Looking for some place to discuss the most abnormally inconsistent video game series of all time? Fear not.

This thread is dedicated to the Blue Blur.

I'll be getting Sonic Adventure 2 (still have my copy for the Dreamcast though) when it releases on the PSN but I'm not interested in much else. I though Sonic Generations was the best Sonic game to be released since the Adventure games on Dreamcast so I hope they plan on continuing that series.

I still have SA2 on Gamecube. I do wish though there was a proper release of S3 and S&K with the combination possible.

I think SA2 will be a massive seller. And when it is, SA3 will be the game of 2013 for Sonic fans everywhere.

The unannouced digital title will be Ep III I think...

Sega, add cockpit cam for the cars and you've got an instant buyer.

I am really excited about that game. The original was so under-rated and miles better than Mario Kart 7 in my opinion. The tracks were so fun.

Just ticked off there aren't any Daytona or SEGA Rally references!

Was playing Sonic CD earlier today.

Best Sonic game ever made, in my opinion.

It interests me how Sonic Lost World has been so polarising. Some people seem to love it, others seem to hate it. As I don't actually know anyone with a Wii U and can't afford one myself I'm afraid that I can't actually comment, but does anyone else here have an opinion on it? It looks decent from what I've seen, although nowhere near as good as the sublimity of Generations.

I have played the 3DS version and recently acquired a Wii U - will buy it soon.

Regarding 3DS version, it was the most awkward game I have ever played. It was like it wanted me to have fun but then decided at the last scond 'no, stop. And play something else.'

@Roger the Horse -- I've played the demo of Sonic Lost World (I could only afford one extra game so far; Super Mario 3D World). It seems like typical glitchy SEGA software with the trademark wonky, borderline-uncontrollable movement of a modern Sonic game, sprinkled with autopilot moments that are actually sometimes avoidable due to the Super-Mario-Galaxy-like floating/cylindrical/spherical worlds concept (I like that). There are hidden red tokens which encourage repeat playthroughs on alternate paths, but the camera discourages backtracking.

Some of the later levels in the preview video look interesting; I think it could be worth subjecting myself to the torture of glitchy failure, as with Sonic Adventure 2. I still haven't tried Generations so I can't compare, but I will say it seems relatively polished for what it is, when the gameplay works as intended. I would never recommend it to anyone without experience with 3D Sonic games, but maybe that goes without saying.

(I'm sad, how abandoned this Thread has become, after 3 years...)

I rarely play Sonic Heroes on my PS2, anymore. The first teams, I've beaten the game with, were Team Rose and Team Chaotix. *sigh* Those were the days...

In light of the recent flailing on Sega's part, promising fan-made projects, and subsequent disagreements among fans regarding how a Sonic game should play, I want to go on the record that Sonic is NOT about going fast! :banghead:

The original trilogy plus CD and Knuckles were physics-based platformers that rewarded skilled players by allowing you to maintain momentum (speed) if you knew your way around a level. What made them fun to play was the novel experience (at the time) of controlling a pinball-like character with relatively advanced 2D physics that made rolling and bounding along slopes and ramps enjoyable by itself. That's WHY there are slopes, ramps, and loops.

The best decision Sega has made for Sonic was putting fans in charge of Sonic Mania, because they seem to understand what Sonic Team apparently cannot fathom.

PREACH IT, BROTHER! *waves lighter*

All jokes aside; I, at least, hope that Sonic Team fix the franchise with the upcoming installment, Sonic Forces. Otherwise, we'll make our own Sonic-fueled fun by using mods on various games like Sonic Generations. Or, just play the Sonic Expansion Pack on Lego: Dimensions.

Oh, my. Sonic Team is a lot smarter than I just gave them credit for!

Sonic Forces is going to include a character creator, with seven playable species that offer different special abilities. Your hero gets a grappling hook (which honestly adds some interest to the gameplay, IMO) and will be integrated into the whole story mode.

Heck, if Dragonball: Xenoverse got away with creating original characters... Why not Sonic?

Plus, I want to see someone recreate Nazo from the old Sonic animation from Newgrounds, "Sonic: Nazo Unleashed" in Sonic Forces. Chakra-X (The animator, who created Nazo Unleashed.) would be proud...

If someone created Pinkie The Hedgehog in Sonic Forces, then we're all doomed. Coldsteel & Bubsy would be curb-stomped by her, when it comes to popularity. (Well, next to Cinos...)

EDITED: No, I'm not talking about the type of Pinkie, that DeviantART users combine both of the MLP and Sonic Universes together.* I'm talking about the same Pinkie from Lightning-Duchess/RianaLD's animation: "Most Original Sonic Fanfic Ever".

(Warning: NSFW!)

I'm sorry, if I offended any Bronies, who also love Sonic. I personally used to be a Brony, but stopped becoming one, after watching Equestria Girls and the other seasons. I am truly sorry for my bigotry towards my fellow ex-comrades, and let us continue with the Sonic Thread, at hand. I've later replaced "Bronies", with "DeviantART users."
