There was a thread similar to this and the outcome was that there is no difference at all in the way the standard cars look. The graphics on the standard cars still look the same.

they really do look better.. i was just playing GT5 Version 1.00.... the cars really do look different, they have been upgraded.... im 100% sure. dont believe me delete you patch and check for your self.. but when you reinstall GT5 patch do in on a new user so it doesnt mess up your save

Some cars have most definitely been upgraded. It's not even an arguable point comparing pics of the infamous Alto Works before and after. That said the majority probably haven't been touched

There was a thread similar to this and the outcome was that some Standard cars are considerably better than they were when the game launched (though no better than they were in GT4), because when the game launched several of them were glitched so they looked worse then they did in GT4.

That being said, not all of the ones that look worse then they did in GT4 have been fixed yet.

I think it should be mentioned that the cars that have been "upgraded" (or, more accurately, fixed) can probably be counted with your hands, so most people probably won't have noticed. There weren't that many cars that suffered from that specific problem when the game came out, and they haven't all been fixed either (for example, the Hyundai HDC6 and Legacy 2.0GT Spec B are still glitched).

its alot of them, they are shinny now.... i looked through my whole garage. all of them are better, they made them more glossy.

I heard somewhere they are making a HD version of GTpsp, fingers crossed there are upgraded standards going to come from that :)

The first rendering of that Alto SSR wouldn't look out of place in GT2 Lol. (the car only that is)

Ehm thats just a PIC from GT4 ???
No its not. That picture is from GT5, and I believe was actually taken by a gaming site for their review of the game.

You can clearly see the first picture is from GT4 look how everythig is rendered.
You can clearly see that the first picture is from GT5 based on how everything is rendered. GT4 did not have 3D wheels when racing. Only in the garage view/Photo Travel.

This is what the Alto looked like in GT4:

Which, other than the lack of 3D wheels, is identical to what the car looks like now that it has been fixed in GT5.

Looks better in GT4 than it does in GT5!

I think i've done more A-spec miles in my little Alto Works than any other car i own in GT5. :dopey:

Dude you found the picture on google anyways? you didnt even take it you stole it from another thread with the same topic... Still not GT5

Nope :)

Google Alto Works on pictures ;)
And that proves... what, exactly? That the picture that I said was from GT4 was from GT4? I'm reasonably sure I knew that already, what with the giant GT4 watermark in the corner and everything.

And in GT4 photomode the wheels are also 3D only 2D on races smartass ;)
Except, um, both of the pictures in the OP are from a race. So, you know...

its all the same, they dont upgrade standard cars and probably never will, btw who in their right mind drives a Suzuki alto anyway lol?

They were and have improved them like crazy, since Spec 2.

I was searching google to see if people noticed the improvements to the standard cars before Spec 2.

For those of you who say the picture is from GT4, look at the top right. You notice the "GT Logo" at the top right? Only GT5 has that logo.

+1 to TeddyBear and Toronado. And TeddyBear is also right, the standard cars have been upgraded and they look so much better now thanks to the 2.00 update.

@Myrhoej20 Sorry to say but the "GT Logo" from GT5 said your wrong. ;)

The real question here should be, why would you want an alto works?
