences."
"Let's hope this never happens to anybody else and that your car pulls through quickly."
"That picture brought a tear to my eye..."

 They're getting so emotionally distrot over a car that looks like it was engineered by a clown.

Ohhhh man.. Thanks a huge bundle for that - You just made my morning !....

Seeing how that Smart is from Alberta, it would not surprise me at all if a strong wind caught the car, and tipped it over (seeing how some very powerful winds come down from the mountains). Anyone with any basic knowledge of physics should be able to see that the Smart won't hold up well to strong crosswinds. I doubt it was teenagers, I am a teenager, and I know that we have better things to do with our time than tip ridiculous looking, overrated cars.

That thread is priceless too. They treat it as if it was a Ferrari that was vandalized, not a Smart car, which from a monetary standpoint, is no worse than seeing a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic being vandalized.

I thought this thread was about someone purchasing a smart car. To be honest i'd laugh at someone who walked into a dealership and bought one. But then i'd laugh at someone who bought a citi rover, or whatever the hell it's called.

Yes, but I can't see any of those cars being tipped over in the wind.

If it's totaled than the owner could always take it to a plastic recycling center & maybe rack up $20 for the body panels. He might even make a profit, as $20 is more that that pile of manure is worth.

You mean chavs.

Mwhaahahahahahhahahah.......hahahahahahaha......................aaahahahahaahah <further manical laughter>

Its God's way of telling you that you bought a crap car. Clown car sums it up perfectly .

Incase you haven't realised I'm not a fan of Smart cars. If it was vandals its a pity they didn't have a hair dryer & melt insults into the side of the plastic bodywork. :sly:

Some of the comments, you have to realize, are from Smart owners themselves.
They don't want to see that happen to a car they own.

All car forums are like that.
You have to see, it is afterall, a Smart Car Forum.

In the article it says the owner likes the way the car handles.

Top Gear voted it the worst handling car of the year and in an Auto Express magazine survey, people voted it the worst ride and handling car...

It is quite funny  ...........but I do feel sorry for the guy, looks like he did some mods to it and kept it in good condition........people that do that sorta stuff should be shot...... :grumpy:

Moral of this story........dont buy a car which is light enough to be lifted by some brats with nothing to do......

You should chain your smart car to the ground or something.......it needs a bike chain!

Did you see the episode of top gear when they did the tests??

That made me role on the floor laughing, for those who didn't see the episode, they first tested a lotus elise at 60mph (i think) going into a corner, and they said this is how it should be done. They then tested the smart car round the same corner at the same speed, the car didn't even turn it just understeered in a straight line almost into a barrier. :dopey: stupid clown car

That's because it's so light that it skips across the street like a stone. I guess it's meant for...wait, I can't think of any reason why someone would want to buy a blasted clown car.

Well i think its meant for people who can't park, or at least thats the only explanation i can think of that something like this was ever concieved

Wow. If that's not the biggest homosexual commodity thats ever hit the face of the earth, I don't know what is.

Omg. I just realized somthing. Jacks said they tested it going into a corner at 60 mph. I didn't think that thing could get up past 45. They must've ran the hell out of that car (rather a box on wheels if you ask me).

They didn't say they were taking the corner at 60mph but it looked like they were.

phew...i want to see some of your cars rolled over...wonder how you'll like that...

it does not even need to be a smart. a bunch of wankers can roll any car over thats not a full sized truck or luxury sedan.

and that top gear test was just ridiculous. a smart does not corner as well as an elise? wow, surprise, surprise!

theres one modded smart car drivin around 'ere that has had the plastic parts plated and all covered in purple/green kameleon paint. kids round here got no taste, theres also a pink/blue kameleon supra on gold rims fartin about

You

The test was to determine the "Comedy Handling Car of 2004". They showed the Exige passing their Hammerhead corner - a left followed by a 180 degree right. The point of the Exige was to show how the corner can be taken in a car which handles well, staying between the lines with no oversteer or understeer.

The first car through was the Prius. With rubberband "efficient" tyres, it managed te left, then just ploughed on at 40mph, before eventually turning right. The second car was a Perodua Kelisa, which managed the left and then understeered almost off the top of the corner, with the back end stepping out to join in. It too made it round. Eventually.

The Smart Car (Smart CityCoupe, or Smart ForTwo, or whatever the hell they're calling it this week) was the third and final car through. It didn't even manage the left and just kept ploughing on in a straight line until the car reached rolling speed. When it ran out of track. This was at 40mph, in a car designed to run around city centres at 30-40mph and it couldn't even cope with a sharp direction change.

The point wasn't that it doesn't handle as well as an Exige does, but that it doesn't handle. Period.
