I"m still waiting for the Blue Devil Corvette.
Also, that Toyota is rumored as Toyota's supercar. Rumored to sell for over 6 digits.
But that F430 is nice and all, but still loks like a 360 Spyder, except with a new front, and Stradale wheels. Still very nice. 👍

I love the new vette's looks. Too bad the C6 isn't in GT4... atleast I don't think it is. :(

The Toyota supercar is already in the Auto News forum, and the Ferrari F430 Spyder is just a F430...with the roof cut off. Nothing really special there, you knew it was coming.

I wish the Supra would be reborn as a simple high-performance alternative to the tC, like it originally was back in the 70's and 80's.

(well not the tC but the Celica of course, but the tC is now filling the Celica's shoes)

I just wanna share. :(

Let me provide my commentary on this one.

* [Corvette ZO6 (based on C6)] I liked the C5's styling better than the C6. I'm sorry. I don't really like this shorter Corvette of now. I'm hoping that some aftermarket parts for the C6 will come out and eventually look better than its stock variant. I'm not digging this one except for its horsepower and performance.

* [The next Supra(?)] It will have a 500 horsepower V-10, and weighing less than 3000 lbs. I love the Supra, I respect it, but I don't see it as being the next Supra. I perhaps don't believe it [could become] the next Supra. I thought Toyota's next Supra would be molded upon the legendary 2000GT and that would be this supercar. This machine would make a more beefier Toyota Celica, but not the next Supra, I think. Now, the Supra came from the Celica if I can recall the Supra's past. But if Toyota is to do ANYTHING, let it be beefing up the Celica because at the moment, this new Supra could perhaps be NOTHING like the MKIV Supra we know and love. And if it ends up being the next Supra, that barely affordable MKIV we know will have a much bigger and more powerful brother. I just think a math problem of (Toyota 2000GT) + (elements of the Toyota MKIV Supra ) = (the next Supra) would work. But, we'll see next year.

* [Ferrari F430] Ever since the 360 Modena came out, I never really became a fan of the 355. The 360 Modena was a sexy little machine if you could have enough money for a loaded Mercedes-Benz, but not TOO much to own an Enzo. This F430 will be one demonic freak of nature. I dig this machine.

I know it's very early here, but that's my two cents and then some. Going to see how the Rockets/Kings NBA Preseason game goes in Shanghai, China. See you around!

The new supra looks like a peice of poo.👎 The Z06 looks awesome same with the Ferrari.:)

Agreed. The Supra's spoiler looks like a cheap platic spoiler that some jacktard would put on an '85 Civic.

And a big 👍 towards the Z06's 7.0 liter, 500hp V8!

Hmm with 500hp in the Z06, and 500 hp in the viper.....I think were gonna have one hell of a shootout between thses two.

I hope thats not the Supra, They turned in to a exotic type car!!!

You can't have supercar talk without McLaren'sAngel, seems like. But these machines are only getting more insane.

In a way, I've been thinking. Maybe it's trying to compete with a few of the 500hp beasts here in the States. But to me, at least call this a "Super Supra" or something because I don't really consider the Supra to be an exotic in the sense of Ferrari or Aston Martin. I still think the MKIV Supra should have combined with the styling of the Toyota 2000GT to make the new Supra. And I cannot see the machine as a low-profile Lexus either. It has to be a "Super Supra," or even a totallly different car with DNA from the past Supras. I guess the stunner for me is the Supra. What do you all think about a 6-figure Supra with 500hp?

I highly disapprove of it 👎

I believe, since the tC takes the role of the Celica as Toyota's entry-level sport compact that the Supra should be between $25,000 and $30,000 and be basically a high end version of the tC. Think Impreza 2.5 RS and WRX STi. This would go back to the original formula of the Supra, a hopped-up Celica, which chain was broken with the JZA70 model. Aah, the old '60' days. MA, RA, OR TA, those were the golden years for the Celica and Celica Supra. A lght, sporty car that can had for cheap. Toyota's halfway there (tC). Let's see if they can finish the job.

There is absolutely no proof whatsoever that this supercar will be named Supra. Most sources point to the name 'TXS' so far, especially if it's a Lexus.

I'm not a fan of the corvett since I'm currently comitted to the Camaro like McAngel to her Cutie, but I have to horay the 7.0 liter power. The 427 is one of my favorite clasic V8's along side the 302. (although I'd rather have a nice 8000 rpm twin cam 4.2 liter for a performance car) And I hated the bump to six liters for the base engine but this more than makes up for it. I hope the GTO is next in line for this engine, and maybe some day the camaro will return. Perhaps even as annother monaro based muscle car just like the GTO. with the 427 of course. "fingers crossed"

Hope it ain't a Lexus :indiff:

I mean, a supercar wouldn't match Lexus' image, unless it was like the SLR, with an automatic transmission and all.

And who wants that? :|

Inferno, from what I heard if there's a 2nd-gen GTO (which, rumored will be muilt in the U.S>) then the Camaro should be riding right alongside it...

*hands in praying position, toes crossed*

Toyota doesn't need a small sports coupe to use in JGTC...the Supra hasn't been built in nearly a decade now and they still use it in GT500 class.

And how does a sportscar not fit with Lexus' image? The NSX doesn't really fit Acura's image, and the upcoming Infiniti GT-R is rather out there for that luxury division...

The Toyota sports car looks like it is still very much in the works. Look at teh front left lip of the car. It looks like it is creased. That spoiler looks like it will snap off, hope it is either a test version (like I remember they did with the Porsche Carrera GT *Guy saw 3 on highway, all different spoiler designs*) or it is retractable.

I never I said the NSX fit acura's image, either, but they have the Integra and RSX. I don't think the IS300 is 'sporty' enough to change Lexus' image enough that they need a Supercar. Whatever. Ford didn't make the GT a Lincoln, and I'll leave it at that.

The NSX fit in with the rest of Acura's cars ten years ago, just like it didn't seem quite so underpowered and overpriced 10 years ago :)

I know that, and the NSX is still great for its money, it's just that the NSX was built in a dim automotive and since maybe 2000 the market for supercars has exploded and the competition just caught up then blew it off the road. Still, the fact that there are quite a few NSX's with over 100k on them is a testament to the car's reliability :) Say what you wanna say, the NSX imo is the 'Everyday Supercar'

Also, Acura's entire fleet, is, well how should I put this less geezerish than Lexus'. Don't get me wrong but C'mon nobody will argue that the ES300's sportiness can hold a candle to the TSX.

There's an IS430 coming up? And seriously, you don't consider the Soarer/SC a serious performance convertible, do you? I think it's Lexus' version of the Chrysler Sebring convertible.
