I don't believe it until I here offical confirmation, surely if it was true then it would have been something that PD would have promoted heavily in the features......

Head Tracking? i think it's a lie, but you never know for sure...

this would actually be a very useful feature, some PC games use it and it's pretty good.

Head tracking wouldn't be that hard to implement, the game IS 3d after all.

That's what I'm thinking. And I imagine what this head unit does is extremely basic.

A) It's got an LCD screen that the PS2 sends its video to through normal connections.
B) It's got a USB connection that plugs into the front of the PS2.

When you twist your head it's like moving the right thumbstick on the DualShock 2. Makes me wonder if it's possible to move your head faster than the thing can keep up with. Or possibly it has its own set of software or something, though to do it more accurately it would need a point of referances outside of the head unit and I've not seen or heard of any such device.

I will have it's nigglwes and flaws no doubt but it's a nice addition anyway.

I want one. :)

sounds interesting, and expensive. the thing that doesnt work is when you look right or left, you are not looking at the screen anymore.

Uh, the screens are in the glasses. So, yes you will be looking at the "screen".

Well demand for multimonitor support can't be real high but they put that in GT3 even. I'd guess PD might have added the HMD support just for their own enjoyment.

I dont believe this. I had the headset, I used to use it with Energy Airforce. The head-tracking worked really well. I kept thinking how cool it would be to use it with GT4 when it got released but alas I sold it not that long ago :(
Now I'm on a mission to find another one :)

does anyone know if the "i-glasses hmd" would be compatible with gt4? the web states its compatible with ps2, xbox, pc, tv?!? They are going for 70.-250. on ebay, not a bad price, probobly cheaper than sonys version...

the headset they're talking about has an adaptor specifically for PS2 which plugs into the USB and has headtracking function (only a couple of games use it). There's no reason why any headunit wouldn't work but purely for display :)

If the required features were implemented in GT4, I think that we would be able to look around already, with a joystick or an assigned button... no?

fair enough, think I will get an i-glass purely for display, dont need the tracking feature..

How is the display quality ? I'm afraid that such small LCD screens could be very poor, certainly not 1080i or 480p compatible too :-(

But it would be perfect if it worked right, especially if there is real 3D, with different images on both eyes, imagine that, coupled with a drive force pro, and a racing seat :)
