Exactly. A game.

For the vast majority of people (adults) it is an insignificant part of their life, that they seek to enjoy in their few moments of leisure.

I would have stopped playing GT at GT3 if GT4 hadn't allowed me to use other people's saved games with mega credits.

And in those free moments of leisure, those adults - I am 34 BTW - need the best cars and the best things in game that the kids have to grind?

Actually I am. It should be up to the player to decide how they want to play. I'm not a car collector, I race. GT5 became exponentially more fun once I was able to ignore credits and A-Spec completely. I had all the cars I wanted and simply raced them online.

My preferred games are high end simulators. They don't usually have any form of progression at all. To each their own, some like collecting, some don't. Console devs seem to ignore the latter unless they feel like charging for it.
I see what you're saying now. So, in a way, you just want to configure a car how you would like without any economy in mind just to see if it would "work" in real life, or as if it WAS real.

Never thought about it that way, but interesting thought. Perhaps a new mode that just threw away credits and gave every car/upgrade free, but cannot be used in GT Mode or online...

Like others have said, this is almost certainly a Sony idea, I'll just ignore these buyable credits and hope that the Career mode and seasonals haven't been hyper-mega-nerfed (remember GT5 back in 2010? Prize money was 1/2 to a 1/3 of what it is now, plus no PP bonus or daily multipliers.

Can't believe people are complaining so hard on this. You don't have to even look at it if you don't have to.

It's easy to ignore if you don't like it.

I have mixed feelings about this. I hate the road all games are going down with micro transactions. I watched the death of ms flight simulator and wouldn't even be shocked if the future gt7 is free to play.
Its funny you mention this, I dont know if anyone recalls this but Kaz mentioned the possibilty of GT being a DLC time based game in the futer or something along those lines.

You just need to read some of the posts in this thread to get a pretty good idea :p

Seriously, it's not the end of the world. It's in no way different than selling DLC cars, or paint chips, or tracks, or gear.
It is different though, You are being charged for nothing in return, No items just your digits changing numbers, How much work went into numbers? PD will be making money efortlessly, Its a scam plain and simple.

It seems as though a number of people didn't realise or have forgotten the number of sellers listing GT5 cars on ebay before the trading limits were introduced. In addition to the Stealth and Chromeline DLC codes, I remember a number of people sold Red Bulls, Miuras, XJ13s and F1 Ferraris during the early days of GT5 before Seasonals came along to make buying a 20,000,000 credit car feel like a possibility!

In all practical sense, by purchasing the Anniversary edition, I have used real money to buy in game cars. Okay, they will come with a different livery - but they aren't really very much different to the standard versions.

Who bought DLC paint, or the DLC cars - some of the TCs and the X2011 were not really very different.

I don't spend much time on playing games, so whilst I don't intend to buy credits with real money, I might be willing to do so, if I have a little spare and the benefits outweigh the cost of the micro transaction required ... although I can't think of a scenario right now!

I don't have time to learn cooking right now. So, I just won't.

I find no fun in a game where I get everything from the start, what do I do now? What do I work for in this game?? The fun is gone for me..... especially in a game as focused on underdoggery and progression as GT :(

GT5 sorta helped with the more expensive stuff thanks to seasonals, and to be honest they should keep it there. If you guys are really that choked up you can just buy the in-game cash.

Each crazy to their opinion though...

Anyone else get the feeling that people are scared they won't be be able to fight the temptation and spoil their own game and that's why they are so upset? The Ferrari 250 GTO is going to be right there for you to buy and all you have to do is bust out the credit card instead of working for it. I think this is the real issue.

Even if you get the Ferrari 250 GTO either way you're still not getting my sunflower seeds and my cheeseburger.

As someone who's only means of "income" is college dispursements, I have no such issue ;)

Amazon looks pretty dumb offering 1,000,000.00 pre-order now!!! If you must get the pre-order get gamestop's. You get 25 premium cars that can't be bought with in-game credits... Anyway it's ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS... right??? anybody who races for real is going to find their favorites and go with that and keep their money... I do hope there continues to be incentives for seasonals etc... comparable to "pay to win" otherwise this is going to get completely out of hand... I've lost interest in a number of Tecmo and Namco games as a result of this kind of marketing... Street Fighter X Tekken anyone???

After reading your comment twice, I still have no idea how you got Street Fighter and Tekken at the end.
