The bottom line is they are giving us more cars in the update but taking away the tracks to put them on. This is the only time of year I have time to play this game and now the tracks I've been saving to race have all been deleted.👎

Stop complaining, there will be more to come. Learn from your mistakes and race the events when they come out. If you did not get a chance to race the ones before they were deleted then thats your fault not PD's.

It is not the end of the world guys. There is this little part of GT5 that will earn you Cr. and Xp. and it is the most challenging part of the game. It is called on-line racing. Try it sometime.

Agree with all of the comments here, and my main thought is that overall the PD strategy is a bit weird.

Why remove events at all? It doesn't make sense especially as I read somewhere that Kaz himself said one of his regrets with GT5 original release was a lack of offline events.

I agree with the poster who said maybe it's a glitch - I hope so!

I can only think of 2 reasons to remove ANY of the seasonals...

1) To avoid the game being too easy to get too much XP/Cash in the early stages

Easy answer... reduce the amount of money made for each race, reduce the XP for each race, make seasonals level dependant on player level - eg. increase the choice of seasonals/cash/XP depending on a player's level

2) Lack of space - I can't get my head around this one, as the game file size can't be increased that much because each race option can only consist of a few lines of code to define the AI names, and specs, and car choice and specs and track choice data. Perhaps it's aesthetically too much to have a huge list of seasonals to choose from.

Easy answer - have a "Seasonal Archive" area - even remove any option for XP or Cash from these, so we can at least play around with cars on them.

I'm firmly in the camp of "more is better" - so if the Gods at PD are listening, please reverse this decision.

OR

Put some sort of random AI race generator option in the practice tracks, so we can test ourselves against progressively difficult AI opponents - set the AI of choice for the opponents (in increments of 200 to 1000). Ive said this before, but why not also allow for increased cash reward based on how far under the average AI PP your car is - eg if you are racing a car with 450pp against a field with nominally 500pp, then you should be rewarded more cash if you win than if you are racing a car with 550pp against the same field.

There are so many simple ways that PD could make this game have a whole new lease of life.

It's baffaling that people try to defend every move PD makes, no matter how ridiculous it is. And the fact you tell us to stop complaning about something that negatively impacts the game for many people just blows me away. Plus, how can you blame others for not doing the seasonals before they were deleted, if no one knew it was going to even happen? Don't forget none of the events had an expiration date on them.

Until PD can actually give us a reason for removing seasonsls instead of keeping everything a secert, there was no logical reason to remove all of those events. Period. They could have simply removed one event, and replaced with another to maintain variety. I'd imagine it wouldn't be hard to do since they removed a lot of the events and added another.

Don't get me wrong. I am not working for PD and by no means a fanboi. It would seem rather logical that folks would be racing the SE as soon as they were released. All the pissing and moaning going on when a SE/TT is late or not released on time. Just seems like the majority had already raced them and are just whining over something to whine about.
I say grow up, go outside and get some fresh air. There will be more SE's for gods sake!

Some of the Seasonals were worthwhile and some won't be missed. The ones I regret seeing go are (in no particular order) the Ferrari F1, the Lambo races, the Brit Lightweights and the Supercars. The Lambo and Brit races were just plain fun. The Ferrari F1 races were the only chance to run the F2007 and the F10 for credit (and the Toyko race in that series was my absolute favorite in all of GT5; muscling either of the F1s through the chicane on the back stretch at top speed was pure sex). The Supercar series was quite useful for testing.

Another lamentable factor here is that the course-maker tracks for each of the deleted series are now gone as well. Say goodbye to the wonderful twilight-into-nighttime Toscana track in the Lambo series, the long Eifel layout in the F1 series and the Eifel layout for Supercars (which was probably the best of all the PD-issued custom tracks). The ones retained are just not in the same class. I hate (with a capital H) the Eifel Kart layout used in the Euro Hot Hatch races -- it's a knockoff of a Mt Aso track from an earlier series, down to the awful multi-apex uphill right-hander. And am I the only one who thinks PD's penchant for blind, off-camber sharp turns (e.g. the one in the capper for the new American series) has become a bad cliche?

Yes seasonal, but after first true 'seasonal' events they used the 'seasonal events' box both for seasonals (tt/drift/special) and to extend A-spec race variety.

I see no reason for removing that, but it's in PD style. Aside of the Enzo cash event, which I used for 1-2 weeks, I was used to troll around the events with current used car....

I don't just race the Seasonals as soon as they come out, and ace them in the first try - fair enough if some people want that, but I pick the races of my preference (most of them actually), in particular:
The Ferrari F1 races, The Supercars, the expert races and severeal others. Then I enter the races with an evenly matched car, or - if it's a type of race I really enjoy - a not-quite-competitive-car, and I race. I race that race over and over, because I LIKE IT! I Like the racing! I like seing if I can improve today, maybe get that 5th place that I've been batling for over the last 3-4 attempts.

Racing, to me, is not entering a race in a superior car, strolling through the field, and knowing from the start, that I'll be significantly faster than everyone else. That reduces the races to mere time trials, only with moving chicanes on the track.

I consider the removal of the seasonals a major setback. I just might be moving to Forza now...

s there any way we can petition Kaz? I got some time from my xmas vacation alotted to this game and now theres nothing to race. Plus the 3 out of the 4 new cars I just paid cash for are only good for 1 seasonal.

I shouldn't feel forced to the play the game for fear of PD taking events away.

A tad annoyed about this, only had the game 3 weeks, Finally got my F1 yesterday and they removed the only place (apart from online) I can use it.

There will be more seasonals, just wait. I can't stand this argument, it makes no sense. Until those seasonals show up, the game is seriously lacking in the single player mode. If you are going to add more seasonals, then why not wait to remove the current seasonals until you do add the new ones. Swap them out one for one.

I think what has a lot of people upset is the fact that we weren't told they would be removed. Lots of people haven't had time to play them all, whether it's because of a lack of time or they just got the game. For myself, my playstation died and I didn't get another until around September. I started the game fresh, only have the last 4 Endurance races left for A-Spec and was starting to do the seasonals, I figured I had all the time in the world since PD hadn't said anything about removing them, and there was no expiration date. If I'd been told they would be removed then I would have played the ones I wanted to before that date and had no problem at all with it.

But right now, a ton of races and opportunities have been taken away and replaced with nothing, and no explanation whatsoever as to why. That's just wrong.

Less is not more. In a game starved for aspec races these seasonal events provided some fantastic events. The promise of new events in the future does not change the fact that there is less to do in gt5 today than there was two days ago. If events are added at the normal pace it will take several months to get back to where we were.

I'm going to really miss the lamborghini toscana race (with time change), super car festival at trial mountain, super car nostalgia at the ring, British lightweights at the ring, formula gran turismo at Tokyo reverse, and of course all the ferrari f1 events.

I don't want to sound ungrateful but what's the point of adding content when you're taking some of it away?
What's the point of removing A-spec races, seriously?!

I think excluding the Ferrari F1, I had completed them all, but I did like having them, especially since they did say 'till -' or null, meaning that they would never be removed.

Perhaps they could only hold so much, and now they are making room for more seasonals which re-do some of the old themes, but more challenging and more experience / money? I think that would make sense, things I will miss especially are the small car challenge (less than 4.2 metres), the british light weights, but the others I hardly did again, so perhaps that is the real reflection fo the community, that most people weren't playing them?

I still think they should've removed them one-by-one starting with the oldest/original four, that would've been the best way.

I'm perfectly fine with the seasonals removed.
It surprized me that they where on as long as they were.

The first seasonals stayed on for 2weeks.
That is exactly what I'd expect from seasonal events...

I think eventually the list will grow again, untill the next major update..
